New in PJ Media:
Old Joe Biden and his henchmen are out of the Oval Office. DEI has become a term of derision, as in “Kamala Harris, the DEI presidential candidate.” Bud Light made fake woman Dylan Mulvaney the face of its brand, and took a nosedive from which it took many months to recover. There are numerous other indications that the tide has turned, and that the left’s stranglehold upon American popular culture has been broken once and for all. You would never know it, however, from looking at Major League Baseball.
In 2025, as in previous years, only one Major League team is daring not to hold a Pride Night: the Texas Rangers. Also as in past years, the media portrays the Rangers as some odd and suspicious outlier, rather than as a courageous outfit that is bucking the cultural trends in favor of the idea that delusion, perversion, and sexual excess aren’t really worth celebrating.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s coverage was typical. It began by noting that efforts to compel the miscreants to explain their aberrant behavior were unsuccessful, but that the Rangers were not to be cast summarily into the outer darkness, as they had redeemed themselves at least partially for the grave omission of a Pride Night by indulging the cultural left in other ways: “While the Rangers have never explained why they don’t have a designated Pride Night, they have spoken in the past to their efforts to advocate for and support marginalized groups.”
Among these “marginalized groups” are apparently Hispanics, and it’s too bad that the Star-Telegram didn’t pause to explain how the celebration of an ethnic group is somehow equivalent to the celebration of sexual practices. It explained: “The Rangers host theme nights throughout the year, including Mexican Heritage Night, HBCU Diamond Day and Hispanic Heritage Night.” See, the Rangers aren’t so bad after all!
The Star-Telegram did generously deign to report that the Rangers had assured the world of their ideological conformity despite the absence of the requisite celebration: “Back in 2023, representatives for the Texas Rangers have released statements to questions about their refusal to celebrate Pride Night. They listed various organizations they supported and steps they have taken over the years to create what they say is a ‘welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment for fans and employees.’” Well, okay, then. The Rangers passed the ideological exam by the skin of their teeth, comrade!

Pride is one of the seven deadly sins. Why is it singled out for special treatment? How about a Sloth night?
somehistory says
What about gluttony.?…oh, yeah, mozzies have that for a whole month.

The Star Telegram has always been somewhat of a liberal newspaper. It’ll probably get worse now that Fort Worth has been heavily invaded by Californians and Mexicans. Fort Worth was always the somewhat conservative hold out. Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso (Beto), etc., are the liberal outposts. Austin is the worst.

How exactly is a Gay Pride Night a celebration of “delusion, perversion and sexual excess”?
Oh. I get it. A gay person is, by definition, delusional, perverse and involved in sexual excess. And, of course, straight people aren’t.
You have to admit though that many of the costumes are quite humorous.

Personally, I don’t “have to admit” any such thing. And they aren’t ‘quite humorous” to me. They are disgusting and I have as little looks at them as possible.
Engaging in sexual acts in public, prancing it down the streets in full view of little children is “excess.” It’s also perverted and disgusting.
most people, recognize that “delusion and perversion” are a major part of the *pride* marchers’ way of *expressing* themselves.

I think they are just celebrating not having to hide in the closet any longer. Can’t blame them for that. Do these parades get a little creepy sometimes? Yes. If you’re worried that it might warp them in some way don’t bring little kids to the parade.
somehistory says
when the parading of their perversions is on main street and the kids have to go to the dentist or with mom to try on new clothes, that’s not “bringing the little kids to the parade.’ That’s bringing the perverted parade to the kids.
Just as they do in the libraries and elementary, kindergarten schools to ‘read’ and show their …what should be ….privates.
Any honest person will admit that it’s perversion.

Methinks they celebrate way too much, Rarely. It’s become overkill and sometimes nauseating in-your-face garbage. And think about this: American veterans get two days a year—Memorial Day and Veterans Day. By contrast, gays get a whole month. Talk about disproportionate.
somehistory says
And moms and dads get one day each. Kids get no days, of which I am aware.

Yeah! We don’t need to know about your sex lives, and neither are we interested. Also, the things you people claim were a slippery slope – that if we stop tormenting gays, they’ll one day demand the right to adopt kids – turned out to be a trend line
Once upon a time, I actually supported de-criminalizing gay sodomy, as well as allowing civil unions, so that certain benefits that married couples had – hospital visitations, inheritance laws, etc, would be available to them. But it wasn’t enough – it never is. The next thing they wanted was Gay Marriage, and thanks to that cancer on SCOTUS – Justice Anthony Kennedy, you people got that as well
Once that started, everything else followed – the T, then the Q, now we have the 2S (2-spirit), and banging on the door is “MAP” – Minor Attracted people i.e. pedos. That’s what this coalition has brought to the party, which is why it deserves to be eradicated like the societal cancer that it is. We need to roll back gay rights to where they could get civil unions, but nothing more – and etch that in stone. Then crack down on the trannies, queers and everyone else

Baseball is a commercial enterprise, fans who disagree with homosexual promotion, boycott en masse, revenue will drop, CEOs etc will act quickly and stop this propaganda. So Baseball fans it’s now up to you.

Politics does NOT belong in sports period. I have totally stoped watching all professional sports and most college sports. I support and watch local school teams where they play for the joy of the games, not the bucks or political/group statements. The local children are the heart beat of sports.
