Well, it looks as if President Donald Trump is right again. He has been unsparing in his assessment of the man most likely to be the next mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, and Mamdani has shot back that Trump is using attacks on him to distract citizens from the alleged dastardly war that Orange Man Bad is waging upon the American people. Yes, it’s preposterous and insulting as well, for if anyone is waging war against the American people, it’s the likes of Mamdani and his comrades, who want the United States to become the latest in the long line of countries to destroy itself in the process of finding out that socialism doesn’t work.

A man who wants the state to run state “special” grocery stores(he said the state run ones would be exempt from real estate taxes and others fees this will drive private ones out of business).He wants to tax homes in “white” areas a higher real estate tax in the city .He want free buses ,and other “free” things payed by upper income taxes on people he considers rich .He publicly said that their should be no billionaires in America that that whole tax system should penalize people who make that kind of money .He wants to do anyway with a free market on rent with all rental property under rent control in the city? Who would invest in rental property if you had a communist run city telling you what you can charge .What makes him think that the “greedy” billionaires ,millionaires and upper middle income people of this city will not leave? What makes him think that the financial industry the stock market ,insurance companies ,bond traders ,and other who pay the taxes ,rent office building in almost the sole renters in office buildings in mid-town and down town Manhattan will take their businesses and productive people and leave? THis trust fund baby this son of communist ,who in his 33 years on this earth has not held a job outside making of rap videos’ bankrolled by his mother think he is qualify to run a city that is the financial capital of America?.

There was a program under Obama called “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” (AFFH) which was a program of the government snapping up land in suburban areas (or having Big Finance like Black Rock, State Street & Vanguard do that for them), and building projects in those areas. If a family had a single family home in the locality (since those localities were targeted for such projects), it would see that property value plummet as a result, and then that family would get an offer from these companies to sell so that those homes could also be converted into condos or other community housing. It’s a great way to destroy the suburbs, and force families to either move into such homes or leave the area altogether
It was again brought to the forefront during Obama, but it was one of the programs that the Trump campaign promised to end. Not sure where it is now, given that there is so many EOs that had been passed since he came to office
What Mamdani wants is nothing different from that. Incidentally, in the Soviet Union, there used to be such project-like units named after different Soviet leaders – Stalinkas, Krushchevkas and Brezhnevkas. A lot of Russian cities still have them, since the Soviets were more interested in the rest of the country outside Moscow than the current Russian government is. But if anyone has ever seen any video of that, that’s what communist housing in the US would look like as well
