Once again we see that in the Islamic tradition, the responsibility for making sure that men aren’t tempted falls entirely upon women. Those who fail to prevent this temptation can be punished accordingly.

Tragically, there is much incest in western society as well. Personally, I know of far too many cases. Studies show that as many as 20% of females in our society have been sexually abused (usually by a family member) before age 18. I don’t know that it is any more prevalent in muslim society.
The big difference is that when it comes to light in our society we punish the perpetrator, Not doing so is beyond disgusting. Actually condoning such acts and giving carte blanche to the perverts is unimaginable.

To be fair, that number in the west includes unwanted touch, which while serious, can fall far short of the brutality of rape. Impregnation from rape of a child by a father is a heinous crime. “Research indicates that about 1 in 5 girls are victims of child sexual abuse.” Search on that premise leads to this statement: “A large majority of perpetrators are known to the child.” Known to is a term for a larger group than just family. Anyone paying attention has seen numerous reports of teachers and coaches behaving egregiously. The US numbers are higher as they also reflect the fact that US children are actually asked because adults actually care.
So a child can never leave her house if she’s a muslim and yet be told by an authoritative imam that those outgrown clothes made it all her responsibility. They can’t buck authority as we saw with women in Iran, because their punishment was rape. Nuclear inspectors sent to Iran complained that they were sexually assaulted. The muslim women on recent video here complained that they were committed to asylums for complaining about constant rape by their fathers and brothers. A system like islam is designed to serve up victims for rapists. Their book itself tells women their clothes are an excuse. I wouldn’t be so quick to assume their numbers are low.

I’m not suggesting muslim numbers are low just that our numbers aren’t low either. It’s no excuse of course. There are lots of differences and you’ve pointed out a few. The biggest difference, as I see it, is that in our society it’s a perversion and against the law while in islam it seems to be acceptable. Mind you, that’s a pretty big difference.

This reminds me of a bit making the rounds on X 1-2 years ago. A UK researcher did a genetic study of Pakistanis and found the rate of father-daughter incest was at least 60x that of the general population of the world. He was not allowed to publish this and used X to get the word out.

And even his being alonwe with her–whatever she is wearing–her father may rape her. It is *up to the child* to make sure that her mother or siblings are with her. How she–who has no power–is supposed to manage this is unclear. But is her fault if hr own father rapes her–because he is after all a man.
