The French believe, or at least pretend to believe that new promises from the Palestinian Authority will be kept, and a new day has dawned, reform is here to stay: “France says Palestinian Authority makes ‘unprecedented commitments’ to reform ahead of conference on statehood,” by , and , CNN, June 11, 2025:
“Recognizing Palestinian statehood is consistent with France’s position in support of the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people,” the source said. “As part of the June 18 conference, it must contribute meaningfully to the momentum behind implementing the two-state solution, based on the principles reaffirmed by the President of the Republic.”…
There is no ”momentum” for implementing the soi-disant “two-state solution” except in the mind of Emmanuel Macron and his collaborators. It is, in fact, dead in the water. The Trump administration is against it. And most important, the Israelis who once were willing to entertain the idea of a “Palestinian state” — think of the offer for a surrender of territory to the Palestinians that Ehud Barak made to Yasser Arafat in 2000, and that Ehud Olmert made to Mahmoud Abbas in 2008, both of which the Palestinian side turned down — have changed their minds. After the October 7, 2023 atrocities carried out by Hamas, support for a Palestinian state among Jewish Israelis, which had been steadily decreasing, has fallen to its lowest level, 11%, and has remained there ever since.
How does Emmanuel Macron propose to force Israel to agree to the creation of a Palestinian state when nine out of ten Israeli Jews are dead-set against the idea? Will Macron send the French military to force Israel to be squeezed back within the 1949 armistice lines, the Jewish state stripped of its indispensable defenses in the Jordan Valley and with a nine-mile-wide waist from Qalqilya to the sea? How will this pipsqueak Clausewitz of the rue du Faubourg St.-Honoré persuade Israel to surrender its legal rights to Judea and Samaria (both included in the territory of Mandatory Palestine), territory which, in addition, the Jewish state badly needs for its security? Will he be calling out the French Foreign Legion?
The letter, which France said was signed by Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas, includes condemnation of the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, a call on Hamas to immediately release all hostages, and pledges to hold elections and reform the authority, according to excerpts shared with CNN.
“Hamas will no longer rule Gaza and must hand over its weapons and military capabilities to the Palestinian Security Forces, which will oversee their removal outside the occupied Palestinian territory, with Arab and international support,” the Élysée Palace cited Abbas as writing….
This letter promising “reforms” in the PA is certainly not an achievement of which Macron can boast. The Palestinian Authority has been at daggers drawn with Hamas ever since 2007, when Hamas killed hundreds of the Fatah fighters and expelled from Gaza those who remained alive. Of course the PA wants to see Hamas disarmed.
Questions for Emmanuel Macron:
When will the P.A. end its “Pay-For-Slay” program? If Abbas refuses to end it, what will your government do to force a change? Who will oversee the next presidential election to be held by the PA, since Abbas has refused to hold one over two decades?
Who will determine the territory to be included in the new “state of Palestine”? Will it include Judea and Samaria, that the League of Nations meant to be included in Mandatory Palestine, and then in the resulting Jewish state?
If this state of Palestine were to be established, who will decide what happens to the 500,000 Israeli Jews who now live in Judea and Samaria?
Will this new “State of Palestine” be demilitarized, so that its police force will be limited to possessing rifles?
What will happen to East Jerusalem? Will the Old City now be put under international jurisdiction?
Will the new “State of Palestine” agree to let Jews pray on the Temple Mount, the most sacred place in Judaism?
Questions, questions. Emmanuel Macron has not thought through any of this. All he knows is that there are seven million Muslims in France, and he hasn’t the faintest idea how to deal with them, other than trying to curry favor by promoting a Palestinian state.

More importantly, what part of France is he willing to give up to its Arab citizens and migrants – perhaps the ‘No go’ zones that surround Paris? As France was one of the colonial powers that carved up the Ottoman Empire following WW !, it had its voice then – but not now!

French culture has many admirable aspects about it. But, nonetheless, France as a nation has long had an exaggerated sense of its own greatness. And militarily speaking, the last time that France won a war on its own was the Franco-Dutch War of the 1670s. Thus, conclude accordingly.
Presently, it is losing yet another war and that is the war to keep France France—and it’s not working out well because France has foolishly allowed literally millions of Muslims to immigrate to France, thus very likely ensuring destruction from within because Islam is never grateful and always seeks supremacy over the rest of mankind. And why France’s stupid and cowardly present position on the moronic idea of Palestinian statehood should be treated with the utter contempt it deserves.
France gets so much wrong, never more so than on this “matter.” Ain’t looking good for France.

I seem to remember that the French, after they moved into Algeria to clean out the rabid muslim pirates, found themselves very much in the same situation that Israel faces. They had never ending attacks of all varieties on their people and institutions and continual clashes and destruction. They sent in DeGaulle to fix the situation which of course he couldn’t so in typical French fashion they pulled out with their tails between their legs and capitulated to islam.
Now they have the temerity to squeak their ludicrous demands at Israel who has the guts to do something about their never-ending terrorist problem. Amazing!
