Leftist politicians denounce Trump for strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, call for impeachment

They are decrying the fact that the strikes were “executed without congressional authorization,” but there are plenty of precedents for that from Obama and Biden, and authorization in the War Powers Resolution:

The War Powers Resolution of 1973 requires that the president notify Congress within 48 hours of deploying American troops if a formal declaration of war has not already been declared. The resolution also requires that the president withdraw any forces deployed in a conflict within 60 days if Congress has not formally declared war.

The law was intended as a constriction of presidents’ authority to start a war. Yet, in practice it has done the opposite. Rather than using military action simply to respond to an imminent attack, presidents have read the statute as a license to act for 60 days without congressional approval.

  5. The notorious “squad” of ugly …a bunch of loudmouth idiots, supporting evil wherever and whenever they can, do not realize that they know-nothing. Know-nothings regarding the Constitution, nor their responsibilities. Actually, they are likely, at least faintly, aware that they understand nothing; so they try to cover that fact with loud, demanding voices. Screech, screech.

    Firstly, the President did not….***not**** ….declare war.
    Secondly, every one of those ugly squad members has broken laws. They have no grounds for declaring that they …***they**** ….need to “reign him in.”

    One can only imagine the phone lines burning between them….and who gets to speak first. What evil, colossal idiots thrust upon us by other idiots.

    She should study up on the intersection of the President as Commander in Chief and sole person who determinines US foreign policy and Congress as the sole branch that can declare war (although as of late, some federal district court judges think they have powers not constitutionally given to them).

    In the meantime, I’ve heard that she is an ace at serving a 16 year old single malt Scotch straight-up.

    • She, and the others listed above, have somehow gotten the idea that because idiots (many of them of the islime variety) *elected* them to Congress, they now know the Law and are experts on the Constitution.

      A licensed attorney may today represent an individual suing a big corporation; and then tomorrow, the same attorney may represent a big corporation being sued by a *little* guy and the elements of both cases could be the same.

      These clowns in Congress, supposedly *representing* the People, couldn’t represent themselves in a civil action.

  15. Is she this clueless? Everyday America is fighting in about 20 countries across the globe. For example, before things degraded in the last 50 years, Chesty Puller, a US marine, served in continual combat rolls from WW1 through the Korean War. He did a lot of fighting in Central America in the 1920s and 1930s. The USA is not alone. Many other countries are fighting multiple battles everyday. The Press publishes the conflicts that they choose. To give a couple examples out of thousands, Egypt bombs Syria all the time. Some of my coworkers were flying out of Libya in 1978 (if I remember right). While they were at the airport, some planes flew over and bombed the airport.
