The French and Saudis postponed their summit to establish a “Palestinian” state, but the idea is still very much alive. More on the postponement, or cancellation, is here: “The French-Saudi 2-State Solution Debate: Postponed or Canceled?,” by Damilola Banjo, PassBlue, June 16, 2025:
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres restated his commitment to the two-state solution, a much-debated path toward the peaceful co-existence of Israel and Palestine as two sovereign nations.
A UN conference led by France and Saudi Arabia and mandated by a General Assembly resolution last year, was scheduled to be held from June 17-20. But it was postponed on June 13, immediately after the recent escalation between Israel and Iran began.
“The Secretary-General remains committed to a negotiated two-State solution, in accordance with United Nations resolutions, international law, and prior agreements, so that Israel and Palestine can finally live side by side, in peace and security, with Jerusalem as the capital of both States,” said Farhan Haq, UN deputy spokesperson, on June 16….
Supporters of the vaunted “two-state solution” need to study the doctrine of jihad before presuming to dictate to Israel that it must accept this spurious “solution.” The “solution” must consist of “two states” because these people cannot imagine any other possibilities that could keep the peace. The truth is that there is no permanent “solution” to the conflict, and a so-called “two-state solution” would weaken Israel, for it would undoubtedly include some withdrawal from part of the West Bank. Only deterrence — Israel’s overwhelming military might – keeps the peace between Jews and Muslim Arabs, now and in the future. The IDF is the only reliable peacekeeper. António Guterres should have proposed a UN resolution along these lines: “Israel has fought four major wars for its existence. In light of this history, and of the permanent jihad it faces, Israel has certainly earned the right to determine for itself the conditions of its own security. The UN will support whatever decisions the Israelis make to ensure their own survival.”
Whatever one thinks of the so-called “two-state solution” – the very name of which presumes that there is a “solution” to a conflict which, in truth, given the doctrine of jihad, will never end — Farhan Haq is quite wrong that once a “Palestinian” state is established, “Israel and Palestine can finally live side by side, in peace and security, with Jerusalem as the capital of both States.” Such a “solution” would have one sure effect: it will give the “Palestinians” a new base, as Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza did in 2005, to pursue the jihad against what remains of Israel. It would also limit Israel’s freedom of negotiation, precluding its ability to annex Jewish villages and cities in Judea and Samaria, a/k/a the West Bank. Israel has a strong claim to retain those cities and villages, where 600,000 people now live – indeed, it has two independent claims to the entire West Bank. First, Judea and Samaria was part of the territory included in the Mandate for Palestine, which was itself created for the sole purpose of establishing the Jewish National Home. Israel was unable to enforce its legal claim until after the Six-Day War, when it came into possession of the West Bank by force of arms, having driven out the Jordanian occupiers. Since the “Palestinians” continue to insist that no Jews should remain in the West Bank, the “two-state solution” likely requires that the 600,000 Jews who have been living there would be forced to leave.
Israel has a second, independent claim to retain possession of the West Bank, based on U.N. Resolution 242, by which Israel is entitled to redraw its borders based on the need for “secure and recognized borders,” or, in another formulation, to “secure and defensible borders.” The author of Resolution 242, Lord Caradon, believed the 1949 Armistice Lines were very poor borders, reflecting nothing more than where the armies stood when the fighting stopped. Many military men, including members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who were sent by President Lyndon B. Johnson to study the matter, concluded that for its defense Israel needed to retain, at the very least, military control of the Jordan Valley and the Judean heights, and the invasion route from the east; on its northern border, they also said the country needed to retain the Golan Heights that loom above northern Israel, and from which Syrian forces, between 1949 and 1967, had launched endless attacks on Jewish farmers below. It is all this appears to have been thoroughly forgotten.
While Guterres, Haq and others say that they believe that there is a “solution” to the conflict, those who have studied the texts and teachings of Islam believe there is no end to the jihad against Israel, and the most important guarantor of peace between Muslim Arabs and Israelis is the deterrent power of the Jewish state, which must be seen to be overwhelmingly more powerful than any of its enemies. Those who have taken the time to study the doctrine of jihad do not call for a chimerical “two-state solution,” but for a result that is most likely to keep the peace between Arabs and Jews: that is, the Arab perception of Israel’s overwhelmingly superior military might. Israel needs to properly explain, as it has not to date, first, that the war being made against it is a jJihad that has no end; second, that peace can nonetheless be maintained through deterrence; third, that Israel’s legal claim to territory under the Mandate for Palestine includes the entire West Bank; fourth, that Israel has a right, having fought four major wars for its very existence, as well as four minor wars, to decide for itself the minimum conditions of its own security, including control of the Jordan Valley and the Judean Heights.
Let us hope that this unwise resolution remains permanently “stalled.” If passed, it would have the effect of pressuring Israeli leaders to negotiate a “two-state solution” that would be a prescription for future hostilities.

