What else would anyone expect? The Qur’an itself says that the Jews are the worst enemies of the Muslims (5:82).
“Jordanian textbooks justify Hamas Oct. 7 massacre,” by Etgar Lefkovits, JNS, May 20, 2025:
(JNS) Jordanian textbooks justify the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led massacre and promote antisemitism and violent jihad, marking a troubling decline in the Hashemite Kingdom’s educational standards, an international think tank reported Monday.
A study by the London-based watchdog IMPACT-se found that nearly 300 textbooks used in the 2023–2025 curriculum “promote antisemitism, glorify violent jihad, and express strong hostility toward homosexuality.”
At the same time, and somewhat contradictorily, the materials also “generally advocate concepts of religious moderation, tolerance, and peacemaking,” the report noted.
Alarmingly, a 2024 Jordanian Grade 10 National and Civic Education textbook includes a passage that appears to justify the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks. The text frames the destruction of “Israeli colonies” inhabited by “settlers” as a response to Israeli oppression — implicitly suggesting that the civilians who were attacked, murdered and kidnapped were legitimate targets, according to the study.
The report also highlights that textbooks referencing Jews in Islamic history perpetuate harmful stereotypes, portraying deceit, treachery and hostility toward Islam as inherent characteristics of Jewish people.
While the Jordanian curriculum discusses jihad as a multifaceted concept, it frequently leans toward militant interpretations. A Grade 10 Islamic Education textbook cited in the study teaches that jihad includes fighting enemies and defending the nation, with martyrdom presented as a religious ideal….

On October 7, Muslims are following Quran 8:67 and Quran 47:4 where Muslims make a great slaughter and take prisoners for ransom for future negotiations. This is pure Islam: violence, ransom, discrimination, and terrorism.
Allah’s Islam, a Terrorist-Criminal Enterprise, and its predatory believers continually fund, promote, and practice ideological subversion, propaganda, bigotry, discrimination, deceit, supremacy, segregation, hatred, violence, genocide, and terrorism as taught in Islamic Law and in Islam’s Quran. Muslim actions should be legally challenged with a multi-faceted force of Western Laws like Muslims wield against Americans and Westerners because Islam violates USA Laws(Quran 9:5,29, 111; 49:15; 60:4 and more).
Like a Foreign Terrorist Organization(FTO) designated by the USA Secretary of State, Islam functions as a MUSLIM TERRORIST ORGANIZATION(MTO) fighting against Non-Muslims and NOT A PEACEFUL religion under Western Law because Islam funds, teaches, and promotes Terrorist Criminal Organizations with Muslims as Terrorists for Allah(Quran 9:5,29, 111; 49:15 and more).
Under Islam and Islamic Law, Islam’s Mafia, Muslims have the Legal Right and the Quranic Duty to terrorize Non-Muslims because neglecting this QURANIC DUTY is a Crime against tyrannical Allah. Jihad means warfare against Non-Muslims to ESTABLISH ISLAM’S RELIGION(Quran 3:115, 151; 9:5, 29, 111; Muslim Law Manual: “Reliance of the Traveller”, o9.0 and more).
More specifically, Islam, a terroristic-totalitarian way of life, is a Muslim Terrorist Ideology and Murderous, Criminal Enterprise of intolerance, continuous war, discrimination, segregation, supremacy, genocide, polygamy, propaganda, deceit, hatred, incitement, sedition, rape, terrorism, and violence against all Non-Muslims as taught in the Quran(Quran 2:208,216; 4:65, 89,95, 115; 5:14,64; 8:12,39,60, 74; 9:5,21,29,36, 41,49, 73,88, 111,123; 21:92; 49:15; 60:4; 61:9-11; 89:14 and more).

Islamophobic assertions often claim that Islam, rooted in the Quran and Shari’ah, inherently promotes violence, terrorism, and discrimination, citing verses like 8:67, 47:4, 9:5, and 9:29 as evidence of a “Muslim Terrorist Organization” incompatible with democratic values. These claims advocate for Islam’s legal proscription in Western systems. This summary refutes such assertions through a hermeneutical lens, grounded in classical Islamic exegesis (tafsir), historical context (asbab al-nuzul), and legal theory (uṣul al-fiqh), demonstrating that these claims rely on decontextualized, selective, and biased interpretations that ignore Islamic scholarly traditions.
