The Islamic Republic of Iran is a terrorist state. Any Christian who would engage with Iran is either agenda-driven beyond Christianity, or clueless about Iran, its history, and its goals.
There appears to be a clear agenda in this dialogue session with Iranian Islamic leaders. As is to be expected, the dialogue included the Palestinian issue. After-all, Hamas, Hizballah, and the Houthis are Iranian proxies. Imanipour referred to the crisis in Gaza (where Hamas and Iran are to blame), while slamming Israel.
During the dialogue, Imanipour also expressed the hope of providing “solutions for the effective presence of religion and spirituality in the future multipolar world.” This mockery here is obvious, considering Iran’s supremacist global ambitions.
Leading this “Islam-Orthodox Christianity dialogue” is Mohammad-Mahdi Imanipour, head of the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, along with Bishop Cyril Nakonechny of Rybinsk and Danilovsky in Kazan, Russia. Imanipour is also Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is a close ally of Russia, and has been supplying it with drones in its war against Ukraine. At the end of April, Iran and Russia ratified a “strategic partnership” agreement. So it isn’t surprising that the “Islam-Orthodox Christianity dialogue” would involve these two allies.
The Iran-Christian dialogue has nothing to do with Orthodox Christianity, but it has everything to do with the Islamic Republic of Iran and its faithful water-carriers in Russia.

The 13th round of interfaith dialogue between Islam and Orthodox Christianity will be held in Iran, an Iranian official says.
Mohammad-Mahdi Imanipour, head of the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, made the announcement on Saturday during a visit to Russia’s Kazan, where he met Metropolitan Cyril of Kazan and Tatarstan Mikhail Nakonechny.
He hailed the successful holding of 12 rounds of talks and hoped that the next round will be able to provide strategies for the effective role of religion and spirituality in the future multi-polar world.
Experts in Iran, in cooperation with researchers from eight other countries, are currently working on a reassessment of the role of religion in today’s life, he added.
Imanipour also referred to the Palestine issue and Israeli crimes in Gaza, calling on followers of divine religions to confront the genocide of Palestinians and their forced displacement from their homeland.
Metropolitan Cyril, for his part, underlined the need for resolving the Palestinian issue and ending the atrocities that the occupying regime is committing against Palestinians in flagrant violation of human rights…

Iran and the Muslims will deceive Non-Muslims using discrimination, deceit, and hatred to appear reasonable in any discussions and to gain alliances with the Non-Muslims against Israel. However, the Muslim goal is to create divisions within the Non-Muslims(Christians vs Jews) to help the Muslims gain more power and more control(Quran 7:99; 3:54; 5:51 and more).

So if an Iranian Christian decides to affiliate w/ the Russian Orthodox Church, will they get favorable treatment by Teheran? As opposed to if they choose to affiliate w/ Catholic or Protestant denominations?
Other than massaging Teheran’s ego, why would the Russian Church care about Israel’s “crimes” in Gaza? I know they take their orders from Putin, but if the opposition to Israel completely imploded eg Iran’s regime fell and more Arabs latched on to the Abraham Accords, would Russia still be obdurate about opposing Israel, or would they look for a different arena to combat the US?

So called inter-faith dialogue is always encouraged and pushed by Muslims. They know that it always represents an opportunity to tell Christians and Jews how wrong their religions are.

Orthodox Christians are some of the most persecuted people. The Catholic church also had their share of persecuting these people. Remember the fourth crusade.
It seems that many Russian orthodox don’t know about their faith and they align with jihadis, Shia or Sunni. The patriarch Kirill of Russia went as so far as he claimed that Muslims are more close to Russian orthodox than Protestants and Catholics. He said that Muslims are more moral than Catholics and Protestants.
