    • I think I know where the next bunker buster will hit, and Iran is probably moving it now.

    • If the regime falls & is replaced by an anti-islamic one, then I’d be fine w/ them keeping it, as long as they work w/ both Israel & US in maintaining it and regulating it for purely civilian use

      At this point, given that the Iranian regime looks likely to fall, I’m against damaging much of Iran’s infrastructure, since the next government is likely to need it. Not to threaten Israel, but rather ward off threats from rogue neighbors like Turkey, Afghanistan & probably even Pakistan

        I get your point, but:

        I wouldn’t take any chances: I would wait for the Iranian regime to actually fall – and a government friendly to the West – at least like the one prior to the 1979 revolution – actually takes over.

        If I may, I have a respectful request. Perhaps you could clarify the issue.

        Assuming this newly discovered facility is part of Iran’s nuclear processing complex, I’m missing the point of preserving it. My problem with preserving any of the Iranian nuke processing facilities is the example of Turkey’s Islamic history.
        Given that Turkey was once a true ally of the U S, and Ataturk had worked wonders, it’s tragic to watch it all slide inexorably back into backwards Islam. Erdogan seems to want to revive the Caliphate with himself a Caliph, naturally. I keep expecting to see him wearing a “Make the Caliphate Turk Again!” turban.
        It seems fairly clear Turkey is probably going to be the major military player in the region. I see what you’re saying about Iran’s neighboring scavengers. But since the other Iranian nuke facilities are so damage, and their top scientists are dead, I’m not seeing how they would be of any use in fending off those aggressors.
        Iran never needed nuclear for civilian use, only aggressive military use against any and all Israelis, Sunnis and Kaffirs.
        I thought the reason to use bunker busters was to make it impossible to get to any usable processed uranium, products and equipment etc.

        So why preserve any of the nuke/related facilities for a, hoped for, anti-Islamic government? Even if the Iranians pull off a secular government, a la Ataturk, there is a strong probability it will revert back to an Islamic one, one that would have inherited nukes.

    • How do you do it, Mr. Fitzgerald—always, always, the ready wit, the apt reference?! If wars were fought with words, with you on the side of right and sanity, then by now TIRI would be a shriveled olive pit, with Persian gardens blooming from the ashes, and Israel free to build on its scientific, technological, medical, viticultural, horticultural, etc. etc. successes instead of sacrificing the best and brightest of its youth in this vital war against ultimate evil. May your pen never run dry.

    I was thinking only yesterday that… what if Natanz and Fordow weren’t the only ones? What if there was something else, somewhere else.

    And while we’re on the subject.. I just keep wondering what the mohammedans have been doing on (or, rather, under and inside of) the Temple Mount, all these years…That Dome of the Rock… what’s under it? I would assume the very worst one can imagine, then proceed from there.

  6. I do not see how this could end well (end well = certainty that Iran is not able to make nukes, or dirty bombs, now and in the future) without verifying on site – on site – that the centrifuges (all of them, including those hidden throughout Iran) are completely destroyed.

    Further, in order to end well, all of the already enriched uranium, where ever it is hidden, must be found and removed.

    How can this be accomplished with certainty without troops on the ground if the current regime survives?

    It cannot, unless the surviving Ayatollahs allow unfettered access to Iran. If the Islamic regime loses power, whoever replaces them must still allow complete access to find the centrifuges and enriched uranium.

    Even if the USA deploys its best bunker busters, that does not mean the centrifuges are destroyed. As I recall Germany helped Iran build the underground shelters at Fordow?? One cannot pinpoint where these centrifuges are by satellite, and Iran may have hidden entrances miles away, etc.

    Verification would be difficult even with troops, or non-troop experts, on the ground.
