The failure to learn German does not make Ahmed a refugee.
There have been a lot of dumb lawsuits against the Trump administration, but the one by the International Refugee Assistance Project epresenting World Church Services, HIAS and Lutheran Community Services is particularly dumb.
One of the Pacito v. Trump plantiffs is ‘Ahmed’, an Afghan man currently in Germany, on account of Biden’s mass evacuation, and the lawsuit insists that he be allowed to come to America because “he does not know the German language, which prevents him from working in Germany to support himself”.
And it’s somehow easier to dump him in America than spend 10 Euros on a DuoLingo subscription.
The failure to learn German does not make Ahmed a refugee. And it’s a whole lot cheaper for us to buy him German lessons than to spend the rest of his life subsidizing him and his entire clan in America.

If he already learned English, which itself is a Germanic language, then he has the ability to learn German.

Going by the *logic* of these idiots who want him here, all those people in the U.S. who don’t understand/speak English, should be sent somewhere else….but the same people would have none of that.
Instead, everything having to do with *rights,* is written in just about every major ‘tongue.’

She didn’t speak a word of English, so she spoke in Chinese into her phone, and whatever translation app she used translated her question into English, and my co-worker was able to help her. Later, she described to me how that Chinese customer interacted w/ her
Everybody has a phone these days, so there is no reason that they shouldn’t be able to work similarly w/ people who speak different languages
If they are technophobes, then simply don’t go to countries where they don’t speak your language. For that reason, when I was 21 and was looking at countries to go to for further studies & jobs, I never considered countries like France, Russia, Italy, Japan…. where I don’t speak the language

Depends on which courts these lawsuits were filed, and what sort of judges preside over them
Incidentally, does it need 2/3 of Senate or House to shut down these courts? I know that such majorities are needed to impeach judges, but what about when they shut down such courts?

If he doesn’t know German, return him & his clan to Afghanistan. I’m willing to bet that his English is nothing to write home about either, and we as a nation speak English, and some Español, but certainly not Pashto or Dari. If Afghanistan is too unsafe for him, send him to Pakistan, Tajikistan or even Iran

My question is who is and funds the International Refugee Assistance Project. Is it church groups or people like George Soros? From what I read here, this guy doesn’t qualify as a refugee just because he doesn’t speak the language of the country he’s in.
