On the story of the Tatar converts, Robert wondered whether the ones in Moscow were Crimean Tatars? They may have been, but there are Tatars in different locations in Russia. The Crimeans were one, but they were deported by Stalin to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Then there is Tatarstan west of the Urals, capital Kazan, which is a Republic of the Tatars. Then they are there in Bashkortostan right next door, and then, to various degrees, in various other republics. It is horrifying that the Russians did nothing to protect those Tatars who decided to be Orthodox Russian Christians, as opposed to sunnis/sufis/Jadids
The discussion of the two EPIC city buildings was interesting. It’s good that Gov Abbott is taking an active look at this. I sure hope that Ken Paxton goes through it w/ a fine toothed comb, even while he attempts to primary John Cornyn. A commentator at the end asked why did the feds take down Waco but not Epic city? I daresay that had EPIC city been a thing in 1993, Janet Reno would have taken it down
The more we learn about Josh Shapiro, the less I like him. It’s good that he wasn’t on the Dem ticket last November, or that race may have been a lot closer, or even gone the Dem way. Despite all his pandering, the fact that he’s Jewish, as well as his student article that he wrote when he was 20 years old, will be weaponized against him were he to run in the Dem primary for POTUS
Fully endorse David’s analysis on what should be done w/ prison populations in terms of separating muslims from non-muslims, so that the former couldn’t bully the latter into converting to islam and building a big jihadist army for the future. Too bad nobody does it
I also liked David mocking that Algerian fanatic over his lack of a zebiba. Hopefully, that gets him into trouble w/ his more devout comrades, and results in him getting one from them 😈
On the comments of when real countries existed, I thought that under modern definitions, all real countries started w/ the Treaty of Westphalia
If you’re gonna do one of Hatun’s songs, do the one that starts “I am Muhammad, I’m a prophet because I said so….” That’s the only one I like at all
About using search engines and AI, AI is a bad idea to use to learn things, since it’s heavily influenced by the preponderance of data. Reason Grok is the way it is is that it has encountered enough muslims who’ve manipulated it into believing what it believes. That methodology is a good one when doing polling, but a bad one when it applies to an actual analysis. Also, Grok, Gemini, ChatGPT, CoPilot, et al can not actually read books themselves: they only know what we have read and fed to them. For instance, you can’t upload “The Critical Qur’an” for Grok to read and then absorb. That is one major shortcoming of AI the way it currently is
I looked at Michael Harts list after following David’s Googling suggestion. I’m not convinced by any of the answers. Truth be told, the results would be too overarching. For instance, he lists Sir Isaac Newton and Tsai Lun. I haven’t heard of the latter, and the former doesn’t influence me, even though I don’t disagree w/ Newton’s laws of motion. The others they mention are founders of religions that I don’t follow, not just Muhammad, but Christ, Buddha, Confucius. Truth be told, everybody has very different people who influence them and their ways of thinking and daily decisions, and just b’cos someone is a muslim or a Christian or a Buddhist doesn’t mean that his/her decisions are influenced by Muhammad, Christ or Buddha (I’m including MINOs, CINOs, BINOs in all of this)
On your inability to find old stories on jihadwatch, I’ve run into that as well. In future, a good idea might be to have an automated tool export every story you did from 2003 to an Excel Spreadsheet, w/ links, so that a search would be easier. Once you find the article, it will be easy to fill additional columns w/ keywords that would help you in future searches
I never even knew that Pakistan had dolphins, but about 3-4 years ago, I heard a story about them being raped by Paki muslims. I’m out of words on how to describe them
