Trump’s words aligned with Netanyahu’s longtime warning. In 2021, Netanyahu said:
Iran has never given up its quest for nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them, ….I will never allow Iran to obtain the nuclear capability to carry out its genocidal goal of eliminating Israel.
Although Iran has persistently insisted that its nuclear program was for peaceful purposes, Iran violated the nuclear deal, by its own admission, and boasted about doing so. It also repeated threats and provocations regarding its military capabilities.
Iran has also refused to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi warned that Iran is enriching uranium to levels only found in countries that are making bombs.
“Trump says US ‘having direct talks’ with Iran over nuclear deal,” by Robert Tait, Guardian, March 8, 2025:
Donald Trump has announced that the US is to hold direct talks with Iran in a bid to prevent the country from obtaining an atomic bomb, while also warning Tehran of dire consequences if they fail.
Sitting beside Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in the Oval Office, Trump indicated that discussions would start this coming weekend, though he also implied communications had already begun.
He said the talks were happening in an effort to avoid what he called “the obvious” – an apparent reference to US or Israeli military strikes against the regime’s nuclear facilities.
“We’re having direct talks with Iran, and they’ve started. It’ll go on Saturday. We have a very big meeting, and we’ll see what can happen,” he told reporters.
“And I think everybody agrees that doing a deal would be preferable to doing the obvious. And the obvious is not something that I want to be involved with, or, frankly, that Israel wants to be involved with, if they can avoid it.
“So we’re going to see if we can avoid it. But it’s getting to be very dangerous territory. And hopefully those talks will be successful. And I think it would be in Iran’s best interests if they are successful.”…
“I think if the talks aren’t successful with Iran … Iran is going to be in great danger, and I hate to say it – because they can’t have a nuclear weapon,” he said.
“It’s not a complicated formula. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. Right now we have countries that have nuclear power that shouldn’t have it. But I’m sure we’ll be able to negotiate out of that too as part of this later on down the line.
“And if the talks aren’t successful I actually think it will be a very bad day for Iran.”…

Well, how many Spirits on Diego Garcia? 7? Plus the tanker planes? And let’s let people guess how many M.O.P. there are? (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massive_Ordnance_Penetrator). Those mothers weigh 30,000 lbs., 14.000 kg’s. The only plane capable of delivering such a payload is the B-2, which happens to be ‘stealth’ as well, which comes in handy when trying to evade the barbarian air defence systems. Well said: indeed it’s not a complicated formula. It’s even easier than Trump seems to suggest. Don’t ever trust the barbarians on their word, just bomb, baby, bomb!

President Trump is right when he spoke of Iran being dangerous. Likewise, President Trump is also right when he declared that “Iran can’t [be allowed ]to have a nuclear weapon.”
For that t hostile and vicious Islamic regime of Iran is enriching uranium for nuclear weapons should be of no surprise to any informed person. It even supplies deadly weapons to those murderous jihad entities Hamas and Hezbollah.
Therefore it should be made known that if the founder of the current Islamic tyranny ,Ayatollah Khomeini would still be alive today ,he would spit on those Westerners who say that “Islam is a non-violent religion.”
For as Ayatollah Khomeini had clearly announced that “Those who know nothing about Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war….There are hundreds psalms and hadiths urging of Muslims to value war and to fight. …I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.” [1] So if he was alive today who would spit on those Westerners who say that “Islam is a non-violent religion.” [1]
There are also many places in the Qu ‘ran that instruct in violence and killing for the cause of Islam.
As found in ,for example Surah 2:191. 4:89.. 5:33. 9:5, 111,112 ,123. 47:4.

Unlike other people, I was very disappointed by the president yesterday, for a number of reasons:
⮞ His insistence on direct talks w/ Iran, despite them having used all those opportunities to get to where they are today. If they’re not near having a nuke, it’s thanks to the blanket Israeli bombing of Iran last year following an Iranian attempt on Israel, where they took out major undeclared nuclear sites of the regime, to avoid Biden sanctions
⮞ His praise of Turkey, and particularly Erdogan. Turkey’s role in the region is that of a rogue for multiple reasons, not just Israel. It’s their attempted genocide of Kurds in both Turkey and Syria, their collaboration w/ Azerbaijan against Armenia and their belligerent attitude towards their Mediterranean neighbors – Cyprus, Israel, Greece and Egypt in claiming maritime oil deposits in Levantine waters way beyond their territorial limits. Only reason they stuck to it was the discovery of more deposits on their Black Sea coast. Turkey is even less of an ally of the US than Russia is, regardless of how much the president might admire Erdogan
⮞ JNS journalist Alex Trayman asked him a question about whether the Palestinian Authority could still be trusted w/ governing Gaza, or Judea/Samaria, and also whether October 7th marked the end of the “Two State solution”. I rarely use the term “ramble” for the president, but in this case, that’s exactly what he did: he rambled on about his meetings w/ the hostages, w/o addressing the 2 basic questions, which are key to any solution going forward. If he didn’t want to go there b’cos he’s not ready to turn on too many Arab regimes, he should have said that it is still something being discussed. Instead, he totally ignored the question
⮞ Talking about another ceasefire to recover the remaining 24 hostages, when Hamas has violated every ceasefire to date
⮞ Had nothing to say about which other countries were interested in taking in Gaza refugees
While he didn’t address where this Saturday’s meeting will be taking place, Alex Trayman said on one of JNS’s shows today that it will be in Oman. That might explain the discrepancy b/w Trump’s claim that these are direct talks, vs Iran’s claims that they are indirect. They probably mean that Oman has a greater role in the negotiations than what the US side thinks it has
Yeah, his policy is way better than “Biden’s” ie Jake Sullivan’s/Samantha Powers’/Susan Rice’s, but that ain’t saying much. I preferred 45 a lot more to 47
