8. Israel does allow Jews to visit the Temple Mount, but only for four hours a day, on five days of the week. But ever since it took over the Old City during the Six-Day War, the Israeli government has prohibited Jews from saying prayers while visiting the Temple Mount, a policy put in place by Defense Minister Moshe Dayan in June, 1967, just after the war was over. Mr. Mamdani, do you think it might be time to let Jews pray at the holiest site in Judaism, or do you support continuing a ban on such prayers?
9. According to the law of Islam, the Sharia, as I’m sure you know, the testimony of a woman is worth half that of a man. A Muslim daughter inherits half of what a Muslim son inherits. A Muslim husband can divorce his wife merely by uttering the triple talaq, while a Muslim wife needs to go through a complicated and often expensive process to divorce her husband. Finally, Qur’an 4:34 says that a Muslim husband can “beat” his wife, albeit lightly, if he even suspects her of being disobedient. Which of these rules about Muslim men and women do you support, and which do you want to see eliminated?
10. In Islam, the punishment for a Muslim who abandons his religion — that is, becomes an apostate — is death. Do you think Muslims should have as much freedom to change their religion, whether for another faith or none, as do people of other faiths?
11. Surah 9:29 instructs Muslims thus: “Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the last day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and his messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the scripture — [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.” What do you make of this requirement that People of the Book — that is, Christians and Jews, should be subdued but allowed to live, and even to practice their religions, just as long as they pay the jizyah, an onerous capitation tax paid to the Islamic state in order to ensure the physical safety of non-Muslims. In essence, the jizyah was a form of extortion. Zohran, what do you think of the treatment in a Muslim state of those non-Muslims who are called “dhimmis”?

Answer to No. 1 – YES to the first part and I disagree with your prognosis in the 2nd part
Answer to No. 2 – YES to the first question. Yes to the second question but so did our ancestors the Canaanites and our ancestors were not Muslims so the 3rd question is irrelevant.
Answer to No.3 – A Western entity cannot determine the fate of Palestinians so I disagree with the imposition of the Mandate
Answer to No. 4 – Both the name “West Bank” or the name “Judea and Samaria” had an even older name, a Canaanite name which is our ancestors.
Answer to No. 5 – Palestine is an ancient name. I know nothing about the KGB.
Answer to No 6 – I don’t know but it may have something to do with those nations being in a state of war with Israel.
Answer to No. 7 – Again, a State of War existed and the introduction of large groups of Jews into now Jordanian territory could be dangerous.
Answer to No. 8 I support allowing Jews to pray at their holy site. But this area is claimed by Palestinians and to be controlled by a Palestinian authority which I am sure you don’t agree with.
Answer to No. 9 – I am not a theologian so I am not competent to answer those types of questions.
Answer to No. 10- I do, but again this is a theologian issue.
Answer to No. 11- About the same as I think about the treatment of Palestinians by Israel in Gaza.

Regarding answer #3: The “Palestinian“ people did not exists at the turn of the 20th century. The Term Palestine is a Western one, the locals were not a people and did not refer to themselves as Palestinian.
Regarding answer #4: the Canaanite do not figure into the equation because they ceased to exist 3 millennia ago.
Regarding answer #5: The term “Palestinian” originates in the old testament form the Term “Plishtim” and refers to invading people from Europe. The current name was coined by the Romans when they created the province of Syria Palaestina in 135 ad. The philistines are not mentioned in historical documents after of the 4th century bcd. That’s why the current Palestinian claim for ancient historical presence in the region is false.
Regarding answer #6: The reason there was no Palestinian state is simply because there was no Palestinian people: the Arabs under Jordanian rule were Jordanian citizenship, those in the Gaza strip were mistreated by the Egyptians, although at least 50% of them of them came from Egypt.