Responsible engagement with the Quran requires hermeneutics, the disciplined interpretation of texts. The Quran, revealed over 23 years, is multifaceted, addressing theology, ethics, law, and history within specific socio-historical contexts. Key hermeneutical principles include:
1. Asbab al-Nuzul: Verses must be understood in their historical context, often tied to specific events like existential threats to the early Muslim community.
2. Al-Nasikh wa al-Mansukh: Some verses were superseded by later revelations, but mainstream scholarship rejects the extremist view that “sword verses” abrogate peaceful ones, prioritizing reconciliation.
3. Al-ʿAmm wa al-Khaṣṣ: Distinguishing universal principles from context-specific rulings is critical; Islamophobic readings universalize specific verses.
4. Makki and Madani Verses: Makki verses emphasize theology and patience, while Madani verses address governance and conflict, often in self-defense.
5. Tafsir: Centuries of exegesis provide nuanced interpretations, ignored by simplistic, literalist readings.
Islamophobic methodologies violate these principles through proof-texting, eisegesis, and decontextualization, misrepresenting Islam as inherently violent.
Misinterpretations of Quranic Verses
1. 8:67: Revealed post-Battle of Badr (624 CE), this verse critiques taking captives for ransom before decisively subduing the enemy (yuthkhina fi l-arḍ), not mandating “massacre.” It addresses a specific tactical issue, not perpetual violence.
2. 47:4: This outlines wartime rules, instructing to “strike necks” (decisive combat) until the enemy is subdued, then secure captives for release or ransom. It applies to formal warfare, not terrorism, which targets non-combatants.
3. 9:5 (“Verse of the Sword”): This targets specific polytheist tribes who broke treaties, not all non-Muslims. 9:6 immediately offers asylum and safe passage, emphasizing mercy and contradicting indiscriminate violence.
4. 9:29: This addresses belligerent People of the Book, requiring jizyah (poll tax) for state protection, not forced conversion (forbidden by 2:256). It reflects pre-modern fiscal arrangements, not oppression.
These verses, tied to defensive warfare or treaty violations, are misread as universal mandates for violence, ignoring their ethical constraints and historical specificity.
Jihad, meaning “struggle,” includes the greater spiritual struggle (al-jihad al-akbar) and lesser armed struggle (al-jihad al-asghar), governed by strict ethics: only state authorities can declare war, non-combatants are protected, and treachery is forbidden (22:39-40, 4:75). This contrasts with terrorism’s indiscriminate violence. Shariah, diverse across schools (e.g., Hanafi, Shafi’i), is not monolithic. Texts like Reliance of the Traveller (o9.0) are selectively cited, ignoring their ethical frameworks and historical context.
Labelling Islam, a “terrorist enterprise” commits essentialism, reducing a 1.4-millennium-old religion with diverse theological, legal, and cultural expressions to a malevolent entity. Extremist groups like Al-Qaeda represent fringe views, condemned by most Muslims, as shown by Pew Research (2013). Islamophobic claims rely on de-contextualization, cherry-picking, anachronism, and ignoring exegesis.
Quranic verses emphasize peace (8:61, 2:208), justice (4:135, 5:8), kindness to non-belligerent non-Muslims (60:8), human equality (49:13), sanctity of life (5:32), and no compulsion in religion (2:256). Labelling Islam, a terrorist organization is legally untenable under Western laws protecting religious freedom and impractical, targeting a global faith rather than individual criminal acts.
Applying Islamophobic methods to other scriptures (e.g., Deuteronomy 20:16-17, 1 Samuel 15:3, Luke 19:27) could falsely depict Judaism or Christianity as violent. Responsible exegesis contextualizes such texts, a standard equally applicable to the Quran.
Islamophobic assertions misrepresent Islam by ignoring hermeneutical principles, decontextualizing verses (2:190, 16:126, 17:33, 8:61, 6:54, 4:135, 21:107, 5:32), and dismissing Islamic scholarship’s diversity. The Quran’s warfare verses (2:190, 16:126, 17:33, 8:61) address specific historical contexts, governed by ethics opposing terrorism. Islam’s core teachings promote peace (6:54), justice (4:135), and mercy (21:107, 1:1), rendering claims of inherent violence false and dangerous.

