A New Middle East Expert Has Just Appeared on the World Stage: Hunter Biden

Now we have a new Middle East expert who has just appeared on the world stage, and chimed in with his thoughts on Israel, Gaza, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Hunter Biden, son of former US president Joe Biden, said Jews are less safe globally due to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions and that Netanyahu’s responses to Iran and Hamas’s October 7 massacre are calculated to consolidate power, in a Monday interview with Channel 5’s Andrew Callaghan.

Jews are “less safe globally” because the world media misreports almost every aspect of the war in Gaza to depict the IDF as a group of mad-dog killers, shooting and starving women and children, committing “ethnic cleansing” and “genocide.” The world’s Jews are “less safe globally” because Muslims by the millions have carried the virus of antisemitism with them to other countries, particularly in Europe, where they have been allowed to settle, and triumphantly brought antisemitism into favor back into Europe, where it is enjoying a revival not seen since the days of the Nazis. Jews are “less safe globally” because of people such as Hunter Biden, who claim to support Israel, but have no understanding of the jihadist impulse that explains the unassuageable Muslim hatred of the Jewish state.

Biden began by addressing the global backlash against Jews, which he linked to Netanyahu’s leadership. “What’s happening is that Jewish people globally are being lumped in with the horrific acts of Benjamin Netanyahu,” he said.

What exactly are those “horrific acts”? Does he think Netanyahu is wrong to have had the IDF carry on a campaign to destroy the terror group Hamas after the atrocities — rapes, tortures, mutilations, and murders — carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023? Does he think Netanyahu has carried out “horrific acts” even though the IDF has made a tremendous effort to warn civilians away from sites and buildings about to be targeted, and done so by dropping millions of leaflets, sent millions of text messages, made millions of robocalls? Does Hunter Biden think Netanyahu has carried out “horrific acts” when, after 21 months of war, far fewer than 1% of the population of Gaza has died from combat-related causes, and the civilian-to-combatant ratio in the Gaza war is less than 1:1, which is unheard of in the annals of modern warfare? Does he think that Netanyahu’s attempts, including the latest concessions made by Israel, to obtain the release of the hostages in exchange for a ceasefire, while Hamas still refuses to agree, are “horrific acts”?  Does he think Netanyahu’s “horrific acts” include having the IDF attack Iran’s nuclear program? Or having the IDF strike the terror group Hezbollah to make it stop firing missiles and drones at civilians in the Galilee? Was it a “horrific act” to have Israel strike back at the Houthis in Yemen in an attempt to stop the drones and missiles they keep launching at the Jewish state? Could Hunter Biden tell us what exactly what he means when he accuses Netanyahu of “horrific acts”?

“People are associating all Jews with the actions of Netanyahu, and that’s a problem.” He stressed that many Jews, particularly those outside Israel, do not support Netanyahu’s approach but are nonetheless being targeted. “Not all Jews support what Netanyahu is doing, but they’re still being targeted because of it,” Biden remarked.

Biden also insinuated that Israel, or Netanyahu specifically, had intelligence on Hamas’s October 7 massacre prior to the event. “If the Mossad had the [defense] plans for the October 7 attack a year before it occurred, why were you not prepared? Why did you not have soldiers in the southern part of Israel, where the attacks occurred, for up to 7-12 hours?” he asked, questioning the failure to act on intelligence.

Israel’s failure to be prepared for the Hamas attack was a system-wide failure to make sense of the intelligence available about Hamas’ plans. It was not Netanyahu alone, nor the Minister of Defense, but the entire DF high command, and Mossad itself, that failed to comprehend the danger. Hunter Biden reflects the widespread demonization of Netanyahu, who is being made to bear the blame for the faults of so many. .

Biden criticized Israel’s military response to Hamas, arguing that bombing Gaza would only perpetuate violence. “No matter what, unless you literally kill every single person that inhabits Gaza right now, you would have a generation upon generation that would justifiably haunt Israel and haunt the United States,” he said.

Apparently the IDF does not agree with military strategist Hunter Biden. Strangely, it believes that destroying the weapons and killing the combatants of a fanatic enemy will not “perpetuate violence,” but cause that violence to end. This strategy worked against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. Why shouldn’t it work with Hamas? Isn’t the battering of Hamas by the IDF day by day weakening the terror group, that has lost almost all of its ability to make war on Israelis?
