Tom Armstrong, a self-described “working-class lad” from the north of England, delivers some thoughts on the present state of his country here: “The British Establishment Has Ferociously Attacked Britain,” by Tom Armstrong, American Thinker, June 5, 2025:
Until very recently, Britain was inhabited almost exclusively by white Europeans. First, the Celts, then the Germanic tribes who became the English, and then the closely related Vikings. Our DNA was more or less settled by 900 AD. A smattering of others came over the next thousand years; Norman descendants of Vikings in 1066, and then a tiny number of Jews, Huguenots, African or Asian individuals associated with Britain’s empire, and even escaped slaves from the USA. But these were few and rapidly assimilated, becoming British and part of our island story.
Our ancestors fought off invaders, invaded other countries, survived plagues, built cathedrals, wrote the Magna Carta, and started the Industrial Revolution. We shared a common language, values, a strong sense of identity, and an even stronger sense of humour and national pride.
Britain, a trading nation that absent-mindedly built an empire, was never a nation of immigrants, unlike the USA. In 1951, over 99% of the fifty million British were white. Now, of seventy million, almost 20% are non-white.
What began as a trickle of immigrants in the 1950s became a torrent in the 1990s. Successive governments encouraged mass immigration by saying that there was a labour shortage, and that immigrants would “enrich” our society, take jobs that native Britons didn’t want, and would integrate into the British way of life.
It was all lies.
There was no labour shortage, just a shortage of cheap labour. Mass immigration has driven wages down but caused crime to soar. Integration is discouraged by the insane multiculturalist ideology. Rather than expecting immigrants to become British, we must adapt to them, celebrate diversity, accept different customs, even legal systems, all in the name of multiculturalism.
Anyone who objects is smeared as a racist. We are told that our history is shameful, for we are the devil’s spawn who invented slavery and plundered other people’s lands. Our children are taught that being white is something to be ashamed of. Britain’s leading role in ending the slave trade, and the fact that Africans were sold into slavery by African chiefs, are, of course, never mentioned.
And to this point one might note that the Arab slave trade began earlier, ended later, and claimed many millions more of victims, than did the Atlantic slave trade conducted by Europeans. In fact, Arabs are still enslaving black Africans in Niger, Mali, and Mauritania.
The people were never asked. There was no democratic mandate, no vote, no debate. It was all imposed on a reluctant people by a malevolent, alien establishment intent on the destruction of national feeling and the nation state. Government policy has been designed accordingly.
Immigration is in the hundreds of thousands. Woke multiculturalism has reached new heights of insanity, where men can become women on a whim. Net zero and punitive levels of taxation are destroying the economy. The result is catastrophic and likely to get worse. Many believe serious violence, even civil war, is inevitable.
Many no longer recognise the country they grew up in, and in some places, no longer even feel welcome in it. Most large cities have areas where the native British are a minority, and you will not hear English spoken. Churches are converted to mosques, and British customs are trashed by government, local and national, lest they offend immigrants—and to assist eroding national identity.
In what has come to symbolise multicultural Britain, the scandal of the rape gangs is especially shameful. Vulnerable young white girls, some as young as twelve, many in the ‘care’ of local authorities, were repeatedly raped and worse by gangs of mainly Pakistani Muslim men. This went on for years. People who complained to the authorities were silenced. Fathers who tried to rescue their daughters were arrested. And the whole government, police, and the media establishment, which had long known what was going on, did all they could to cover it up.
One member of parliament, a female Pakistani Muslim, retweeted and liked a message that said, “Those abused girls in Rotherham and elsewhere just need to shut their mouths for the good of diversity.” (She deleted the retweet, with a spokesman saying it was “a genuine accident.”)
It took brave citizens like Tommy Robinson, Britain’s foremost political prisoner, to bring what has been happening to light. For doing so, he is being relentlessly persecuted….
Robert likes to call the UK “shattered, staggering, dhimmi Britain.” I’ve always thought that an exaggeration, but the evidence keeps piling up that he is right.