…………………………………….
Note that Mohamad Ashrof here hopes you have not noticed that, as Billy cites, pious Muslims do indeed kidnap, rape, torture, and murder Infidels, based on the diktats of the vicious core texts of Islam.
He quite markedly does not say that these devout coreligionists got anything wrong–including the entire nation of Jordan. Ar they all “extreemists” as well?.
Then, the Qur’an itself does not say that much of what it says is no longer applicable to Islamic actions–instead, it is understood by Muslims themselves as valid for all time.
And abrogration is not “extreme”–this is orthodox Islam, and the penultimate Sura of the Qur’an contains such horrors as Qur’an 9:5, “…kill the unbelievrs wherever you find them…”.
More:
5. Tafsir: Centuries of exegesis provide nuanced interpretations, ignored by simplistic, literalist readings.
…………………………………….
Note that respected scholars like those at Al-Azhar affirm that Islam teaches kidnapping, rape, and mass murder of Infidels.
And why not? These were all Islanic actions practiced by the model man of Islam, the Prophet Muhammed.
More:
3. 9:5 (“Verse of the Sword”): This targets specific polytheist tribes who broke treaties, not all non-Muslims. 9:6 immediately offers asylum and safe passage, emphasizing mercy and contradicting indiscriminate violence.
…………………………………….
Qur’an 9:6 only offers safe passage to Infidels converting to Islam.
Then, the idea that not wanting to pay crushing, humiliating Jizya makes you “beliigerent” is grotesque–but this claim does not surprise.
Then, the Prophet Muhammed himself confirms that dying while killing Infidels is the greatst thing a Muslim can do.
And the claim that quoting the brutal Reliance of the Traveller is “Islsamophobic” unless you also find passages to praise makes no sense. I suppose you could say the same of Mein Kampf…
And no–Jihadists are not “fringe”–this is not just orthodox Islam, but as the Prophet noted, the key part of the creed.
Then note the claim that the West itself criminalzes condemning evil is *quite* false. No one has to make up positives about Fascism and Stalinism–nor about Islam.
Muslims do inded have the right to practice their faith in the West–but *not* to wage violent Jihad or impose brutal Shari’ah law. These horrors contradict civilized law.
And if Islam supposedly condemns terrorism, why doesn’t Mohamad Ashrof take this up with his orthodox coreligionists? Because this is not his goal.
Then note the claim that it is “dangerous” for Infidels to notice what Islam actually teaches–never mind that this is only “dangerous” to Islam.
Finally, this is lkely the same Taqiyya-spewing apologist who wrote the grotsque “Islam and Gender Justice”–as though genital mutilation, child marriage, wife beating, rape, and stoning is “justce”. But thn, in Islam it is…

The pernicious habit of demonizing Islam through decontextualized scriptural cherry-picking, while conveniently sanitizing the often brutal interpretive history of Judeo-Christian texts, embodies a profound intellectual dishonesty and a dangerous hypocrisy. This selective outrage fuels bigotry by falsely portraying one faith as uniquely problematic, ignoring the universal human tendency to warp sacred narratives for power, prejudice, and violence. A rigorous, intellectually honest hermeneutic reveals that the Bible—both Torah and New Testament—has been, and continues to be, a source for justifications of extremism, violence, and oppression on scales that parallel or even exceed those attributed solely to Islam.
The Torah, for instance, is replete with divine commands for conquest and the genocidal annihilation of entire Canaanite populations (Deut 7:1-5, 20:16-18; Josh 6:21, 10:28-40; 1 Sam 15:3), framing ethnic cleansing as righteous obedience. It explicitly codifies slavery, distinguishing between temporary Hebrew servitude and the perpetual chattel enslavement of foreigners (Exod 21:2-11; Lev 25:44-46), even regulating the beating of slaves (Exod 21:20-21). Wartime spoils are detailed to include the massacre of non-virgin women and boys, with virgin girls taken captive (Num 31:7-18; Deut 20:10-14, 21:10-14). Its patriarchal framework systematically subjugates women, evidenced in laws concerning virginity tests carrying lethal consequences (Deut 22:13-21), ordeals for suspected adultery (Num 5:11-31), and the inclusion of wives amongst property (Exod 20:17), alongside the accepted practice of concubinage (Gen 16; Judg 19).
