Trapped in her home in As-Suwayda, Syrian pharmacist Hala Saraya recounts the brutal killings of her family and pleads for the world to hear the Druze community’s cry for help.
In a desperate and emotional plea to the world, Hala Saraya, a pharmacist from As-Suwayda, Syria, recounted the brutal killing of seven members of her family and the violent assault on her Druze community by Syrian forces aligned with Bedouin fighters. Speaking with The Media Line from her home, where she remains trapped in fear, Hala urged international attention to the atrocities unfolding in her city.

“We are innocent and very polite citizens,” she said. “But we don’t know why they killed us. They killed all of us.”
We don’t have weapons. We are civilized people.
According to Hala, the violence began suddenly on a Sunday evening, when the official army, referred to as the al-Jolani militia, began an unprovoked assault on civilians.
“From Sunday evening … the army and the militia of al-Jolani attacked the innocent people in As-Suwayda,” she said. “We don’t have weapons. We are civilized people.”
At first, many thought the militia were coming to protect them from Bedouin attacks, but by Wednesday, the situation escalated in brutal carnage. That morning, at 7 a.m., al-Jolani forces entered her relatives’ home under the pretense of searching for weapons. “They said, ‘We will not do anything bad to you,’”Hala recalled. But after removing all the men from the house, “they took them … to a place near their house, actually. And they killed them immediately.”
Seven members of the al-Saraya family were murdered. The bodies were discovered the following day, July 17. “It was a horrible way,” she said. “Not just a weapon on you. It was a horrible way.”…

You don’t have to be a Muslim terrorist to kill for Allah, any devout Muslim, will act like a terrorist Muslim, to serve Allah and Muhammad. Many kill for the booty. Killing is integral to Islam, it’s every Muslims job, to kill for Allah and Muhammad, all Jews, Christians, and non-Muslims.

This reminds me of the 1929 Massacre of Jews in Hebron by Palestinian neighbors. On a false rumor spread by the Mufti of Jerusalem that Jews were destroying the al-Aska Mosque, a gang of vigilantes went house to house in the Jewish community in Hebron, the second Holiest city in Judaism. They murdered people in their homes in the most cruel and barbaric manner by severing off limbs as is advised in the “holy” koran. These Jews had no weapons but someone said a Jew had a pistol and that was enough to bring the entire barbarism down on totally innocent Jewish residents.
The British police who were the agents for the Mandate of Palestine stayed outside the city limits until the screams became too much even for them. They entered and instead of arresting the murderers, they choose to march out of the city all Jews. The Jewish people never were allowed to live in Hebron or enter Hebron again until Liberation Day in 1967.
Some 69 Jews were horribly tortured and murdered in the most gruesome way. No one came to their rescue and no Palestinian said “Stop”.Bedouins are no different from palestinians.

Perhaps under Assad’s Shia Muslim rule, the Christians and the Druze were permitted to live in the country with some protections. Not so under the Sunni Muslims, only Sunnis. Still, her lack of knowledge of Islam is surprising but deadly.

With the escalating sectarian violence and absence of accountability, a Druze civilian called “Munir Al-Rajmah” and nicknamed “Abu We’am” working as a guard of a well in Al-Tha’lah town in Al-Suwaidaa city was executed by a member of the Syrian Ministry of Defence hailing from north-west Syria.
The murder of “Al-Rajmah” has been turned into a case of the Arabic and international public opinion.
The most troubling issue regarding this horrific crime is the political cover provided by international authorities to the perpetrators, where the United States Special Envoy for Syria, Thomas Barrack, who is supposed to be the voice of justice exerting pressure on human rights violators, has denied the responsibility of the Ministry of Defence for those violations, disregarding the video footage which documents the crime and clearly shows the face of the perpetrator when he shot the victim.
The video showed members of the Ministry of Defence, while interrogating “Al-Rajmah,” who was a peaceful civilian and never engaged in military or political activities, near Mohamed Saleh Nasr school, where they asked him only for his sectarian affiliation.
As soon as the had made sure that “Al-Rajmah” was from the Druze community, they extrajudicially executed him mercilessly without trials and for no charges.
Barracks’ turning-a blind-eye to this crime and manufacturing justifications to divert blame from state authorities raises a question about the real task that the US Special Envoy for Syria was entrusted to; was he appointed to pursue peaceful solutions in Syria and protect civilians or to grant a political cover for those who commit sectarian-based atrocities?!
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirms that real justice can never be reached through diplomatic niceties, but through adopting strict stances holding real perpetrators accountable and exerting efforts to prevent recurrence of such crimes.
The extrajudicial execution of “Al-Rajmah” in that horrific way will remain a stain on the silent, the apologists and the accomplices.

Al-Suwaidaa province: The Syrian Observatory has obtained a video footage showing a horrific crime committed by security forces affiliated to the current government.
The crime was captured by a security camera near Al-Shahbaa petrol station, where the video showed gunfire on a taxi carrying civilians near Kanaker junction, that led to the death of four persons, including two women, immediately, while an elderly man was shot dead by the same perpetrators while he was attempting to escape.
The crime, which took place in broad daylight, triggered a shock and anger among residents, especially since the attackers kidnapped three children, including a baby, who were escorting the victims.
It is worth noting that the massacre was committed on July 16, just before storming Al-Suwaidaa city by security members in tanks and armoured vehicles, where they roamed residential neighbourhoods in a provocative way, triggering broad public panic.
