California: Newsom gives taxpayer funds for antiterror program to mosque whose imam defended Oct. 7 Hamas massacre

Of course. If the mosque hadn’t supported jihad terrorism, it wouldn’t have gotten the funding.

“Gavin Newsom Awards Antiterrorism Grant to Mosque Linked to 9/11 Hijackers, Pro-Hamas Cleric,” by Chuck Ross, Washington Free Beacon, May 1, 2025:

California governor Gavin Newsom (D.) recently awarded taxpayer funds under a state antiterrorism program to a San Diego mosque that has been linked to 9/11 hijackers and whose imam defended the Hamas attack on Israel.

Newsom, considered a top 2028 presidential contender, awarded nearly $200,000 to the Islamic Center of San Diego in March as part of a program to help religious institutions and nonprofits beef up security to protect against potential terrorist attacks, according to state records.

“Today more than ever, our state stands together to support our communities. Californians deserve the right to worship, love, and gather safely, without fear of violence,” said Newsom, whose administration has given another $500,000 to the San Diego mosque in previous years.

The Islamic Center of San Diego, led by Imam Taha Hassane, has condoned anti-Israel violence over the years. Hassane, who joined the center in 2004, defended Hamas’s slaughter of Israeli civilians on Oct. 7, saying in a sermon weeks later that “resistance [against Israel] is justified,” the Washington Free Beacon previously reported.

“We cannot accuse somebody who is fighting for his life to be a terrorist. The terrorist is the one who started the occupation, not the one who is defending himself,” said Hassane, whose remarks prompted his removal from San Diego’s Human Relations Commission.

Hassane’s wife, Lallia Allali, resigned from her job with the San Diego school district after she posted a cartoon following the Oct. 7 attacks that showed a Star of David beheading five children. She currently teaches courses on “Islamophobia” at the Islamic Center of San Diego.

The Islamic Center of San Diego gained notoriety in the wake of 9/11 after revelations that two of the al Qaeda operatives who flew the plane that hit the Pentagon—Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar—prayed regularly at the mosque. An official at the mosque also allegedly helped the terrorists receive a $5,000 wire transfer from the nephew of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of 9/11. Other mosque leaders hosted a welcoming party for the hijackers when they arrived in San Diego in 2000, according to the 9/11 Commission report….

    Under Islam and Islamic Law, Muslims have the Legal Right and the Quranic Duty to terrorize Non-Muslims because neglecting this QURANIC DUTY is a Crime against Allah. Jihad means warfare against Non-Muslims to ESTABLISH ISLAM’S RELIGION(Quran 3:151; 9:5,29,111; Muslim Law Manual: “Reliance of the Traveller”, o9.0 and more).

    More specifically, Islam, a terroristic-destructive way of life, is a Muslim Terrorist Ideology and Murderous, Criminal Enterprise of intolerance, continuous war, discrimination, segregation, supremacy, genocide, polygamy, propaganda, deceit, hatred, incitement, sedition, rape, terrorism, and violence against all Non-Muslims as taught in the Quran(Quran 2:208,216; 4:65,89,95; 5:14,64; 8:12,39,74; 9:5,21,29,36, 41,49,73,88,111,123; 21:92; 49:15; 60:4 and more).

  2. California: gone from the wonderful state I grew up in, Vacated in 1997 without regret, miss the beaches but sadly they too are gone because you never know when you’ll get stuck with a needle or step in human crap.

    Newsom has silly ideas of what he’s doing and the residents keep electing the liberals that have destroyed the state, Earthquake may still send the state into the ocean,time will tell.

    • I vacated in 2008. The first 2 years of Arnold as governor were decent, but then, he fell under wifey’s influence, and totally screwed the pooch. Saw the return of Jerry Brown and then Newsom as governor

      It’s news to me that California has term limits for governors: they have a big enough Democrat majority to overturn that law if they wanted

    • Trump won’t be the one running against him. Vance, or whoever the GOP nominee is if it’s not him, would have to be the one carrying the baton

  9. Why is our tax money being given to mosques or any religious group? I thought we had a seperation of church and state in America. We need to can politicians that waste our hard earned money period, no matter which political party they are with.

  10. As long as Islam is viewed as a religion, instead of the form of anti-constitutional government that it is, it will be eligible for government anti-terrorism grants like churches, synagogues and other houses of worship.

    The problem is that the anti-constitutional, anti-democratic government, known as Islam is allowed into our country. Our State Dept. has said it wouldn’t issue visas to terror supporters. Then we shouldn’t allow application for citizenship to those who, by definition of their beliefs, i.e. no separation of mosque and state, support working against our constitution.

    Islam is a totalitarian for of government that includes a religion. Islam is not compatible with our constitution.
