India: Muslims falsely accuse Hindu doctor, allege harassment to claim victimhood after Pahalgam jihad attack

On Sunday, April 26, just four days after a deadly Islamic terrorist attack on Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, a propaganda website known for promoting Islamic narratives in India published a story alleging religious discrimination by a Hindu doctor. According to the report, Dr. Champakali Sarkar, a gynecologist based in Kolkata and employed at Kasturi Das Memorial Super Specialty Hospital, allegedly refused to treat a seven-month-pregnant woman named Kangkona Khatun because she was Muslim.

The site claimed that Dr. Sarkar told Khatun, “People from your religion are killing people from mine. You are murderers.” It further alleged that the doctor said, “Your husband should be killed by Hindus so you can feel the pain we’ve experienced. You should seek treatment only at madrasas and mosques, where Muslims are taught to become terrorists.”

Indian mainstream media, often quick to amplify stories portraying Muslims as helpless victims of Hindu aggression, ran with the report without basic fact-checking or verifying the claims. Within hours, major news outlets reproduced the story, fueling outrage and demonizing the Hindu community — ironically, just days after it had been the victim of a terrorist attack.

However, Khatun’s claims quickly unraveled once an investigation began. While she alleged that Dr. Champakali Sarkar refused to treat her and made hateful remarks, the doctor provided screenshots showing that Khatun had paid her consultation fee on Thursday, April 24 — the very day she claimed she was denied treatment.

The West Bengal Doctors Forum (WBDF) reviewed the evidence submitted by Dr. Sarkar, verified the facts, and confirmed that the patient had indeed been seen by the doctor at the doctor’s residence, and on the patient’s request. “We have verified the online payment receipt for the consultation, which is properly dated and timestamped. This clearly supports that the appointment took place,” the WBDF stated.

Dr. Sarkar has since released a video sharing her side of the story and has initiated legal action against Khatun for attempting to damage her 30-year medical career.

Here we have a Hindu doctor who, just two days after a jihadi terrorist attack on Hindus, welcomed a Muslim patient into her own home for treatment — and in return, she was repaid with nationwide humiliation and slander.

There’s an old Indian proverb, often attributed to a Sikh warrior from the Mughal era, which translates to, “Even if you dip your arm in oil, stick it into a sack of sesame seeds, and a Muslim swears an oath for every seed that clings to you—still, don’t trust him.” Though the saying dates back centuries, its message remains strikingly relevant today, as the behavior of Islamic jihadis has changed little over time.

Right after the Pahalgam killings,  instead of addressing the brutal attack on Hindu pilgrims, the Islamic intelligentsia in India began shifting the narrative to portray Muslims as the real victims. The first step in this effort was a social media campaign claiming that Kashmiri Muslim students across the country were being targeted. Despite widespread claims of fear and insecurity, no verified incident of targeted violence was reported — it was all based on perception, not fact.

One alleged incident at Jamia Millia Islamia University — a Muslim-majority institution — quickly became a national headline. The media, eager to highlight a story of Muslim victimhood, amplified the report of a Kashmiri student who claimed she had been molested, suggesting it was a hate crime by Hindus. But that narrative quickly fell apart when it was revealed that the accused perpetrator was, in fact, a Muslim mess worker from Mewat named Mohammed Abid.

The journalist who initially broke the story, Ubair ul-Hameed, was reportedly pressured to delete the report because it contradicted the preferred narrative. Notably, both this incident and the earlier one involving the Hindu doctor were first pushed by Muslim journalists known for spreading unverified and often misleading propaganda.

The narrative of their fake victimhood extends far beyond just a few isolated incidents. On April 24, 2025, India’s Ministry of External Affairs announced the immediate suspension of all visa services for Pakistani nationals. Pakistani citizens on short-term visas — for tourism, business, or medical reasons — were instructed to leave the country by April 29. This move, spurred by rising security concerns, has exposed the extent to which many Pakistanis have been living in India illegally, in some cases for decades.

These individuals have quietly integrated into Indian society — benefiting from public welfare programs, receiving taxpayer-funded education, and, in some instances, even participating in elections. They now demand to reside and get employment in India, asking, “Where will we go now?”

What has further alarmed authorities is the discovery that thousands of Indian Muslim women have married Pakistani men and returned to India while pregnant. These women have delivered and raised their multiple Pakistani children, using Indian public healthcare and social services. This is a well-planned strategy to weaken the country from within by raising the enemies of India on Indian resources.

Again, troubling reports have emerged of Indian Muslim men working in police services marrying Pakistani women, raising national security concerns about loyalty and internal vulnerabilities.

Now, as the government enforces the order for Pakistani nationals to exit, those who have long lived off Indian resources without legal status are appealing to the media, portraying themselves as victims. This shift in narrative is drawing attention away from the actual victims — the Hindus.

The pattern is familiar — and not unique to India. It mirrors similar tactics seen globally, including in conflict zones like Gaza. The cycle typically unfolds predictably: extremist elements carry out violence against non-Muslims. When consequences follow, these same individuals come in groups and pivot to portray themselves as the oppressed, invoking international sympathy. Unfortunately, in most cases, this strategy works in their favor.