Yes, that statement that “A ‘two state solution’ would make maintaining peace impossible.” is exactly right . For Hamas had proven not only the its words but ,more terrible murderous actions, starting on October 7th, that it wants to completely destroy the State of Israel and even commit genocide worldwide on the Jewish people. That Hamas jihad attack and continued further Islam terror/murder attacks reveals the terrible folly and total lack of wisdom in the every idea of a two-state solution.
Therefore, that so called “two state solution” is not really a valid idea and not a genuine solution. It will definitely not stop this awful Israeli –Muslim land conflict.
Thus, a “two state solution” is out of the question. .This is because a “two state solution” not really a “solution” but an Islamic ploy of deception , a smokescreen and hoax and a fraud.
To put all this in another way , October7th with those Hamas Islamic terror murderous jihadist attacks into Israel from Gaza exposes that even the idea of some people of dividing Jerusalem as well as other parts of the State of Israel between the Jewish people of the Muslim/ Arabs is nothing but folly. To engage the madness of such “talks” is a hoax and a farce .This is because in the so called “negotiations” between the heads of the Jewish nation of Israel and the leaders of the “Palestinians” the Muslim /Arabs the “Palestinian” leaders will speak the truth only when in happens to fit their agenda. The rest of the time the will be speaking half-truths and outright lies. For their goal is to obtain all of the land of the State of Israel. Even in it takes much time and it means getting the land piece by piece. Therefore, those “peace talks” are a hoax.
For the “Palestinian” leaders are employing what is the Islamic doctrine of Taqiyya . Which is the Islamic dogma that lying and deception are good things to do as long as it’s done for the cause of the advancement of Islam. This insidious scheme is part of the stealth jihad . Such sly and something subtle strategy of disingenuous speech, lying deception of achieving the goal of all the land of Israel a war ploy that will be a disaster if the heads of the State of Israel are foolish enough to agree to divide the land of Israel with Muslim /Arabs ,the “Palestinians.” For if such a “peace dialogue” results in a divided land, the outcome will literally be murder. For “Palestinian” leader will allow the jihadists use that land as a base to launch murderous rocket attacks in to Israel. As for example, Hamas of Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Such false hopes for peace which are based on the foundation of lies are nothing new when it comes to Israel. For example, the Bible in Psalm 55:20, 21. Reads “Such men do violence to those at peace with them and break their promised word; their speech is smoother the butter but their thoughts are of war.” [N.E.B.]

That assertion is very true that “ ‘the two state solution.’ would make maintaining peace impossible,.”
This subject was explained in a rather clear way in the newspaper entitled The Epoch Times April 3-9, 2024, A-14. Which informs its reader that ”Before October 7th 2023 there was a de facto three-state solution , given that Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza were all separate states ruled by their own governments, two of which were illegitimate without scheduled elections.
It was not Israel, but the people of Gaza and the West Bank who institutionalized the “river to the sea” agenda of destroying its neighbor.
Israel would have been content to live next to an autonomous Arab Gaza and West Bank that did not seek to destroy Israel in their own ‘one –state solution.’
Furthermore, Hamas had proven not only the its words but ,more terrible murderous actions, starting on October 7th, that it wants to completely destroy the State of Israel and even commit genocide worldwide on the Jewish people. That Hamas jihad attack and continued further Islam terror/murder attacks reveals the terrible folly and total lack of wisdom in the every idea of a two-state solution.

The two state solution really means eventually a one-state solution, i.e., no Israel. Anyone still beholden to a two-state solution is extremely naive at best, extremely malicious at worst.

The very idea of a so called two State solution” is such folly and nonsense that even that leftist US President t Franklin D. Roosevelt i with all liberal socialist ideology still had more common sense and understanding than Joe Biden ,with comrades of the Red/Green alliance, for Biden is still striving to obtain that folly of an idea of a “two state solution.” Which in reality is no solution but a recipe for disaster. The reason why this is so is because a “Palestine state” that would be, no doubt, controlled by wicked jihad-minded Muslims with all their Islamic intolerance would only be a set up for a catastrophe in the Middle East.
As President Roosevelt, had so very wisely declared, “No compromise can end that conflict. There never has been—there never can be—successful compromise between good and evil. Only total victory can reward the champions of tolerance, and decency, and freedom, and faith.”

Yes, I have the solution. The tech then takes a hammer to the screen, pulls out all of the wires and smashes the hard drive.
The “two-state solution”….a misnomer of gigantic proportions….is no solution. Those who propose it, are intent on the complete destruction of Israel and the Jews.
abu taleb says
The bigger “two-state solution”, dar-ul Islam and dar-ul Harb, created by Islam, is impossible to be in peace, because by definition, muslims must attack dar-ul Harb.
There won’t be any peace when Islam still exists. There may be temporary peace when Islam supporters are in the (much) weaker side in power, but they will always try to annihilate the non muslims when the circumstance is right..

BRILLIANT, mate, to see that big-picture parallel! I will keep that one up my sleeve, I think, for future reference.
And let’s note that it is similar to 1/ the division of Cyprus 2/ the division of India (into Muslim Pakistan and non-Muslim Hindu-majority India, but then ‘pakistan’ split into ‘Pakistan’ and ‘Bangladesh’), and the division of the Sudan .. or of East and West Timor.
Whenever a territory is divided into Muslim and non-Muslim halves, the Muslim half NEVER abandons its ambition of devouring and Islamising the non-Muslim half.

Anyone who proposes a “two-state solution” is either:
1. Grossly misinformed
or
2. Wants Israel destroyed.

Well written! The document is rational, realistic, and true to the historical documents which re-created the Jewish State. I agree, without doubt, that Islamic Jihad against Israel is alive and well, and growing. There is no way that those who call themselves Palestinians will ever make lasting peace with Israel, just as history show us, and as this article points out.

There was an initiation of two-states about 20 years ago; Israel completely withdrew from the Strip. This was like reverse ethnic cleansing.
The Gazans could have taken this opportunity to build hotels, factories, farms, etc. Instead they chose to “invest” in tunnels and rockets and then complain their population were impoverished.