The New Testament, despite its overarching message of peace, contains “sword” passages (Matt 10:34; Luke 22:36) historically weaponized to justify religious conflict. More pervasively, Pauline epistles (1 Tim 2:11-14; 1 Cor 14:34-35), historically interpreted, mandated female silence and submission (Eph 5:22-24; Col 3:18; 1 Pet 3:1), forming a bedrock for restricting women’s roles for millennia. Furthermore, theological exclusivity centered on salvation solely through Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12) has historically fueled intolerance and the persecution of non-Christians and “heretics,” buttressed by visions of divine retribution (Rev 21:8).
These textual interpretations are not abstract; their historical manifestations are devastating. The Crusades, mobilized by “Deus Vult” and promises of divine favor (cf. Ps 144:1), unleashed centuries of brutality. The Inquisition employed torture and execution under biblical sanction (Exod 22:18; John 15:6) to enforce doctrinal purity. European colonialism and the subjugation of indigenous peoples worldwide were justified by the “Doctrine of Discovery” and a perversion of missionary mandates (Gen 1:28; Matt 28:19). The transatlantic slave trade thrived on twisted biblical justifications, particularly the curse of Ham (Gen 9:20-27) and Pauline calls for slave obedience (Eph 6:5). Centuries of Christian anti-Semitism, rooted in the deicide charge (Matt 27:25), culminated in pogroms and contributed to the Holocaust. Apartheid in South Africa found theological support in interpretations of racial separation (cf. Gen 9, 11). Contemporary Christian extremism, from white supremacist Christian Identity movements to anti-LGBTQ+ campaigns (citing Lev 18:22, 20:13) and abortion clinic violence, continues this legacy.
Crucially, misogyny is not an inherently Islamic problem but a sociopolitical one, with patriarchal systems across cultures selectively interpreting religious texts (Quran, Bible, or Torah) to legitimize pre-existing biases and maintain male dominance. Such interpretations are one stream, often contested by egalitarian readings (cf. Gal 3:28) within each faith.
The core issue, therefore, is not the unique malevolence of any single scripture, but the human capacity for misinterpretation in pursuit of power, control, or prejudice. True adherence to the spiritual ideals of compassion and justice necessitates a critical engagement with all religious texts, challenging harmful interpretations universally. To condemn Islam for misuses of its texts while granting a pass to Christianity or Judaism for analogous interpretive violence is the height of hypocrisy, breeding a dangerous bigotry that obstructs genuine understanding and interfaith respect. Intellectual honesty demands that the mirror of scrutiny be held up to all traditions, recognizing that the propensity for extremism is a shared human challenge, not the exclusive domain of one faith.

The Hebrew bible was codified 2,000 years ago – including oral history from 1,500 years before that- into a world that was just accepting ethical monotheism and a rule of law. Yes, there were many things done at the time which religious adherents do not accept today. Even in the ancient Torah it was difficult – almost impossible to care out capital punishment.
As a contrast, modern day adherents of Islam carry out honor killings and a wide range of deadly actions against any who dare to not accept their faith. Murder, rape , and torture are fair game to them .

mohamad ashrof says
Demonizing Islam as inherently extremist or monolithic is intellectually dishonest, ignoring its rich diversity while conveniently sidestepping similar complexities and historical instances of extremism in Christianity and Judaism. Such selective criticism reveals bias, distorts understanding, and fuels division. A fair examination demands consistency, recognizing that no Abrahamic faith is inherently violent or uniform. Extremism, across traditions, stems from distorted interpretations, not the faiths themselves.
Islamic theology revolves around Tawhid, the absolute oneness of God, not a “demon snake god” caricature. Prophet Muhammad is a revered human messenger, not a deified “human son.” Islam’s internal diversity defies simplistic labels. It encompasses Sunni branches (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, Hanbali), Shia sects (Twelver, Ismaili), and mystical Sufism. Cultural expressions vary widely, from Indonesia’s syncretic traditions to Senegal’s vibrant practices. Reformist movements further highlight dynamism, while extremist groups like ISIS or Al-Qaeda, rejected by mainstream scholars, represent a fringe minority.
