Hamas is hoping that Pope Leo XIV will continue his predecessor’s practice of repeating Hamas propaganda as if it were fact, and moralizing on its basis. The opponents of Hamas may hope that he does not. We shall see.

Palestinian Islamist militant group Hamas sent its congratulations to new Pope Leo XIV and voiced hope that he would follow his predecessor Pope Francis when it comes to the war in the Gaza Strip.
Israel’s foreign ministry also congratulated the new pope, the first from the United States, who was elected on Thursday.

The late Pope Francis, who died last month aged 88, had been outspoken on the suffering in the Gaza Strip, which has been devastated by Israeli forces in the war that began when Hamas attacked Israel in October 2023.While delivering an overall message of peace, the new Catholic Church leader has yet to set out a strong position or to make clear whether he will maintain Francis’ commitment to Gaza and other specific crises.

First, that Hamas gave its congratulations to this new pope ,as in it sort of praised him, that should be reason enough for Benjamin Netanyahu and the other governmental authorities of the State of Israel not to trust Pope Leo XIII too much.
Second, Hamas has some gall, ,Islam gall,to complain :”brutal Zionist aggression” after iits brutal Islamic aggression on October 7th ,2023.

That Hamas has the animosity to condemn what it calls “Brutal Zionist aggression,” after its aggressive invasion of those hostile vicious malicious and murderous Muslim terrorists attacks on October 7, 2023 That ,very much, is a reflection of the old sayings which are “When you point your finger at someone there are three more fingers pointing back at you.” Likewise , there is the other one which is “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”
