Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) promised to uncover government waste and fraud, and wow, its latest discovery out of the Treasury Department could be the most egregious example of it yet. DOGE has found a black hole within the federal bureaucracy: massive amounts of money are pouring out, but no one seems to know to whom this money is going, or what, if anything, is being received in return.
Yes, the Treasury Department, which far-left judges fought so hard to keep DOGE from investigating. Could it be that some individual or group in the Treasury Department has something to hide?
There is more. Read the rest here.

“ Could it be that some individual or group in the Treasury Department has something to hide?”
Although the question seems to be rhetorical, I’ll answer it:
Yes it can be! Back in the 1980’s to early 2000’s (the years I am familiar with) the accounting systems within the Treasury and the Federal Reserve were meticulous, with every penny accounted for, every interest payment substantiated, and systems in place to ensure checks were made out in the correct amount with no slipped decimal points or paid amounts not matching the invoices. There were even systems in place to account for fractions of a cent so an unscrupulous employee couldn’t divert these fractions to his own account and make it appear that the books balanced while he was stealing millions of a fraction of a cent. There was even a system in place to track changes, so for example, if the purpose of a check were later changed, it did not overwrite the original purpose, but rather put a single line through it and the new purpose underneath, so it could easily be audited if need be. The same for deposits.
I don’t know what happened between then and DOGE’s recent revelation, but whatever it was, it was a deliberate action to make the payments untraceable and the payments’ purpose impossible to audit, without tracking down each payee.

Great. It just might be that a miracle will happen – a downward trend in the US budget deficit.
As the common-sense administration of Trump uncovers and ends all the rot, they just might be able to work a miracle.
As they say in the Gym – “No pain, no gain.”

Maybe Trump could bring some common sense to the Vatican 🙂

I was watching Jesse Watters’ interview of Elon and part of the DOGE team. What they pointed out was believable, yet maddening. Elon gave the example of NGOs that would come up w/ a cause that would tug at one’s heartstrings, such as saving the pandas, but at the end of it all, all the money went just to different layers of middlemen contractors, and in some cases, nothing went to the original purpose for which it was earmarked
There were other doozies as well. Some people got money for booking hotels in Vegas, and having some big parties and conferences. The DOGE team fixed this by simply asking that receipts be submitted. Elon mentioned that they didn’t say that they would check it: an applicant could have submitted a picture of a pet, and that may have worked. But once they asked for receipts, the number of requests for government money suddenly dissipated
Another doozy which topped even the one about 240 year old and 150+ year olds getting social security checks was money going to people whose dates of birth are in 2150: they’re not even fetuses, and a lot of their ancestors have yet to be conceived. And there were tax refunds going to 11 year olds
One of the conclusions that Elon had was that the original requests are not so brazen: they start out small. But when they see no audit being done of their activities, they conclude that nobody is looking and simply ask for more. Over time, it mushrooms, until you have people asking for money for renting Caesars Palace for their conferences or parties
I know that President Trump has named July 4th, 2026 as the deadline for DOGE to finish its work. Much as I admire the idea of a new government department not being needed or permanent, this one ain’t it! Instead, it should be made a permanent department to which all other departments have a dotted-line reporting. Reason being that there will continue to be eternal monitoring of government spending to ensure that people – whether in government or out of it – don’t swindle the taxpayer, and that need won’t expire on America’s 250th birthday