Christianity, similarly diverse, spans Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant denominations (Lutheran, Calvinist, Baptist). Its history includes internal strife, like the Thirty Years’ War. Judaism, too, is varied—Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist—with cultural distinctions (Ashkenazi, Sephardi, Mizrahi). Each faith’s complexity resists reductionist narratives.
Extremism in Christianity has historical and modern precedents. The Crusades saw papally sanctioned massacres; the Inquisition used torture and execution for heresy. Wars of Religion fueled Catholic-Protestant bloodshed, and colonialism often wielded religious justification for subjugation. Today, groups like the Ku Klux Klan promote Protestant white supremacy, while the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda and Anders Breivik’s Norway attacks reflect distorted Christian rhetoric. Biblical texts, like Old Testament conquest narratives or Matthew 10:34 (“I bring not peace, but a sword”), can be misused when taken out of context.
Judaism also grapples with challenging texts, such as Tanakh commands to annihilate Canaanites (Deuteronomy 7, Joshua 6-11) or Amalekites (1 Samuel 15). Mainstream interpretations neutralize these, but extremist literalism persists. Historically, the Sicarii and Bar Kokhba Revolt embodied zealotry. Modern examples include Kach/Kahane Chai and individuals like Baruch Goldstein, responsible for the Hebron massacre, or Yigal Amir, who assassinated Rabin.
The key lies in hermeneutics—how texts are interpreted. Sacred texts (Quran, Bible, Tanakh) are complex, requiring contextual, holistic readings that emphasize mercy and justice. Extremists, across faiths, cherry-pick violent passages, ignoring broader ethical teachings for political ends. The interpretative lens, not the text itself, drives peaceful or violent outcomes.
Condemning Islam by ISIS’s actions while excusing Christian or Jewish extremism as contextual aberrations is a double standard. If ISIS defines Islam, then the KKK or Crusades must define Christianity, and Goldstein or Kach must define Judaism—an absurd proposition. This selective demonization, rooted in ignorance or Islamophobia, obscures genuine understanding. True insight requires consistent critique, embracing each faith’s diversity and judging them by their mainstream ethical teachings, not their fringes.

There is no “glory” whatsoever in that bloody malicious massacre which occurred on October 7, 2023 what Hamas had it’s Muslim terrorists do that awful day was An horrendous abomination which was a horrific sin unto God and a heinous crime upon humankind.
Shame on Ergar Lefkovits who wrote that Jordanian textbook and those who approved of it.
It needs to be made clear that Hamas is based entirely on Islam and Islam completely based on the foundation of the Qur’ an. The Qur’an instructs violence and killing for the cause of Islam ,as seen in for example, 2:191. 5:33. 9:5, 111.123. 47:4. Therefore Islam is a false, dangerous and deadly religion.
Furthermore, on October 7th 2023 what those kidnapping then raping vile and heinous jihadists of Hamas did to those girls and young women and still is completely unconscionably cruel and evil. Likewise on that same day malicious murderous Muslims terrorists of Hamas did was so very wicked that is was an abomination to everything that is good decent just and right.
In addtion it should always be kept in mind and never forgotten that the jihad entity is completely evil and its jihadist stooges likewise are totally wicked. For there is absolutely no limits to the vile, heinous horrifically evils that the jihadists of Hamas will commit because of because of their demonic and malice-filled religion that is Islam.
Moreover, it was very good news that those young Israeli women who had been ruthlessly kidnapped by the jihadists of Hamas have been freed. Nevertheless, Hamas should pay compensation for the severe suffering and wicked abuse they, had to endure while in captivity, that inflected on them by the cruel jihadists of Hamas. Likewise, those jihadists of Hamas who had deliberately and maliciously inflected torture on them. Those Muslim terrorists should be punished for their savage cruelty that they brutally and maliciously horrendously committed against those poor defenseless helpless women .For those Hamas jihad should not be allowed to go free with impunity.
