All over the place in Italy, it seems that antisemitism has again been raising its ugly little head. Not physical attacks so far, no mob violence, but just enough “no-Jews-welcome” nastiness to wound, and spread fear, among inoffensive Jews of every age and station.

A Jewish man from France and his child were verbally assaulted at a gas station near Milan in Italy this week by a group of pro-Palestinian supporters — an incident that has triggered strong condemnation from the country’s Jewish community.
On Monday, a group of pro-Palestinian individuals shouted antisemitic slurs at a Jewish man and his son after spotting the child wearing a kippah, hurling phrases like “Free Palestine” and “murderers” as they passed by.
The incident was captured and widely shared on social media, showing the father shouting “Am Yisrael Chai” — Hebrew for “The people of Israel live” — in response to the antisemitic insults, while his child appeared visibly upset.
Amid a growing wave of antisemitic hate crimes, this latest incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with activists and the local Jewish community calling for urgent and decisive measures to combat the increasing anti-Jewish hatred across Europe.
But what measures to “combat anti-Jewish hatred” will be taken, by politicians keenly aware that the Muslims in their midst now far outnumber the Jews in their countries, and there soon will be, if it hasn’t happened already, more Muslim than Jewish voters.
Yossi Spitzky, a French-Jewish public relations activist, denounced the incident on social media, calling the surge in antisemitism “completely unbearable.”
“A Jewish man stopped at a gas station on a highway in Italy and was targeted with chants of ‘Free Palestine’ just because his son was wearing a kippah. He’s French — this has nothing to do with Israel,” he wrote in a post on social media.
“How far have we fallen? Don’t you think this has gone too far? In ten years, will we be saying ‘never again,’ or will we choose to stand up against this hatred now?” he continued.
The incident comes amid a surge in antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment across Europe and around the world since the Hamas-led invasion of and massacre across southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
Jews were tortured, raped, mutilated, and murdered on October 7, 2023, and the response of the world was a day or two, or in some cases a week, of formulaically expressed sympathy and outrage, but that was quickly followed by 22 months of rising antisemitism all over the world from those brain-addled by hate.
n Italy, Jewish individuals have been facing a surge in hostility and targeted attacks, including vandalism of murals and businesses, as well as physical assaults. Community leaders warn that such incidents are becoming more frequent amid growing tensions related to the war in Gaza.
Last month, a masked individual targeted a synagogue in Rome, spray-painting a swastika and antisemitic slogans — “Sieg Heil” (“Hail Victory”) and “Juden Raus” (“Jews Out”) — on a sign near the entrance.
Surely those words redolent of the Nazis must have left the Jews of Rome unsettled and afraid.
In May, a restaurant in Naples forced an Israeli family to leave, telling them, “Zionists are not welcome here.”
One would like the name of that restaurant to be spread far and wide, and not only in Italy and Israel. Many people, by no means all of them Jews, will want to deny that restaurant their custom.
The couple promptly left, but they might have tried to enlighten the hotel manager about his absurd charge of “genocide” by providing him with a few facts. They might have noted that of the 58,000 people whom Hamas claims have died in Gaza, at least 24,000, according to the IDF, were Hamas combatants a, and historically 800 people die in Gaza each month from accidents and diseases, which means that in 22 months of war 17,600 — a month over 22 months — died from diseases and accidents, that is from non-combat related causes. And that means only 16,400 civilians died from the war. Most regrettable, but that number is far less than 1% of the 2.2 million people in Gaza. Can one really describe as a “genocide” the killing of 1% of the population? Furthermore, “genocide” requires intent. How can Israel be accused of deliberately intending to kill civilians, when the IDF has engaged in a tremendous campaign to warn civilians away from sites about to be targeted? Millions of leaflets have been dropped, millions of text messages been sent, millions of robocalls been made, all in order to warn civilians away from danger, and minimize their deaths. Hamas, on the other hand, which embeds its fighters and weapons and rocket launchers among civilians, wants to increase the number of civilian deaths so as to blacken the image of Israel. And this strategy, alas, has been working.
Would that Oriana Fallaci, the famous left-wing Italian journalist who took the measure of those she called “the sons of Allah” in her book The Rage and the Pride, that was written in white heat just after September 11, 2001, were still alive to smite the antisemites in Italy hip and thigh. But as she is not, I hope you will accept, in her stead, this pretty skimpy looking, but heartfelt, denunciation.

Absolutely! Next come the Christians and the other Non-Muslims as taught in Islam’s Quran. The people in this picture are very ignorant. The reason why is this so is because , in reality, there is not nor was there ever a genuine land that is “Palestine.” That is a modern fiction. Therefore, that “Palestine flag.” is a fake “flag.”
“The land of Israel was renamed Syria Palestrina by Hadrian, the Roman Emperor. Following the second revolt against Rome in AD 132- 135. The Philistines had always been the enemy of the Jews .and as such it was an insult to the Jewish people.” [1]
It should also be added, that Hadrian had deliberately intended the renaming of Israel to be an insult and offence to the Jews.
