Iranian navy commander: ‘Israel is not even in the same league… We have been training for this for 26-27 years’

The Islamic Republic of Iran has been training for war with Israel for over a quarter of a century, while those who sounded the alarm about this were dismissed as “Islamophobes.”

“Senior Iran Navy Commander General Reza Abbasi: Iran Has Only Demonstrated A Fraction Of Its Capabilities — Israel Is Not In Our League; We Have Been Training For This For 26–27 Years,” MEMRI, June 15, 2025:

Senior Iranian Navy commander General Reza Abbasi appeared on Channel 1 (Iran) on June 15, 2025, stating that Israel is not even “in the same league” as Iran in terms of military power and capability. He said that the “lunatic” Netanyahu is in no position to withstand Iran’s armed forces, and that Iran has so far revealed only a “fraction” of its capabilities. Abbasi added that Iran has “very high capabilities” and is waiting to assess the enemy’s condition, noting, “we have been training for this for 26–27 years.”

General Reza Abbasi: “Israel is not even in the same league as our dear country, in terms of military power and capability.

“Rest assured that the lunatic called… I don’t want to use foul words… Netanyahu should know full well that he is in no position to withstand our armed forces.

“We can confront the enemy on different fronts. I’ve already said that so far, we have shown only a fraction of our capabilities.

“Our beloved air force, our beloved navy, our ground forces – we have very high capabilities, and we are waiting to see the situation of the enemy. We make our decision on the basis of our enemy’s situation. We have been training for this for 26-27 years.”

    Israel has an ancient Book in which are detailed many battles with their evil enemies. They know how to fight when they have to.

  5. I just had a look at Tucker´s interview with Bannon. Bannon says he supports Israel, but he doesn´t do anything to back that claim up. Tucker obviously despises jews. The comments section is soothing with antisemitism. God bless Israel, as far as I´m concerned.

    • No, when he was Trump’s advisor, Bannon was the one who used to urge Trump to move the embassy to Jerusalem: Jared & Cohn did not. He has not only been an enthusiastic supporter of Israel, but an enthusiastic opponent of Iran. My only beef w/ him: he conflates today’s mullahs w/ the ancient Persians of Darius & Xerxes who fought the Greeks at Marathon, Thermopylae and Salamis, which is an insult to the Achaemenids by calling the mullahs “Persians”. That term should be reserved for those Iranians who have both apostatized from islam, and wish to transform Iran into a non-muslim country, not merely a non-islamic republic

      Tucker is antisemitic, but what’s worse: he’s now totally bought & paid for by the Emiratis. When he was at FNC, he’d often rail against the Saudis for 9/11, which was justified then in the pre-MbS era, and even on some occasions like the Pensacola shootings. But he’s never had a word to say against Qatar, which after MbS took over, has taken up the job of being the home base of the muslim brotherhood. He also was impressed by his visit to the Emirates, which was fair, since they are moderate, but he’s conflated that policy as being Qatar’s as well

      Add to that is his total ignorance about Iran: he has claimed that occupying Iran would be a much bigger job than Iraq or Afghanistan. For one thing, nobody in the US has ever suggested occupying Iran: at worst, the regime would be overthrown, and then the Iranians can figure out how to move forward. He then assumes that the Iranians are as devoted to islam as were the Afghans & Iraqis, and therefore, that nothing would change. Incidentally, Iran, far from being a graveyard of empires, has historically been an international battlefield for Macedonians, Arabs, Mongols, Turks and Afghans. In fact, b/w the Samanids and the Pahlevis, there wasn’t one Iranic dynasty that ruled Iran: every one of them was Turkish, except for the Mongol Ilkhanate of Hulegu Khan. Which is why reclaiming “Persian” nationalism makes de-islamization absolutely necessary – to eviscerate Iran’s rule by foreign dynasties

      Tucker will quickly find himself pretty isolated. It’s a sad devolution of someone who I once admired, particularly his FNC segments w/ Mark Steyn

Apparently Pakistan promised Iran that if Israel attacked Iran then Pakistan would nuke Israel. The Paki’s must have chickened out, because they are in complete denial of this promise. Also twenty-one Arab muslim countries are forming an alliance against Israel. We are living in the most dangerous times our world has ever known. I’ve been saying this for decades, the anti-christ will come from Turkey, and if it’s not Erdogan, then he is certainly paving the way for him.

      • Phil. at the moment it’s an alliance of condemnation against Israel, and Saudi Arabia is one of those Islamic countries that have come out to condemn Israel. Presently I also couldn’t see Saudis getting involved in any military operation against Israel. But having said that, I’m a firm believer that someday there will be a revival of the Ottoman Empire, and that’s when our problems will start. The beast that receives a fatal wound to its head in Revelations, and is miraculously healed, is the islamic beast.

      If Israel attacked Iran with first strike nuclear weapons then Pakistan would nuke Israel in retaliation.

      The get-out clause is built into the original statement.

      And it’s an easy get-out because:
      * Israel is not going make a first strike nuclear strike on anyone.
      *No State can win a nuclear war.

      So it’s just embarrassing bravado.

      There may not be many Pure Persians left in Iran but they boast just like ancients.

      • Maybe you are right Sporticus, but that is not what an Iranian commander recently said. He said, that Pakistan promised to nuke Israel if they attacked Iran. So who knows what went on between them.

  18. Not too familiar with ranks in different navies, but I had no idea that navies had generals. Doesn’t the Iranian navy have admirals?

    Gen Abbasi should look at a map: Iran and Israel are not gonna have a naval war. Israel has a Mediterranean coast: Iran has a Persian Gulf coast. For their navies to even meet, let alone clash, they’d have to cross choke points, like the Straits of Hormuz, the Bab el Mandab and the Suez Canal. Why would either side even bother?

    I’m assuming that he’s somewhere near Bandar Abbas or some other coastal city, and not in Teheran, which would explain why he hasn’t been taken out so far?

    Israel humstrung Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthi’s. On Iran, Iran is now radar blind after 4 days of war. Their barrage of rockets towards Israel gets weaker by the day. 9 Iran nuclear scientists dead, 2 commander s od thw Revoultionary Guard dead. They can take out Ali Khamanei and kill him if they want to.
