It sure does. When I first rade the Qur’an–not long after 9/11–I knew nothing about abrogation or a lot of other factors–but I had wanted to see if the Qur’an really did preach violence. I never expected this to be anywhere near as bad as it is.

Yes it does. There are many verses that can be understood that way. Even the verse 5:32 which is often used to show that Islam does not command to kill people can be interpreted easily that it does command to kill people who do mischief in the land, a term often used to address the non muslims.
5:32 That is why We ordained for the Children of Israel that whoever takes a life—unless as a punishment for murder or mischief in the land—it will be as if they killed all of humanity; and whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity.1 ˹Although˺ Our messengers already came to them with clear proofs, many of them still transgressed afterwards through the land.

Islam has been at war with all kafir to submit them to allah and the sharia since 621. Why the West allowsa single Muhammadan, or Communist for that matter, is beyond any logical, rational, reasonable comprehension considering their entire d’etre is to destroy, dismantle, and subjugate….

This Sura just chides Jews for–supposedly–not adhering to their scripture. It says nothing about Muslims not murdering others.

In that case why not apply this Muslim Law to the Muslim people who do mischief in the lands of those who don’t believe in Islam? Turnabout is fair play.

There are two possibilities: 1) that he didn’t know and was badly counseled and 2) that he did know and lied to the world that mohamedanism is a religion of peace. Both possibilities lead to the same conclusion: that he was ‘not fit for office’.

I had some fun last week forcing Grok to quote for me verbatim what 8:39 says, without consulting anybody else on @X. It did so correctly, ultimately conceding that the exception for “if they cease” implies a conversion to islam. It then invited me to quiz it on another verse, so I gave it 4:34 – the wife beating verse. It was fun
Ober Binsthok is an Israeli author who’s had similar battles w/ Grok, forcing it to make similar concessions. It’s probably just as well that Grok doesn’t have any sense of humiliation
One line of the Koran that Muslims themselves take out of context when trying to portray their religion as peaceful is “whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely”. When you put it in context you see:
[5.32] For this reason did We prescribe to the children of Israel that whoever slays a soul, unless it be for manslaughter or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew all men; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept alive all men; and certainly Our apostles came to them with clear arguments, but even after that many of them certainly act extravagantly in the land.
[5.33] The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement,
The statement about killing a soul is from the Jewish Mishna Sanhedrin 4:5. if any man has caused a single life to perish from Israel, he is deemed by Scripture as though he had destroyed a complete world, and he who saves a single life of Israel is deemed as though he had saved the whole world. The Koran says that Allah is the same as the God of the Jews. Since the Koran teaches violence it had to explain the Jewish teaching of not killing. So the above is how it did it.

Excellent explanation. This is how the quran was understood for over a thousand years. Any modern “interpretation” is simply taqiyya for infidels.
