Any government that decides to follow through with this initiative should be applauded for its recognition of the truth, and for standing up to the sinister forces of jihad. By the decree of King David 3000 years ago, Jerusalem became the capital of Israel, and will remain its eternal capital.

“Gov’t approves financial assistance to move embassies to Jerusalem – Israel news,” Jerusalem Post, May 26, 2025:
The Israeli government approved a proposal to provide financial assistance to encourage and support foreign embassies that desire to move to Jerusalem, according to a statement made by the Foreign Ministry and Jerusalem Affairs and Jewish Tradition Ministry.
The proposal was submitted by Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Jerusalem Affairs and Jewish Tradition Minister Meir Porush.
As a part of the proposal, millions of shekels will be invested as an incentive for the foreign embassies, according to a statement made by Sa’ar and Porush.
The statement continued, “The encouragement and assistance will include, among other things, participation in funding expenses related to the establishment or relocation of embassies to Jerusalem, as well as providing housing and planning solutions as needed.”
Furthermore, the proposal includes “the encouragement of holding meetings and delegations in the city of Jerusalem, and the promotion of cooperation in other fields.”…

Does any other nation’s government do anything like this? Why does Israel have to help foot the bill?
Also on the subject of Israel, three articles just this morning…
One says “palestinian women” are changing Jerusalem. Another was about Israeli arabs in Judea & Samaria joining hamas and the third is concerning witcoff and hamas with a ‘deal’ Israel has to refuse.
The “envoy” says hamas changed the deal he set up. The one he negotiated doesn’t sound any better.

Not just that, once a country has moved its embassy to Jerusalem, it can have a consulate in Tel Aviv, but can’t move the embassy back there, like Australia did
In fact, why is this so complicated? Normal diplomatic convention usually has any country having its embassy in the capital of the host country, wherever that is. Like any country’s embassy to Burma used to be at Rangoon, but is now at Nawpyidaw. Israel being small enough, Tel Aviv is close enough to Jerusalem, but countries having their embassy at Tel Aviv would be like a country having its embassy to the US in San Francisco, instead of DC

Why would Israel do this anyway? Is there something we don’t see? Let’s hope this was well thought out.

It’s an incentive for foreign countries to move their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem

If they need incentive they should get out. A pipe dream I know.

I disagree with this.
Countries should be in the capital of Israel or not there at all. No financial assistance necessary.
It’s so sickening that countries are basically blackmailing Israel for motivation to do the right and conventional thing.

I agree. However, Israel is internationally isolated at a diplomatic level: only a handful of countries, led by the US, support it at the UN. So if they were strict and tried to force the hand of all those other countries that try to do a balancing act b/w Israel and “Palestine” by having embassies in neither, they would probably have no foreign diplomatic missions in Israel
I doubt that any country is blackmailing, or asking to be bribed by Israel to do the right thing. It’s Israel that wants to increase the international recognition of Jerusalem as its undivided capital, which other countries don’t want to do, building on the US moving its embassy there some 7 years ago. Some, like Russia, have said that they recognize West Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, but want to recognize East Jerusalem as the capital of “Palestine”, even though the Palis have no control over it
But yeah, like I said above, every country’s embassy should be in the capital of the host state. There are exceptions, like a number of countries moved their embassies in Ukraine from Kyiv to Lviv to avoid being in Russian crosshairs
