Eighty percent of Israeli Jews now oppose the creation of a “Palestinian state.” They want to keep Judea and Samaria as part of Israel, in accordance with the League of Nations’ original plan for the Mandate of Palestine, which was to include all the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea; Mandatory Palestine would ultimately become the state of Israel. Now the Knesset has approved a resolution in support of applying Israeli sovereignty to Judea and Samaria. Following a long debate in the plenum, the Knesset approved a declaratory resolution on Wednesday in support of “applying Israeli sovereignty to Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley.”
The vote passed by a large margin, 71-13, with six votes coming from the opposition Yisrael Beytenu party and four from United Torah Judaism, despite the latter having left the coalition and government on July 14.
Opposition parties Yesh Atid and Blue and White did not participate in the vote, and the Democrats, Ra’am, and Hadash-Ta’al voted against the resolution.
The vote was categorized as a “debate on a topic that the Knesset decided to place on the agenda” without any operational or legislative consequences….
The vote was a declaration of future intent, not a law. Nothing has changed on the ground. It was merely a declaration of hope that sometime in the future, Judea and Samaria would be formally annexed by the state of Israel.
Jews lived continuously in the Land of Israel for 3500 years. And it was in Judea and Samaria, not in Tel Aviv and Haifa, that Jewish history was made. It was in Judea and Samaria that the Jewish prophets and patriarchs lived, and where the four holy cities of Judaism — Safed, Tiberias, Hebron, and Jerusalem — are located. For Jewish believers, Israel will not be complete in its ancestral homeland unless it includes Judea and Samaria.
It was the atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023 that brought home to the Israelis the fanatical hatred of the Muslim Palestinians for the Jews of Israel, and led many more Israeli Jews — now 80% of them — to oppose the creation of a Palestinian state “west of the Jordan.” That phrase was carefully chosen, because many Israelis now think that Jordan, the Arab kingdom east of the Jordan River, should be recognized as the “Palestinian state.”
According to Israeli law, the current status of the territories it captured from Jordan in the Six Day War, save for east Jerusalem, is that of a “temporary belligerent occupation,” and the legal governor of the territories is the IDF Central Command’s commanding officer.
It is that Israeli law that the backers of this resolution hope to override, treating Judea and Samaria not as “occupied” territories, but as unallocated parts of the Mandate that, from 1949 to 1967, were illegally held by Jordan, and that Israel, for the three reasons given above, has an overwhelming right to annex.
Remember that the League of Nations’ Mandate for Palestine, Article 6, calls for the holder of the Mandate (Britain) to “facilitate Jewish immigration” and to “encourage close settlement by Jews on the land,” including “state and waste lands.” And that is what the half-million Jews in Judea and Samaria have done, settling on “state and waste lands” provided to them by the government, and also on lands bought, at exorbitant prices, from Arab owners.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention forbids governments from engaging in the “transfer” or “deportation” of its citizens into “occupied” territory. But this does not apply to Israel, which neither deports nor transfers its citizens into Judea and Samaria. These citizens make their decisions to move there of their own free will, not at the behest of the Israeli government. This point has to keep being made, because so many people invoke, apparently without comprehending, the meaning of Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
The Knesset declaration of support for extending Israel’s sovereignty to all of the Land of Israel is an act of defiance against so much of the world’s opinion. At a time when the French President has just announced his intention to recognize a state of Palestine, the MKs have overwhelmingly declared their intention to extend their country’s sovereignty, as they have every right to do, given the 3500-year history of Jews living in the area, as well as the express provisions of the Mandate for Palestine, including the territory assigned to it by the League of Nations, and finally, by UN Security Council Resolution 242, that gives Israel the right to retain any territory it needs for “secure and defensible borders.” Israel has laid down the gauntlet. The MKs support, by a margin of six-to-one, the annexation of all of Judea and Samaria by the Jewish state. And neither the UN, nor President Macron, nor the assembled heads of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, will be able to say them nay.

No. The Oslo Accords, and the 1993 experiment, which Presidents Bush & Clinton forcefed a reluctant Israeli government, has shown that the likes of Yitzhak Shamir were right to push back on it. Bringing all those Palestinians back from Tunis was a major mistake. Now it’s time to expel them again, just like they were expelled from Beirut in 1983

Like Israeli Arabs, those “Palestinians” who agree to behave like civilized citizens can be allowed there, but those who are a part of any intifada or other jihadist movements, or affiliated to any of the Pali parties – Fatah, Hamas, islamic jihad, PFLP,…. should be forcibly expelled. Maybe put them on a dinghy just south of Marseilles, and let the French decide if, and where to route them

I agree. But I was assuming the equivalent of Israeli Arab muslims who are law abiding citizens of Israel. Israel is loathe to do anything against them. In fact, come to think of it, even Druze are technically muslims, even if they may be targeted by the sunnis in Syria for annihilation. Yet, Israel broke a potential thaw in relations w/ Damascus to rescue them

Later, they will claim they died from starvation; more pressure and demands should be made to obtain the bodies from these ‘starved’ people for autopsies.
You will find they cannot produce even ONE body of a starved person in Gaza.

In fact,, God had given all that land to the Jewish people. This may be found in the Bible, as seen in, for example, Genesis 28:13-15. 35:10-12. Deuteronomy 32:48,49. Psalm 105:7-11.
In other words the Jews have tall this land by Divine Right. Moreover, the Jewish people should have this land by historic rights as shown in First Kings 4:20,21, 24,25. 8:55, 56.