Excellent article. All too true, all too sad, all too happening across Europe and to some extent North America. Can the tide be turned or are we going to let the pols and judges destroy our heritage
John Pepple says
It’s not just pols and judges. As Daniel Pipes said, it’s the 6 Ps: politicians, the police, prosecutors, the press, professors, and priests. And this ignores all these shadowy NGOs who all seem to be working against us.

I don’t blame the police, I’m sure most of them would like to legally crack some heads

The Muslim invasion of Britain, aided by clueless and/or malevolent British elites (btw, I reject the contention that “and/or” is not proper English and, a la Churchill, this is nonsense up with which I will not put) makes the Anglo-Saxon invasion of Britain in the 5th century AD look like a “nothing-burger” in the final scheme of things respecting how polities become great or not great.
The Anglo-Saxon “arrival” at the end of the ancient world and the beginning of the Middle Ages was, in the final analysis, part of a route to greatness. The Muslim “arrival” in Britain has been anything but and betokens most clearly a precipitous descent that is both inexcusable and tragic and has no greatness whatsoever written about it.

It is unfathomable, in a sane world, to witness what is happening to Europe. I get that people are afraid to go to jail, but can they arrest us all if we band together and save what is rightfully ours?
Wellington says
With you, 40 rounds. Yeah, they can’t arrest us all (or can they?) so there’s powers in numbers.
My God, how the present Western elite have let us down. As an example, I remember when Cameron was Prime Minister (2010-2016) and said something to the effect about his looking forward to when London would become the center of Islamic banking in Europe.
What a fool. Colossally so.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
They may not be able to arrest us all, but they do have nukes, as Eric Swalwell pointed out. And w/ this bunch, I trust them to use it. They may have been antiwar during the Cold War, when it came to the Soviets, but if they are the ones who get to pick which places to nuke, they’ll happily do it

I don’t believe that Mr. Spencer *likes* writing those things about Britain. I just believe he knows it’s necessary to write the Truth about the situation. I would be willing to write that he would rather it was different and he could write that Britain is holding its own in a world going mad.
I can empathize with the article as we are constantly told that Americans won’t do jobs, so illegals must be brought in to do those jobs. (These are not the jobs of engineers, doctors, etc. which people are encouraged to come and take)
Jobs for illegals are those which are in the dirt and grit and don’t pay well; a lot of times, not even min wages. So the poorest among us suffer the most as they see their jobs taken by people who don’t speak English and sneer at the citizens who do, whose jobs they have taken.
(I had that happen when I worked in the fields years ago. And they, even then, got freebees….housing, medical and dental care and free food which Americans never received.).
It’s a runaway locomotive without brakes on a downhill run. The passengers are screaming, but the guys in the control booths along the way, have their orders….no switching, no efforts to stop it.

somehistory,
I have had some of those minimum wage jobs.
I have raked leaves, shoveled driveways, waited tables, washed dishes, worked as a bellboy, and worked in a woolen mill.
The woolen mill job was actually kind of interesting. My task was to reverse engineer carpet samples from other companies. I had to sort out colors and types of fabrics – all with percentages. My supervisor would have to then “sign off” on my work. If “our” company could make the exact same carpet at a better price, we would get the contract.
During my last few days there, my supervisor showed me thousands and thousands of dollars’ worth of carpet that “our” company made based upon my reverse engineered sample.
But no bonus, just minimum wage.
somehistory says
James, I believe all of that made you a better person than you might have been otherwise. And the fabric job does sound very interesting.
I believe we may have a lot in common.
I have cleaned rooms, worked in a dry cleaners, cleaned up movie theaters, worked every job in produce fields….plowing, planting, hoeing, picking sorting, packing Had an ironing business in my home, babysat, worked as a temp doing all kinds of work.
I also picked raspberries and cherries.
. On one job, my work made more money for the farmer than that of others, but he didn’t share with me.
I worked at a Six Flags for awhile. I also worked in fast food a few times.
I was a night checker in a grocery store for less than five an hour. The union got a raise for its members, and the store manager gave me a fifty cent raise. Then the union renegotiated and members gave up their raises…and mine was taken. It was in a store which was a training store for new managers; and it was in the red for years until I began working as the lone night clerk. It was then in the black until I left to work selling/designing ads for a small paper. And for a little while, I did telemarketing for a carpet cleaning company.
Next job was in health insurance.
Once, I was looking for farm work in the strawberry fields. One farmer told me he would hire me, but his ‘Mexican” foreman refused because he had his crew and I didn’t measure up.
Needing to work to support my kids, I made a business of cleaning up around new homes…moving construction materials and it was hard.
I also drove a school bus for a couple of years. One of the worst regarding stress and even danger.
The last place I worked before I became unable to work was with a huge company, billions of dollars in business. I was finally paid better than the minimum.
When people say Americans won’t do the work, they mean **they*** personally wouldn’t do those jobs.

