He keeps calling it a “ceasefire” despite having rejected the notion of a “ceasefire” just days ago. And is the Iranian Islamic regime thus going to continue? What will happen if it resumes its efforts to make “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” a reality? We shall see, I suppose. Can’t avoid doing so.

I can’t believe this is a real ceasefire. Sounds like a lot of pressure on Israel to stop dismantling Iran’s war machine.

That is what a hudna is. According to Sharia law, when a muslim polity is weak it should ask for ceasefire. When it is stronger, it can by Sharia law, then break the ceasefire. Notice the term- ‘ceasefire’. It is not even close to some kind of peace treaty. And already Iran broke the established rules and Israel has said it will respond forcibly. I imagine that Israel would benefit from this ceasefire but it is the Israeli’s who do understand the precariousness of this whole ceasefire business.

Trump needs to end his obsession for peace at all costs. Israel was doing the right thing: they blew up the entrance of the notorious Evin prison and destroyed the Doomsday clock in the middle of Teheran that counts down to Israel’s extinction. Mossad should continue to target Basij & other Iranian institutions secretly, just like they would target nuclear facilities
In the meantime, Iran did launch missiles against the al Udeid air base in Qatar, which was an attempted attack on us. Just b’cos the missiles were intercepted doesn’t mean that there wasn’t retaliation. If Trump doesn’t want to respond, fine, but he doesn’t get to grant a new lease of life to the regime in Iran, like he did to Pakistan (which since nominated him for the Nobel Prize)

The Americans said it would be a WHILE til they had real full data….

Absolutely agree. It’d be a difficult task – many Iranians would die.
Most critically, the Iranians must have the will to sacrifice for this. The current regime has already murdered thousands of Iranians to gain and maintain power.
There can be no long term possibility of peace if the Ayatollahs are in charge in Iran. The supposedly 80% of Iranians who despise the current regime have no chance of defeating the armed and organized 20%, who are willing to quickly and ruthlessly slaughter the masses, if need be, and terrorize their families, etc. without assistance.
The Israeli leadership realizes this. They are trying to set the conditions by targeting the IRGC, military leadership, Evin Prison, the Basij, etc.

I was watching a discussion earlier in which 2 Iranians were present. They pointed out that due to the clampdown on the internet in Iran, news was slow to spread both within Tehran and in other cities – Mashhad, Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz, Ahvaz, Zahedan, et al
The point was that once internet was restored and most Iranians got to know of the extent of damage to the regime, it would trigger a revolution. Which is why it’s not likely to be restored even after the Israelis leave

As for Trump, perhaps a history lesson in Iran’s cease fire deals , not to speak so fast.

Iran has access to a huge amount of oil money. It won’t take them long to obtain new weapons. And time is what a cease fire gives them. The only way this ends good is if the people of Iran overthrow the government and a new one that truly wants peace in the world comes in. The current leadership will still hate Israel and America and will continue the attacks.

The vast majority of Shia Islam devotees reside in Iran. Through Pakistan only Sunni Islam has a nuclear capability with a stockpile of 170 warheads. It was Saudi Arabia and Libya who helped finance Pakistan’s nuclear program. They clearly saw Iran’s nuclear program as an Islamic nuclear arms race.
There was therefore a huge sigh of relief when the US destroyed much of Iran’s nuclear capacity. I wonder though to what extent the US liaised with Saudi Arabia before bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities? What favors will the US now demand of Saudi Arabia? Did Saudi Arabia finance the ‘bunker busting’ bombs carried by the US B-2 Stealth Bombers? Will any of the world’s Sunni Muslim countries ever thank the US for disarming Iran? I won’t hold my breath.
