New in PJ Media:
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Chaos) really, really wants to be arrested over his defiance of Trump’s efforts to deport illegal migrants and stop the rioting in Los Angeles over the deportations. He is unlikely to get his way, but he is playing up the moment for all it’s worth.
The mediagenic leftist appears to be calculating that if he really were handcuffed and perp-walked, the experience would catapult him to front-runner status in the race for the 2028 Democrat presidential nomination, and make him the undisputed leader of all those who have been stirred up all these years to hate Donald Trump with burning intensity. It would add fuel to the Trump-is-a-dictator nonsense in the bargain. So for Newsom, there’s no downside.
Newsom himself ginned up the dispute, as Stephen Green pointed out on Monday morning. NBC News reported that Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, “threatened arrest for anyone who obstructs the immigration enforcement effort, including Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass — though he acknowledged that neither yet had ‘crossed the line.’”
Newsom took that hypothetical and ran with it as if Homan had been pounding on the door of his home at 4 a.m. and shouting at him over a bullhorn to surrender peacefully. ““He’s a tough guy,” Newsom said. “Why doesn’t he do that? He knows where to find me. That kind of bloviating is exhausting. So, Tom, arrest me. Let’s go.”
Inevitably, President Trump was asked to weigh in on this manufactured controversy, and he was happy to oblige. Asked if he thought Homan should arrest Newsom, Trump replied: “I would do it, if I were Tom. I think it is great. Gavin likes the publicity” — you can say that again, Mr. President — “but I think it would be a great thing. He’s done a terrible job. Look, I like Gavin Newsom, he’s a nice guy, but he’s grossly incompetent. Everybody knows. All you have to do is look at the little railroad he’s building. It’s about a hundred times over budget.”
This was music to Newsom’s ears. He posted the video of Trump’s remarks on X and commented: “The President of the United States just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor. This is a day I hoped I would never see in America. I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican this is a line we cannot cross as a nation — this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism.”

It only proves that a sitting Governor, like a sitting President is not above the law! Democrats’ words come back to haunt them.

Just cut federal funding to transit and roads till an audit is done on where the money is going on a unbuilt rail line with no track laid with billions spent and only thin air to see .Do an audit on where all billions of federal dollars going to the “homeless ” explosion going on in California who runs those “nonprofits” ? Do an audit on federal dollars going to education in California .Freeze future federal dollars to California until the governor agrees to follow federal laws on immigration. Have the FBI ,HLS and all those other alphabet agencies look into who is leading these rioting groups. Who is paying for the delivery of pallets of brick at non-construction site even before the riots show up. What groups of non-profits are getting federal funds connected to these groups .Arrest people around Newsom the people connected to working with the Chinese ,or Soros groups or Moslem terror groups or just plain home grow lunatic woke groups bent on violence. .Leave Newsom free to answer questions to the press and give excuses to why as a governor for two terms California and with a majority blue state on a federal and local level is in a mess? Let Newsom be the center of attention till everyone attached to him either is totally disgraced or ,jailed ,.or bankrupted .Treat Newsom the way the federal government treat and blue state IGs (looking at NYC next Ms james )Trump from 2015 to 2024 .

Just declare war on California and start sending in bombers to Los Angeles. What you have there is an attempted Aztlan takeover

Cut off federal funding. Problem would solve itself.

Is California disobeying federal law and refusing to obey and put itself as a “confederate state” toward the federal government ? Last time I checked under democratic Presidential administration there where threats to cut all aid to education ,or roads ,or any law or mandate made on a federal level for a state to obey. No governor threaten a sitting President to just disobey federal laws or mandates made at federal level . They follow the law then took it to the supreme court to try to get law changed if they could not get it change they follow it or risked lose all federal funding ..

If blue “states” think they can set up different laws that contradict federal laws the last time that happen was in the 1860s it got real ugly real fast .I guess that appears what the Chinese handlers of Newsom would like that ,we have no proof he has Chinese “handlers” .It seems many of the democrats are playing into our enemies hands disobeying a sitting president ,who is just following establish immigration laws that have been on the books for many decades. Some laws going back to the founding fathers giving the president the authority to do this. The president has the authority to call in the national guard to enforce federal law .It was done under a democratic president against the then governor of Georgia ,Wallace in the 1960s to stop segregation in colleges in his state.

Hello, Governor Mr. Izuzu. We are stuck with your sorry ass.
In Texas v. White, the Supreme Court stated that the Union of the States was “not created by the separate action of the States” but by a compact “to which the States were and are parties”. The Court also recognized that a state could not unilaterally secede from the Union.

she is encouraging people to oppose the agents, pretending that she was all for the local pd, and she’s still calling for ICE to “stop the raids,”……she is defending the illegals.

She is a communist agent from Cuba, not surprising at all.

And if the pretender to greatness in CA actually knew anything, he would be aware that *no one is above the law* even someone “sitting down on the job” in a “governor’s mansion.
He’s more like maxine waters and those fools in NJ who believe they are above the law and can go wherever they want, whenever they want, than someone who respects the law which is meant to apply to every citizen equally…..even when it means being arrested.
As someone said, “talk is cheap,” and as Clint said, “A man’s got to know his limitations.”

“Sheriff tells Newsom to put phone down, be quiet after anti-ICE riots response: ‘Doing nothing but fueling this process’”
“A California sheriff running for governor has slammed current Gov. Gavin Newsom for “fueling” the Los Angeles riots, telling the Democrat to “put his phone down” and “stay out of the way of law enforcement.”
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said the rioters clearly “are not protesting” Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and should not be left free to “facilitate the downfall of our civilized society.”
“They are trying to violently influence something by political action. That is what this is. That is everything that the Constitution stands against,” Bianco, who is running as a Republican, told Fox News.
“That is what law enforcement stands against, and that is what will facilitate the downfall of our civilized society. A civilized society has an adherence to the rule of law, and there is consequence for breaking that social compact,” he added.
He urged Newsom to “put his phone down … and be quiet because he is doing nothing but fueling this process.”
“He needs to stay out of the way of law enforcement. He knows nothing about this. He knows absolutely nothing about the enforcement of law. He despises the enforcement of law, and he has encouraged this,” Bianco said.”

I think the best strategy would be to ignore Newsom. Let him wither on the vine and don’t make him into any kind of martyr for the Left by arresting him—though regularly making fun of him, which he clearly deserves, is quite arguably a sound approach. After all, mocking stupidity as with mocking evil is the next best thing to crushing it and at times even better than the “direct approach.”