Hi, around 1980 I worked in a Muslim carpet shop in Bond St, London.
The nice owner would come in with threadbare woven carpets under his arm. He handed me a bunch of felt-tip pens in different colours and say, “Where the pattern is worn down, fill in the design with the pens.”
This I did and when a customer entered the shop he unrolled these raggy old carpets with a flourish and say, “Look ! It’s like a beautiful painting !” I knew it WAS a beautiful painting !
The shop was so tiny there was no WC. so I had to go round the corner to The Museum of Mankind.
Those were the days.

Funny you mentioned that, I worked in a meat packing plant for one week, that’s all I could stand, side by side with Hispanic people. No offense intended but you have to be brain dead to do that day in and day out for years. I’m a firm believer in automation as that would solve a lot of our immigration problems

Your comment caused another job memory to come up….working at a shrimp processing/packing plant. I was a teenager at the time and my mom and one brother worked there. I soon found out why my mother had such an odor when she came home at night, but none after I began working there. No foreigners there then,, but my guess is now the scene is way different.
We were poor, but every now and then, we had shrimp for supper.

Even if it was true that Americans won’t do certain jobs for minimum wages or less, the idea that muslims are gonna be willing to do it is laughable. Maybe some, from some country like Bangladesh or Nigeria, but there’s much more other baggage that they bring along w/ them
Like James, I too have held minimum wage jobs, and wasn’t too thrilled by it. But the way out of that is to totally re-orient education towards vocational training, the trades & certifications, As for real guest workers, there is a visa called the H2B visa, which exists for precisely that purpose: there is no reason to tolerate illegals in their place

I love this article and agree with the majority of it, but being a foundation American, whose family came here to America 300 years, we were not a diverse nation of immigrants. The people who came here were largely European until the Hart-Cellar act of 1964 then we began allowing exponentially more Third World country immigrants here. George Bush Jr. even had a hand in it by increasing immigration by 40% from these same countries during his term. We went from in the 60s being an 84+ percent white country to now being a 60% white country. The “nation of immigrants” is a bold face, dishonest misdirect. We were a nation of largely Western European immigrants expanding to Eastern European as well. Third Worlders were only let in in tiny amounts for those seeking asylum. Obtaining asylum was difficult to do. What we see now in America has occurred over literally the last 60 years. I go to the convenient store now and can be a literally a small handful of white people surrounded by black and brown people. This has only happened in my later lifetime. I truly feel like my country has been taken over by the third world and their handlers the globalists.

I see the same thing. It has been that way for a long time, and the illegals now from nearly every nation on earth, has made the human landscape as more color than White.
when I was a child, the ads on tv, billboards, newspapers, were all in English and any mail coming to my parents from the government had only the English writing.
Now, ads are in other languages I don’t understand and when I get mail from the government or even various companies, there is a long list of foreign languages saying what is said to me.
It doesn’t feel like the country of my parents.

Every body is supposed t shut his/her mounth when talking about the crimes committed by muslims which are plenty everywhere. Wait until Islam has conquered the world completely and then the muslims can announce their rape, beating, robbery and killing proudly as Islamic deeds.
Now, let pretend Islam is a religion of peace and muslims are nice people according to western standard..

