The leftist media are really upset that Colbert’s 1st amendment rights have been violated. Yes, in the lunatic lefts world it is a 1st amendment right to be paid 10 million a year to host a show featuring excruciating unfunniness. This is in spite of the fact that CBS loses 40 million every year airing his show. Perhaps CBS saw the USAID dollars dry up.
The “We’re With Colbert” gathering outside the CBS Broadcast Center on Manhattan’s West Side drew about 24 protesters. Even the NYPD showed up and then immediately left.

I gave up on SNL and most TV “comedy” long ago. It was always predictable.
When Tina Fey made fun of Sarah Palin for believing that Russia was next to Alaska, and heard all my supposedly edgymikated colleagues thinking it sooooooo clever, I couldn’t help but remind them that only a couple miles of cold water separate Alaska’s Little Diomede from the Chukotskaya Kray’s Big Diomede; in effect leaving the US and Russia with a common border. It made me quite ashamed to be a faux-siphticated East Coaster to see how many in this part of the country–including people with access to all kinds of information, can actually believe that an Alaskan’s recognition of Russia’s proximity to her state is a sign of ignorance.
I may have watched Kohl-bear once or twice. The imitation of Walter Cronkite or avid Brinkley of yesteryear could be funny–the deep, serious, tone with just a hint of earnestness, and then attaching it to the cognitive dissonances and hypocrisies of our time. But, at this point in life, I have been painfully aware of the similar cognitive dissonances of the progressive movement as well tpo be amused by such people and their colleagues
