The political and media elites have refused to call a halt to Muslim migrants, and have insisted foolishly, as former German Chancellor Angela Merkel did in 2015, that “wir schaffen das!” (“We can do this”), as she flung wide open the gates of Germany to nearly a million Muslim migrants that year, heedless of what that might mean for her country. She meant that “we can integrate Muslims into our societies without much difficulty.” A decade later, we see the folly of her blind faith.
David Betz, a professor of War In the Modern World at King’s College London, is simply calling for the indigenous peoples of western Europe to recognize the possibility of civil wars, between the Muslim migrants and the indigenous non-Muslims, for Muslims are taught in the Qur’an that they are “the best of peoples” and non-Muslims the “most vile of created beings,” and further learn that “Islam is to dominate and not to be dominated.” He is not trying to provoke a civil war, but to warn the indigenes to prepare for such a possibility. Those who claim he is “trying to start a civil war” are simply confusing someone who identifies, Cassandra-like, a grave danger so as to head it off, with those who want that grave danger to come to pass. Clearly Betz has no desire either for his own country, Great Britain, or any other European country, to endure a civil war between Muslim immigrants and indigenous non-Muslims.
Claiming that Betz is someone who is “ trying to start a civil war” is just the kind of charge that the political and media elites, too pusillanimous to admit to their colossal folly, would come up with, instead of taking his warning seriously and trying, as he hopes will happen, to prepare for the worst. Does anyone looking at the state of Europe today disagree with the following summary: The large-scale presence of Muslims in the countries of Western Europe has created for its indigenous inhabitants a situation that is much more unpleasant, expensive, and physically dangerous than would be the case without that large-scale presence?
Betz is not the only one warning about the possibility of civil wars in Europe. In 2021, two open letters were sent to the French government about the possibility of civil war. The first was signed by several dozen serving officers and retired generals. Their letter, published in the magazine Valeurs Actuelles, predicted that failure to act against “suburban hordes” — or residents of mainly immigrant suburban areas — and other groups who “scorn our country” would lead to “civil war” and deaths “in the thousands.”
Professor David Betz, in other words, is hardly alone; he’s not a vox clamantis in deserto. Others, especially among the military in France, claim that “civil war is brewing.” And even among many of those who do not foresee “civil war,” there is alarm over the millions of Muslims in their midst who show no signs of wanting to integrate, but rather, “to dominate and not to be dominated.” The electoral successes of anti-Muslim-immigration parties, including those who voted for the National Rally in France, the Reform Party in the UK, Alternative für Deutschland in Germany, Fratelli d’Italia in Italy, and the Party for Freedom, headed by Geert Wilders, in the Netherlands, are irrefutable evidence that voters are turning to the right on the subject of migration, Muslim migration, that they want stopped, and want as many of the Muslims already in their countries to be deported to their countries of origin. At first, such deportations should apply to those who are illegal immigrants and those who have been convicted of crimes. But the deportations should then extend to cover those who have not been employed, but chosen for years to batten on all the benefits the generous welfare states of Europe offer. These people are a net drain on the country; they offer nothing in return save for higher crime rates.
Like the French generals and soldiers, like Alice Weidel of Alternative für Deutschland and Geert Wilders of the Dutch Party For Freedom, Professor Betz sees the signs of societal dissolution and the possibility of civil war between Muslims and non-Muslims. Dismiss his dismissers, please, and listen up.

For better or worse the majority of British are “too nice” to fight a civil war. But disaffected minorities (labelled “right wing thugs” by the Prime Minister) will be ready to fight.
Civil conflicts in the UK will probably find their flash points around “migrant hotels” (paid for by the British tax-payer), and no-go zones, enclaves in British cities where the British aren’t welcome.
At present I don’t foresee full civil war, but I do foresee guerilla conflict breaking out, in which the army will be mobilised against civil disorder. Society could break down in some areas.
What that might lead to, is anyone’s guess. Bluntly, it depends on how violent immigrant communities are, and might become.
An effective leader, possibly military, will be required for the “culturally British”, but I don’t see one around at present.
