Israeli strikes hit ‘heart’ of Iran’s nuclear program, Iranians had material for nine nuclear bombs

The Israeli strikes are likely to have saved the world from a great deal of destruction.

“Israel hits the ‘heart’ of Iran’s nuclear program in Natanz facility strike,” by Caitlin McFall, Greg Wehner, and Rachel Wolf, Fox News, June 12, 2025:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that one of Iran’s top nuclear facilities had been hit in Thursday night’s strike against the regime.

“Iran has produced enough highly enriched uranium for nine atom bombs, nine,” Netanyahu said. “In recent months, Iran is taking steps that it has never taken before, steps to weaponize this enriched uranium. And if not stopped, Iran could produce a nuclear weapon in a very short time.”

The Natanz Nuclear Facility – one of Tehran’s key nuclear sites and which has been flagged by security experts that in coordination with the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, could produce enough weapons-grade uranium to produce 11 nuclear weapons within a month – has been hit in the strikes, though the extent of the damage remains unknown.

“We struck at the heart of Iran’s nuclear enrichment program. We struck at the heart Iran’s nuclear weaponization program,” Netanyahu said in live remarks. “We targeted Iran’s main enrichment facility in Natanz.

“We targeted Iran’s leading nuclear scientists working on the Iranian bomb,” he added….

  1. I wonder if this caused the Ayatollah to lose faith in Allah, or if he chalks this up to the Iranian people’s transgressions that displeased Allah? I doubt that he realized that it was foolhardy to taunt and provoke Israel into a preemptive strike by Iran’s action in enriching nuclear material and repeatedly threatening Israel with annihilation.

    Here’s a pro tip: Don’t provoke a war with a country that would have air supremacy and complete command of the electromagnetic spectrum in the event of an engagement.

      I can just see him asking one of his aides: What is this “electromagnetic spectrum.”

      No doubt the ayatollah chalks it up to someone not wearing their hijab correctly. He has any number of backwards thinking processes at his disposal from the “mother load of bad ideas” that is islam.

  5. So what have they done w/ all that Uranium? Have they seized it? I doubt it’s something that can simply be set aflame unlike, say, gasoline. Nor will that Uranium be degraded from 60% to 6%

    • That’s why we should hit it with a nuke. Convert the entire facility into a lake of molten glass.

      • If using a nuclear weapon is the only way that we can be certain that Iran doesn’t get nukes, then it has to be done. If Iran ever gets nuclear weapons you can be 100% certain they will use them, and it wont just be against Israel.

        If all else fails, it may be necessary to use a small tactical nuke.

        But the “optics” would not be good.

        • James, we’ve all placed so much value in our non-nuclear-armed adversaries’ opinions about nuclear weapons as to make them irrelevant. No one fears we will use them.

          Our grandfathers faced a sizable, determined enemy, and used nuclear weapons to save lives — ours and theirs. If they had nuclear weapons on 7 DEC 1941, would they have waited 3.5 years and sacrificed 407,316 of our finest American men before using them?

          We now face a determined enemy at least 25X the size of the Japanese empire. We don’t have the money, military, and especially the national will to invade, conquer, and indefinitely occupy Dar al-Islam.

          The optics I’m seeing here is no choice. I don’t think winning this 1403-year zero-sum war without nuclear weapons is possible.

    • The damage would depend on whether Israel ruptured the atomic containers. But they did two other things. They probably set back their ability to deliver the bombs and create more atomic material.

      If tactical nukes need to be used to permanently freeze the uranium etc. then so be it. Like Lucifer in Dante’s “Divine Comedy”.

  9. At the same time that some of the world is in a fury and talking about Gaza (and the so-called palestinian plight) Israel hits Iran hard. Gaza has an unlimited supply of jihadists that come from all muslim nations to replenish the horde. You could go on forever pinned down fighting that. Does anyone really think that only leftist protesters in the USA are fighting for the cause?

    A difference between the leftists and the jihadists is the left wont pick up a gun and us it to fight if their life depended on it. The left must have cutouts to do the serious work. Cutouts that are far away from their leftist organizers.

    On the other hand jihadists will use any weapon they can get against you, anytime, anyplace, anywhere.

    This Israel battle plan could turn out to have shades of the WWII Battle of Midway in terms of really hurting the enemy in a way that makes it impossible for them to recover from it. Israel not only faked out Iran they faked out the World.

    As an American I will say to Israel…that was smart, very good, well done.

  10. I hope Israel was successful in destroying these nuclear sites and would love to see a democratic government in Iran.

    On another note it’s funny how our political leaders and government can spend billions of dollars and expend so much energy to build bombs that can destroy the world, but can’t fix the potholes in the road.
