It’s the split screen again.
On the one hand, the Europeans are lifting range restrictions on Ukraine, allowing it to conduct strikes in Russian territory; on the other hand they’re considering (and in some cases, such as the UK, already are) imposing sanctions on Israel and demanding that it stop fighting Hamas.
Back to the split screen in Germany.
Germany’s new chancellor said Monday that his country and other major allies are no longer imposing any range restrictions on weapons supplied to Ukraine as it fights the Russian invasion.
On Monday, he said that “there are no longer any range restrictions for weapons that have been delivered to Ukraine — neither by the British, nor by the French, nor by us, and not by the Americans either.”
“That means Ukraine can also defend itself by, for example, attacking military positions in Russia,” Merz said at a forum organized by WDR public television. “Until a while ago, it couldn’t. … It can now.”
But Merz also ranted that what Israel is doing “can no longer be justified by the fight against Hamas terrorism” and “what the Israeli army is doing now in the Gaza Strip, frankly speaking, I no longer understand with what goal.”
So on the one hand, Ukraine can escalate into Russia, and that’s an understandable “goal”, but Israel fighting to destroy Hamas is no longer an understandable goal.
Even the United States seems to be moving toward the European position, becoming more accepting of Ukraine’s campaign and less accepting of Israel’s campaign, but that’s what happens when the diplomatic blob’s consensus takes hold. Its gravitational pull is hard to escape. We’ll see if the United States manages to break free of it or if the Elbridge Colbys will prevail and turn American foreign policy back into Obama’s foreign policy under the guise of ‘realism’.

He’s an idiot. Anyone with a brain can “understand” that Israel is sick and tired, fed-up, with hamas terrorism, with the murdering rapists coming to their little village places to kidnap, rape and torture to death babies, children, young and older adults.
He should be able to *understand*….and could if he wanted to….that there are still hostages being held and hamas should not be rewarded with any *deals* to let them off the hooks.

Any member of hamas left standing is an invitation to another invasion on innocent Israelis.

Lets wait and see what Trumps plan is for Gaza instead of name calling before anyone knows.
My Opinion is that all of HAMAS should be eradicated. All of their tunnels should be filled with human and pig sewage so they can never be used again, And the term refugee camp as applied to Gaza should be eradicated forever.
The question is how to do this and have a forever peace.

Israel should ignore the sanctions, and do what it needs to against Hamas
Also, I understand how valuable life is in Jewish theology, but already they’ve seen how their hostages have been killed every time there were abductions. They’ve done things like exchanging many live prisoners for far fewer dead hostages in the past. All this has just emboldened Hamas, and partially contributed to October 7th. So they need to reconsider how they address this
I know this may violate some of their sacred tenets, but the next time something like this happens, the Israelis should assume that the hostages are already dead, and retaliate w/ the goal of wiping out the jihad group in question, even if it means heavy civilian collateral casualties. Do what the Russians did in Lebanon in the 80s when some of their people were abducted: start sending terrorists body-parts of their prisoners. Even if Israel doesn’t want to “stoop” to that level, changing how they retaliate, regardless of what the UN says or does, will have a salutary effect on every jihad group fighting them

The Euro’s. Paris is on fire. Germany has a jihadist stab-fest epidemic. Many other Euro countries have a migrant rapist problem. And there they are telling Israel what they should do. In America we call that whistling past the graveyard. Really, who do they think they are? Whoever they think they are is not who they are. The Euro’s desperately need an intervention.

I have yet to read about rape gangs running rampant in Israel; or daily incursions into churches where they are being set on fire, preachers murdered and the scummy perps being let go because they need to give haircuts or teach their children evil things.

Germany played a big role in convincing Jews that the safest place to live is in their ancestral homeland. Germany then replaced its peaceful, economically beneficial Jews with jihadists. Germany should stop criticizing Israel when it defends itself from the Islamofascists. Eventually Germany may have to defend itself from the same scourge.
