The “separatist violence” in Thailand is an Islamic jihad with the goal of separating the Muslim areas in the southern part of the country from Buddhist Thailand and uniting them to Muslim Malaysia.

Three people, including a child, were killed and two others injured in a rare residential shooting in Thailand’s southern Narathiwat province, according to Thai police reports on Saturday.
The attack occurred in Tak Bai district when an unidentified gunman opened fire in a residential area. Authorities believe the suspect is linked to an insurgent group operating in the region….
The southern provinces of Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala have long struggled with separatist violence….
The motive behind the attack has not yet been confirmed. Thai officials have urged the public to remain vigilant as investigations continue.

I wonder whether Thailand ever brings up this issue w/ Malaysia? Mainly ask them to tell their Malay brethren in that area to either fully accept Thai citizenship & be loyal to Bangkok, or move to Malaya and be loyal to Kuala Lumpur. Yes in England ,France ,Germany they are a problem to Christian and atheist the majority in those countries. In Indian they are a problem with Hindus the majority in that country .Look at the Philippines the Moslems have been at war with the majority of that country Roman Catholics trying to form a separate country for over 400 years back to when it was rule by Spain ,to under America control till its indepence after WW11 .. . Never mind what the Moslems do to the minority of Christians ,Buddhist ,and Hindus(Jews are exterminate or leave) in the Moslem majority countries. The Moslem hate for Jews is off the charts no matter where they are look at all the protest world wide for support for Hamas terrorist and their actions on Oct 7 2023. Look for conflicts in the Middle East with different Moslem sects .Never at peace among anyone like a wild ass in the desert everyone is an enemy to them .Every corner of the world under every form of government ,democratic countries, communist run countries ,dictators ,socialist governments ,the Moslems fight against the non-Moslems in those countries if the number of Moslems in those countries is just above .5 percent out of 100 percent less the 1 percent of the total population .In Japan you have almost none you have no problem .

And if the Thais gave in, gave the mohammedans a big chunk of southern Thailand, and removed all non-Muslim residents… then how long would it be before cross-border jihad raids began, into non-Islamic Thailand??
What should happen is … the reverse… Thailand take full control of southern Thailand (which they won in self-defensive warfare against Jihad, back in the day!!), evict all the mohammedans into Muslim Malaysia, and fortify the border forthwith; all jihadi border crossing raids to be met with extreme prejudice.
Jihad will only stop / retreat if every time it is engaged in, the ummah LOSES territory.
And by the way: no infidel nation should EVER side with a muslim nation against a non-Muslim nation. No matter what.
