The article below is quite correct that Muslims would never afford Christians in Riyadh the same courtesy. And it is correct that this is an ostentatious gesture of supremacism, and a hint of the intent to conquer. But it is quite incorrect that these Muslims want to take “revenge” on the West. This isn’t some expression of anger at colonialism, which is actually only expressed in order to intimidate gullible leftists. The supremacist impulse is baked into Islam. The Ottomans weren’t taking “revenge: on the Roman Christians they had conquered when they covered, in a manner similar to how these Muslims in Italy acted now, the icons of Hagia Sophia with giant Islamic medallions. The idea is always to express “Allahu akbar,” that is, that Allah is greater than other gods.

The second: the leaders of the community, whether they are authoritative for religious, economic or political reasons, are doubly guilty, because they have done nothing to remedy the obscene gesture we are talking about. Indeed, to tell the truth, they are the ones truly responsible, if only for the fact that they were careful not to remove that cloth (and very probably ordered someone in time to put it on: I cannot prove it, but I am sure that is what happened). The third: the preachers of tolerance and integration are the real armed gang (from their stupid obtuseness) of Islamic fundamentalism, because they do not grasp the fundamentals of these events and continue to talk nonsense about a “pacification” that they want to obtain by doing exactly the opposite of what is needed. Let me explain: respect means knowing where you live, whose house you are in, what the rules of the game are.
If you are a Christian and go to Riyadh you will manage your religious faith knowing that you are in a place that imposes different rules: by adapting you show that respect that is due (and right) for the house that hosts you. If, on the other hand, you are a Muslim and you are in Italy but you choose daily, stubbornly, provocatively to behave in a disrespectful or, worse, offensive way towards places and people, then your true intention emerges, which is to conquer the center of the scene, power, and control of the situation by force and oppression.
This is exactly what NON-minority fringes of many Islamic communities want: to take a historic (and violent) revenge against a West that in the meantime reaches out to its executioner with a gesture of peace that is first of all useless, secondly ridiculous (but it would be better to say tragic). The dynamics between peoples and religions are managed with extreme rigor, without making any concessions. The ayatollahs (so widespread on the left) of “let’s love each other” are, in fact, the best friends of Bin Laden and his grandchildren.
