“Israeli Settlers Beat Palestinian-American To Death”
That’s the headline, and most of the story, too. Sometimes an adverb is added: “Israeli Settlers Brutally Beat Palestinian-American To Death.”
What do we actually know? This: that “Palestinians” were trying to prevent any barrier from being put up between Sinjil, an Arab town north of Ramallah, and the highway used by Jews, to make their travel less dangerous. Sinjil lies in the place that has been called the West Bank ever since the Jordanians so renamed it in 1950, though for 3500 years that territory had been known as Judea and Samaria. When word reached Israelis living nearby, they showed up to stop the attempt by Palestinians to keep their border with the highway. The “Palestinians” threw rocks at them. A fight ensued. A clash of two groups. Some of the “settlers” had clubs. The “Palestinians” had their rocks. That clash is seldom mentioned. Instead, we are asked to believe that a group of Israeli “settlers” — a scare word, meant to suggest men maddened with racist hate (there are such men in Judea and Samaria, but they are not the Jews) — suddenly appeared, for no reason whatsoever, and then as a group they beat to death Saif Musallet, aged 20, who had been peacefully minding his own business.
There were not “settlers” who caused Musallet’s death, but only one “settler,” or, to avoid such a loaded term, an “Israeli” who was fighting with Musallet. Apparently, he struck the “Palestinian” on his head with a club. It’s bad; he should be punished and will be, but we should also see steadily and whole the full context of a mano-a-mano within a larger clash, in which the “Palestinian” was not “beaten to death” by a group of Israelis, but was hit on the head by the single Israeli he was fighting at the time.
How might the media more accurately report this story? How about this: “Groups of Palestinians and Israelis clashed in the village of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, on July 11. One Palestinian died after being hit on the head, by an Israeli with whom he had been fighting, and another died from a bullet wound. Both deaths are being investigated by Israel. The investigation is being hampered by the Palestinian Authority’s refusal to allow the Israelis to examine the bodies.”

The club wielding Israeli should be praised for bravely standing up to homicidal Arab-Muslim thugs. Rocks are deadly weapons that have been used to murder Jews for years. The fact that he stopped the rock throwing jihadist maniac should not result in any sort of punishment.

I agree. If someone has a knife, and is shot dead while stabbing a victim, this is no different than a bat being used to stop someone from killing another with a rock.
Doesn’t their book of demon filth have words about murdering Jews with rocks?
Self-defense or defense of another doesn’t specify that the defender must use just his hands to stop the murderer.

“Settlers” are Jewish residents who have been attacked and murdered for 80 years. Many are sick of not protecting themselves.
