UK: Educational charity tells students that Vikings were ‘not all white’ and ‘some were Muslim’

The idea here, of course, is to make the native non-Muslim British students more welcoming of the Muslims who are steadily increasing their presence and power in Britain. The Brilliant Club is paving the way for Britain’s new overlords.

“Vikings were ‘not all white and some were Muslim’, pupils to be told in effort to ditch ‘Eurocentric ideas,'” by Ed Griffiths, GB News, June 1, 2025:

Schoolchildren are to be taught that Vikings were “not all white” and some were Muslim, according to guidance from an educational charity urging tutors to abandon “Eurocentric” ideas.

The Brilliant Club has instructed tutors placed in schools to ditch traditional narratives in favour of a “decolonised” approach that moves subjects away from a Western focus.

A guide produced by the charity suggests abandoning the idea that Vikings were a “homogenous community of blonde Scandinavians”.

Instead, tutors are told to consider teaching that Vikings were “a very diverse group of people” with “diverse religious beliefs”.

  1. Recently one of the Norse homelands had as its Minister of Culture a Muslim of Middle Eastern provenance. Some supposed scholars have absurdly claimed that certain weaving patterns of runes were actually the name of the Muhammadan deity.

    We do know that Moorish pirates raided and enslaved people from Iceland as late as the eighteenth century.

    Not that long ago, bo produced the idea that his community of evil filth had a big hand in the beginning of America. (If that had been True, the Constitution would not have been written with all ifs *Freedoms* and the equality of people).

    Britain also, had some ‘freedoms’ they granted to the people. If the Vikings had been part mozscummy dross, the nation would not have been anything like it really was; and the sinking we see today, would have happened a long, long time ago.
    Adherents of the evils of islime, do nothing worthwhile.

    I feel such sympathy for the young kids these days. It’s difficult to know what is True and what is false unless they have someone close to them who knows and is not afraid to say. I’m afraid those people are as scarce as hen’s teeth.

  7. Is there any explanation going along with this as to how we know these new facts? It sounds like the mindset has arisen among these people that, because some different narrative is “de-colonized” and “diverse” it must be good history, whether it happens to be true or not. I’d be interested to hear whether anyone has argued, on some rational basis, that it is true.

    Apart from that, why would anyone want to rebrand the Vikings? Because they were a race of humane, peace loving, Francis of Assisis? Or maybe because the peoples they conquered are indebted to them for introducing parliamentary democracy to their countries? Honestly, co-opting Vikings to globalism and diversity. Who’s next? Long John Silver?

    • There is kind of a rebranding and love affair with the Vikings going on in the US and Britain right now–vn without the claptrap about their being “pople of color” and Muslims, this is pretty bizarre stuff. How can you have not wanted to be extorted and raped?

      It’s like ‘the religion of peace,” and the “best of people” emulating the ‘perfect man.’ in showing “mercy and tolerance.’

  11. Guess that explains the murder, rapes & slavery we know that Vikings employed.

    • That’s the other thing. Vikings were traditionally detested, and even the Nordic countries, like Denmark and Norway, where most of the Viking conquerors originated, are embarrassed about that aspect of their history. I can’t imagine the English look at it w/ fondness

      So if some of the Vikings were muslim, are the English supposed to be more or less welcoming of them?

  14. Years ago there was a movie called The 13th Warrior which was a version of the Grendel story. Yes, one of the characters was supposed to be muslim.

    Some people believe everything they see on tv.

    • Way back in 1991 a Muslim character was inserted into the Robin Hood story. I thought ti was just a bit of exoticism at the time…

  18. Omg , I nearly peed my pants , reading this account !!!! I’m a Norse , I would venture to say that the Arabs / or any Muslims would be TERRIFIED by the Vikings (then) and most certainly would NOT be embraced in their community !!
