New in PJ Media:
What’s a girl who has lost a race for the presidency to do?
Coming out of her disastrous run for president in 2024, Kamala Harris faces a choice that is virtually identical to the one Richard Nixon faced after he lost the presidential election of 1960. Should she run for governor of California in 2026 or try again for the presidency in 2028? Or both? Nixon opted to run for governor of California in 1962 and ended up losing, which drastically reduced his chances of getting the Republican presidential nomination in 1964.
Aware of this, on the night he lost the California gubernatorial race, The Trickster ostentatiously retired from politics, uttering the famous statement: “You won’t have Nixon to kick around anymore, because, gentlemen, this is my last press conference.” Kamala’s prospects likewise look so dim at this point that the nation’s pundits might not have her to kick around too much longer, either.
Whatever she chooses, Harris does not apparently see a run for California governor as a stepping stone to seeking the Democrat Party’s presidential nomination again. The New York Times reported Thursday that some of Harris’ “closest allies say she is leaning against another White House run in 2028 and, instead, toward a campaign for governor of California in 2026. Her political choice is binary, she has told people: She can run for governor or president, but not both.”
Either way, however, Harris might be better off just staying home. The Daily Caller reported Thursday that all three of the hosts of “The Morning Meeting,” Mark Halperin, Sean Spicer, and Dan Turrentine, predicted that Harris “would likely face defeat if she pursued the governorship,” with Halperin “saying a loss would be humiliating for her.”
Spicer based his assessment on how poorly Harris campaigned for president in 2024, saying: “I had an advance copy of that book, ‘Fight,’ by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes … If she ran for dogcatcher, she’d lose. It is so bad. When you start to read how horrible of a candidate she was, how the staff infighting, the inability to — I mean, I really don’t care what she runs for. I mean, her decision-making, her staffing, are atrocious … She couldn’t run for anything and win.”
Turrentine, a former Democratic strategist, agreed, and gave the impression that Harris was aware enough of her own deficiencies to opt for the easier campaign: “I do not think she’ll run for president.” But, he said, it might not turn out to be as easy as she assumes: “I think if she runs for governor, it will not be nearly as easy as she thinks it will. And if I had to bet, I’d bet she loses running for governor for the reasons Sean said.”

As informative as this website is, it’s still a little bit clunky to use.

Nixon with all his flaws ,he was an intelligent man who could speak in full sentences and get a message across .Harris not so much ,if the” best” the democrats have are people like Harris ,AOC ,the old communist made his political bones attacking millionaires until he became one Sanders then the republicans will win the presidency in 2028. .Comparing Harris to Nixon is an insult to Nixon ,the only thing they have in common was they where both California political creatures from much different times .Both could be very unlikeable for different reasons ,Nixon for his bullying method of politics ,and Harris for her being just being very stupid and unhinge emotionally ,she is the more dangerous person if put in a place of power. Who was running people like senile Biden and smart as a box of hammers Harris. These two people are the reasons most people have tune out the MSM. Whose idea to pick Tim Walz as a running mate ,it was like they wanted to lose.

Nixon and China, how easy people forget that his move to seek out China is why we have issues today.

Bill Clinton also has some responsibility with trade agreements opening up trade on a large scale ,giving China favorable trade status with America in the 1990s ..Then Bush, Obama Biden ,going along with it as American manufacturing got hollowed out with China dumping their products here .

At the time, the Soviets were the biggest threat to the West, and combined w/ China, they were formidable. That’s why Nixon saw it worthwhile to split the Moscow-Beijing alliance so that the West would only have to deal w/ Moscow, and not the coalition
In 1989, after Tienanmen Square, that policy should have been reversed. The Soviets were getting less authoritarian (and communism would fold in that country in 2 years), whereas the Chicoms still had an iron grip on power. That was when the US should have reversed the policy, and become pro-Russian but anti-Chinese. Moscow and Beijing still hadn’t quite patched things up. Russia could have been included in NATO and encouraged to get belligerent w/ China. Which would have been a lot more interesting than their faceoff w/ Ukraine
It was a golden opportunity, especially for a foreign policy genius like President George HW Bush. Shows what sort of a foreign policy genius he was that he never took it

Yes–even critics often cite Nixon going to China as one of his great moves. But I think that embracing Mao while throwing Taiwan under the bus was pretty ugly.

I’d love to see her be the Dem nominee for California governor, so that the GOP candidate has a real chance of winning back the state and start making it red again, like it was in the 80s

With no ID voting in California ,the dead voting block in California ,illegal’s aliens ,absent no check on address mail in voting .a republican has a snowball chance in hell of winning that state .Of course everything is on board on the level according to MSM and the NY slimes newspaper.

Infidel,
Theoretically yes.
Unfortunately, elections in California are now totally rigged.

With the border closed there’s plenty of suitable jobs for her. She might just be able to pick vegetables and clean pools if she tried really hard
somehistory says
she’s only good at creating the word salad. She wouldn’t know a real vegetable or when they were ready to harvest. Who would hire her for such a position?
David M says
She should audition for cackling witch soundtracks at Disney.

Remember when she ran for President at the Democrat convention, she got 1% of the Democrat vote. Tulsi Gabbard absolutely destroyed her in the debate.
