Somali Muslim Migrant Who Lied About Feeding 1,000,000 Meals to Kids Caught Fleeing U.S.

She collected $2.4 million in taxpayer money, but spent less than $2,000 on food.

You may remember the $250 million Feeding Our Future scandal out of Minnesota, and if you don’t, here’s a brief primer.

The pandemic unleashed a fraud tsunami. Especially in Minnesota where the rules were relaxed and a coalition of fraudsters, many of them Somali, began claiming that they were feeding millions of kids through a nonprofit known as Feeding Our Future.

In 2019, Feeding Our Future distributed $3.4 million in taxpayer food aid funds to the non-profits it was sponsoring, In 2020, that shot up to $42 million and then up to $197 million in 2021. These were impressive numbers for a charity that seemed to focus on Somalis in Minnesota.

The number eventually shot up to $250 million.

The initial case made headlines when a juror received a $120,000 bribe.

Now a 71th suspect in the $250 million fraud case was caught fleeing the country.

The FBI arrested Hibo Daar at MSP before she could board that flight to Dubai. Court records show Daar claimed to serve 1 million meals to children while operating out of an office in a business center on East Hennepin Avenue. She collected $2.4 million in taxpayer money, but federal investigators believe her meal site, “Northside Wellness,” was fake and that she actually spent less than $2,000 on food.

In those meal counts, the complaint says that by April 2021, Daar claimed to be serving about 40,000 meals to children every week.

Daar’s lawyer said in court that the defendant was traveling to visit her sick mother. But then she got caught in a lie, claiming she hadn’t traveled overseas since 2022. The prosecutors pulled out Daar’s passport and showed she had been traveling regularly since then.

Frankly, we should have let her go on the condition that she and her whole family and all their relatives give up their U.S. citizenship.

And Ilhan Omar (not her real name, only used to surreptitiously marry her own brother to gain citizenship) should be arrested for her relationship – as a foreign agent of Yemen (purportedly giving them information gained by her position in Congress) and after HER serving a long sentence, deported back to Somalia. She has stated in public that her loyalty is to Somalians, not to America.

    Make her pay back every cent….and that should go for all of the other scum who collecting extortion, lining their dirty pockets and laughing up their sleeves at the gullible.

    i elmi should be put on the grill for these crimes committed by the people for whom she is a *rep* in Congress. Then find a way to send her and the whole lot of them packing back to somalia.

  4. Hope they feed her 🥓 bacon for breakfast, Spam for lunch, and pork chops for dinner. But being in Minnesota, they’ll probably pay for catered halal food for her, and allow her Akbar headgear.

    • Those foods are too good for her. If you want her to eat pork products, give her sausage using the real deal…intestines….the snout, tail and feet. One needs a special *taste* for those.

  6. Give her trial of her peers. If she’s found guilty and after her prison sentence deport her and all of her relatives.

    I assume she lived in Minneapolis, which has a population of 425,115 as of 2023. So that would have meant that she was feeding almost 1 in 10 who live in the city, and about 1 in 5 children who live in the Twin Cities area.

    This is a *huge* number, and would have involved enormous logistics, and should have set off alarm bells almost at once.

        Remember the jury member whose father was met at his home and given money for the jury member. The guilty may have been bribing others to keep their eyes shut to the crimes.

    • Given what DOGE has discovered about the number of entities receiving huge amounts of money w/o anyone even being there to defend it, this scam is not remotely surprising. Essentially, nobody was looking at the recipients, but just auto-wiring money to anyone who asked for any reason

    • How do they just walk in from some patch in Somalia, bring the whole village, and then get citizenship?

    • Not all of it. They needed some to bribe witnesses, jury members, politicians and any others who they may believe will get them off.
      And the one in the article needed some to try fleeing back to Africa. Others may be doing the same.
      And then, the women have to keep some scarf money and the males need some to buy little girls.

Yeah, sure, let’s her up and keep her here so we can pay her attorney’s fees, living expenses, medical care, special food, incarceration, etc., etc., etc. Gotta keep the cash flow rolling in to those attorneys, judges, guards, police, prisons, etc. Different idea: Seize all of her and her family’s assets and deport all of them forever.

    • YES, but who in our government is charged with regulating the funding and following up that our TAX DOLLARS are being spent correctly? This kind of outrages fraud should NEVER be allowed to happen.
