I am surprised that a man of your learning Mr Spencer, does not know that the evidence for the existence of Jesus is very sketchy. The supposed reference from Josephus was later found to be a forgery, inserted in his work later. Also given the lifespan of people at that time. and that the first gospel was only written 60 years after the alleged life and crucifiction, is impossible that anybody who knew him to be actually alive. Jesus also told his disciples that he would return within their lifetimes which suggests that he was delusional about his fate.

Entertaining, but I was expecting some real whoppers. I cannot say they were the greatest in the universe.
In my opinion one of the greatest lies but believed by so many, is that the Muslims are the original residents of the State of Israel, even some claim that Jesus was a Muslim. I refrain from using the P word. In fact there were no or very few non Jews living there and the invasion of the area by Muslims only happened after Mohammad invented his religion and the subsequent elimination of Cgristianity in the region. The majority of the ancestors of today’s Muslims came to the region during the Ottoman Empire when it was encouraged. So if there are settlers in the area it is them not the Jews, who were returning to their ancestral lands.Futhermore the idea that Islam is going to conquer the world and be ruled by a world wide caliphate is about as realistic, as the Nazi idea that the Aryan race was going to conquer the world. Nazi germany and Imperial Japan were much more formidable enemies than the Muslims who cannot even live in peace with each other.
