Biden’s Gaza pier project was an ambitious effort to open a direct channel to Gaza under U.S. military control and cut Israel out of the loop. It was also an utter disaster leading to one death and, we now know, 62 injuries.
The pier approach had not been intended for these conditions. Whoever chose to come up with and implement the idea had no understanding of the practical realities and the results were costly and horrendous.
During the mission, 62 personnel were injured, the Defense Department Inspector General said in its report, far more than previously disclosed. Army Sgt. Quandarius Stanley was critically injured in May 2024 in an accident involving a forklift aboard a Navy ship; he died five months later at a Veterans Affairs hospital.
The report underlines the questionable value of a mission that cost an estimated $230 million but failed to accomplish the goals outlined by the Biden administration and Pentagon officials. The pier mission ran for three months, but it was functional for only about 20 days.
More than two dozen watercraft and other equipment were damaged, causing about $31 million in repair and maintenance costs, the inspector general report found, citing numerous failings.
That’s on top of the $230 million mission cost.
Now there’s a lot of people on social media accusing Israel of getting America into wars, but Americans didn’t die or were injured fighting for Israel. They died and were injured trying to send supplies to ‘Palestinians.’
Israel doesn’t run American foreign policy. Islamic terrorist supporters do.

Another mistake by Biden, who made so many over his entire political career. Forget his disastrous Presidency as exampled here with this Gaza rubbish, which was a farce from the outset. As Senator since 1973 he did a lot of other damage, a few examples being his voting for 50% of Social Security being taxed in the 1980s and 85% of SS being taxed in the 1990s (although regularly and even nauseatingly stating he was for “the little guy”).
He also engaged in some of the most heinous personal attacks against good men like Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas. I mean truly awful stuff about two men who were far better than Joe Biden has ever been.
The man is an utter disgrace. He is the quintessential professional politician who accomplishes nothing positive all the while enriching himself enormously. Actually, Biden is worse than this. If only he had just been a nothing and did no harm all the while making himself wealthy in very dubious ways, this would certainly be bad enough. But this SOB dd actual harm to America time and time again due to his massive ineptitude and stupidity.

The debacle of that exit from Afghanistan in August of 2021 which resulted in many deaths, and leaving billions of dollars of American military equipment behind for the retrograde Taliban, serves as a case in point (and which exit Biden, and I quote, called “an extraordinary success”) as does his being just fine with the lawfare enacted by the single worst Attorney General in American history, one Merrick Garland, who authorized the raiding of Trump’s home by the FBI in August of 2022. And so on and on, including opening America’s borders to the det4rius of the world and which led to the deaths of American citizens like Laken Riley., particularly many females who were raped and brutally murdered by Biden’s traitorous open border policy, for which Biden should have been impeached and removed from office in a just and sensible America but under Biden and his cronies we did not live in a just and sensible America.
I despise Joe Biden. He is exactly what the Founding Fathers never wanted in the American political system. But we got him nonetheless and to no good result unless it be a heeded warning that no more Joe Bidens should ever appear in American history because this wretched excuse of a human being inflicted his political ambitions for half a century upon the American Republic and such ambitions have done so much harm to said republic.

Not really surprising given the times and values of today. An article on the Internet stated that the Navy built 441 piers in the North, Central, South and Southwest Pacific. The average military recruit came from the ranks of America’s tradesmen. They were older and more experienced. After all, construction is essentially a hazardous business in the best circumstances. Bold innovation in the face of a determined enemy and often without sufficient tools or material was standard operating procedure.
The first lesson is that organizations from their outset must be designed with a clarity of mission and purpose that matches the task at hand and that it galvanizes wide support among existing military and government organizations. The design of the organization must provide the inspiration that leads to the recruitment of the best and brightest. No DIE to be found in those days.
Back in the day the Seabees hung a sign in the newly constructed base on Bougainville: “The difficult we do now, the impossible takes a little longer.”
We need to take lessons that we learned from the past instead of banning them because they are not inclusive or some such leftist BS.

Yes, the left seems to regard the armed forces as nothing but an alternative to going to college, so they force all of their ridiculous rules on them. The idea that they have a purpose, defending our country, and that that purpose is thwarted by their rules is way beyond them.

I was a US Army Combat Engineer. I was appalled by what I watched. The US Military Sealift Command has supply ships designed just for this kind of operation. They were not used. Brain-Dead Biden and his Israel-hating rodents were fatally allergic to setting foot in Gaza. The docking pier used was not designed to be used in open water. The ship designed for this job uses landing craft and helicopters to transport supplies to shore.
