The college students erupting in anti-Israel protests on campuses across the United States, and the marchers at Thursday’s “All Out for Gaza” demonstration in New York City, repeatedly echo the talking points issued by the terrorists of Hamas.
But inside Israel, a very different story is unfolding: Millions of Arab citizens are rejecting Hamas and standing with the Jewish state.
The Hamas-led terror attack on Oct. 7, 2023 wasn’t just a bloodbath — it was a defining moment for Israel.
Over 1,200 people were murdered. Children shot in their beds. Families torched in their homes. Civilians dragged screaming into Gaza.
It was the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust, and a shock to every decent person on the planet.
As Israel reeled and the IDF prepared for war, another fear surfaced: Would the country’s fragile Jewish-Arab internal fabric come undone?
It didn’t.
In fact, something extraordinary happened — something Hamas didn’t expect.
Arab Israelis — Israel’s 2-million-strong Arab minority — didn’t riot. They didn’t wave Hamas flags. They didn’t cheer.
They stood with Israel.
Arab citizens of Israel don’t all agree with the government. Many have grievances concerning inequality, discrimination and underinvestment.
But when terrorists stormed Israeli homes and massacred civilians, Arab Israelis didn’t flinch. They chose loyalty….
To which we might add: Arabs and Jews work together in the same offices and factories, are treated by the same medical personnel in the same hospitals, play on the same sports teams and in the same orchestras, attend the same universities and graduate schools, and own businesses together — everything from restaurants to high-tech start-ups. The only difference in their rights is in the Arabs’ favor, for Jews must, while Arabs may, serve in the military.
Arab leadership has also shown real courage. Mansour Abbas, head of the Ra’am party, called Hamas’s massacre “barbaric.”…
Mansour Abbas is the most important political figure among the Israeli Arabs, and the leader in the Knesset of the Arab List Party, known by its Hebrew acronym as “Ra’am.” His words carry weight.
There’s another, quieter symbol of unity: Bnei Sakhnin, an Arab-majority soccer team in Israel’s top league.
Arab and Jewish players compete together, cheered on by fans from all backgrounds. The team plays under the Israeli flag.
It’s not just a sports story — it’s coexistence in motion….
When Bnei Sakhnin’s stadium announcer criticized the IDF and praised Hamas, the team promptly fired him.
This news from Israel, about its Arab population’s holding steady in its support for the state, will not appear at the BBC, on CNN, or The New York Times, or The Washington Post. It shows Israel in a good light. And as we all know, that will never do.

On paper you are right Billy but in reality Arabs in Israel are free to choose a side whereas under Hamas rule there is no choice. They are an interesting subset of Muslims who have tasted a better life. In Muslim majority countries this is not possible. The problem in the US and Europe etc… , where the Muslim brotherhood reigns, there is no freedom to choose for Muslims. The western politicians cannot see how they are enabling the extremists and not standing against them in support of Muslims who want a better life and need to feel protected.

Palestinians who are gay or support gay relatives are ostracized or “honor” killed even by their families in Gaza and Judaea/Samaria.
They escape to Israel, the humanitarian, tolerant society.

Thee are not Israeli Palestinian??? But they are the same people as the Palestinians in Gaza or West Bank. We should call them Israeli Palestinians to mock those who say there are Palestinian ethnic.
Anyway, these muslims are condemning Hamas because Hamas is losing. If Israel were the losing side, these Arabs might have been cheering Hamas, afterall, they are muslims.

Are they all Arab muslims? Demographic breakdown would be good to know.
I share your concern about Arab muslims being loyal to Israel as long as Islam is losing.
Super sleeper cells are such a valuable military tactic it’s hard to believe they wouldn’t be employed.
Warm fuzzy feelings of coexistence is what got the people on Gaza’s border slaughtered, tortured and kidnapped.
I hope we are wrong and we never have to see our concerns tested and proved.