“Kemi Badenoch has revealed she refuses to meet or speak to constituents who cover their faces as she backed allowing bosses to ban female staff from wearing burkas.
The Conservative leader said she had a rule at surgeries in her North West Essex constituency that ‘you have to remove your face covering, whether it’s a burka or a balaclava’
t came as she backed allowing office managers to bar staff from wearing the traditional Islamic robe for women, which has only a transparent veil allowing them to see.
However she stepped back from the idea of a nationwide ban on the garment, saying there were bigger issues when it came to integration.
Her remarks came after Reform’s chairman Zia Yusuf quit following a row over the subject after his colleague MP Sarah Pochin urged the Prime Minister to ban the burka ‘in the interests of public safety’- before rejoining on Saturday night.”.”

Actually, the “Great” in Great Britain refers to the big island that consists of England, Scotland and Wales. “Lesser Britain” is the Brittany peninsula in northwest France
Otherwise, England was a great kingdom, and so was Scotland, before King James VI/I. It was only after their union that they became an international bully, both in mainland Europe and around the world. While de-globalizing, they should break down back to those 3 countries – England, Scotland and Wales (let Northern Ireland go back to Dublin: that Protestant vs Catholic division means nothing any more given how islam has taken over both), and let all 3 of them have their own rulers, or become republics, or whatever. Conservatives shouldn’t claim to clamor for independence from the EU in one breath, while denying it to the Scots or Welsh
Let all 3 fight their own individual battles against islamization

Forgot the Romans.
Manchester is a Roman name (and so Man United) as is London (Londinium).
The Romans are hidden in place names all over Britain. The long straight “Watling Street” , a distant ancestor of the autostrada. Then obviously the Roman alphabet which came mainly by monks I believe. I doubt that the Angles, Jutes, and Saxons as we used to call them could have moved into Magna Britannia so easily if the Romans hadn’t had to leave with the decline of the empire. Don’t know how much DNA they left behind.
Walter Sieruk says
Great Britain is no longer “Great.” The reason why this is so is because the non—Muslim government authorities who are still in power in the UK have taken the practice of “Walking on eggshells” to not offend the Muslims who are living in England, For the politicians British who are not Muslims are weak for they are afraid of Muslim outrage and riots as well as other forms of Muslims mayhem in Britain. That is terrible, because such violent lawless chaos should not be tolerated in any Western nation.
This Muslim infiltration and influence in the governmental working of the United Kingdom . is called the “Stealth jihad.” This technique is practiced by Muslims who are also stealth jihadists to infiltrate the UK as well as other Western countries using lies and deception, Taqiyya, for the advancement of Islam with its Sharia.
This Muslim scheme for achieving the goal of the Islamic agenda is as, many times, as subtly effective as it is demonically clever. Furthermore, this Islamic gradualism, in some ways, is very similar to the instruction printed in the book entitled THE ART OF WAR by Sun Tzu. Which reads, “At first, then, exhibit the coyness of a maiden, until the enemy gives you an opening; afterwards emulate the rapidity of a running hare, and it will be too late for the enemy to oppose you.”
Walter Sieruk says
First, that Muslim man, who is holding up the sign that reads “Shariah the Future for UK.” Little does he know that Shariah in reality is nothing but a heathen hoax .
As for the Muslims who have the Islamic goal to make Sharia the Law of the land in United Kingdom,, it therefore should be made known that the actual origin of Sharia had been revealed in a Time –Life book with the title MESOPOTAMIA: THE MIGHTY KINGS copyright 1995 ” For that future history book about the ancient pagan world of Mesopotamia informs the reader that “many Islamic laws resemble the Babylon and Assyrian forebears.” .page 150.
Therefore Sharia is of pagan origin and therefore has no value or worth.
Second, with the construction of so many mosques in the United Kingdom not only means that more and more Muslims are entering the UK those continents of Europe and likewise more and more people in the UK are now being proselytized to Islam.
This may be disturbing enough, nevertheless this mass construction of mosques in England and other Western nations have still has a further meaning which has been explained by a former Muslim who is now a Christian, Dr. Daniel Shayesteh, in his book ISLAM THE HOUSE I LEFT BEHIND for in page 99 it informs the reader that “The mosque is vital for establishing Muslims as sovereign over non-Muslims in a non-Islamic society or country. Building a mosque in a non-Islamic society or country symbolizes Islam’s claim over that society or country, even with a non-Muslim majority.”
