India: More killings, rapes and riots reported from all over the country as Ramadan 2025 ends

On Monday, March 31, a group of Muslims brutally attacked a Hindu youth named Vikas Singh after he attempted to stop them from consuming alcohol in a public space in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. This was the day of Eid Al-Fitr,  marking the end of Ramadan this year. According to Vikas’s maternal uncle, the incident unfolded when Vikas noticed a group of men drinking near his village and requested them to stop. His intervention enraged the group, prompting one of the men, Aman, to inquire about his identity. Upon learning that Vikas was Hindu, Aman incited his associates, Farhat and Arbaaz, to launch a violent assault. The attackers pinned him down and stabbed him multiple times, leaving him critically injured. Vikas managed to escape and was rushed to a nearby hospital before being transferred to a more advanced medical facility for further treatment. Following the attack, an FIR was filed at Chharra police station, and law enforcement swiftly apprehended two of the primary suspects.

Over the past few years, the period of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr has witnessed a surge in Muslims committing targeted violence against Hindus in India. One of the most harrowing cases last year involved the brutal murder of two Hindu children by their neighbor, Sajid Khan, and his brother, Javed Khan. The assailants also attacked a third child, leaving the child gravely injured. Disturbingly, reports suggest that the perpetrator drank the blood of his victims after stabbing them multiple times. This was the time when Muslims worldwide were observing Ramadan fasts.

This year, again, the south Asian country saw a series of attacks against Hindus. From stone pelting and riots to cases of forced religious conversion and sexual violence, the community has suffered extensively.

On March 26, 2025, Muslim mobs torched Hindu-owned shops and vehicles in the Mothabari area of Malda, West Bengal. Videos of the rioters brandishing Islamic flags quickly spread across social media. As of now, there is no clear explanation for what triggered the violence. However, history suggests that such jihad-inclined elements often need little justification to unleash chaos.

For instance, on March 25, four men — Aslam, Ishaan, Sharif, and Rafiq — launched an attack on Hindu worshippers at a local temple in Bahadurpur village, Uttar Pradesh, after a stray dog wandered into their mosque.

Similarly, in Delhi, a 65-year-old Hindu man was stabbed to death by his Muslim neighbors after he attempted to mediate a dispute between their children. The victim, survived by his wife and two sons, lived in a Muslim-majority neighborhood where tensions had reportedly been simmering.

On March 17, a mob of over 1,000 Muslims, including children, wreaked havoc in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Incited by rumors of alleged blasphemy circulated on social media pages operating with Islamic names, the mob vandalized Hindu-owned shops and vehicles. Several police officers sustained injuries while trying to control the violence.

On March 30, Arshan Sheikh and four other Muslims were charged with attacking seven Hindu men for wearing saffron attire and chanting “Jai Shri Ram” during a Gudi Padwa procession in Malad East, a suburb in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the Ranisati Road in Pathanwadi. Reports indicate that the Hindu men were carrying saffron flags, celebrating the arrival of spring, marking the beginning of the new year as per the Hindu calendar, followed by Maharashtrians while on their way to an event when the attackers suddenly assaulted them.

Approximately 20 cases of Muslim perpetrators engaging in the rape, gang rape, and abductions of Hindu girls were reported in the past month. Disturbingly, most victims were minors, subjected to prolonged torture, and some were even pressured to convert to Islam. On March 7, Sultan Mohammad raped and murdered a girl named Mitali in Mohali, Punjab. In another case, Nayaz raped, killed, and disposed of Swati’s body in a river in Haveri, Karnataka; the incident was uncovered on March 6. Another horrifying attack took place in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, where a young girl was lured through a social media platform. Instead of a casual meeting, she was taken to a graveyard, where she was raped and savagely assaulted.

Despite media efforts to downplay the religious nature of these crimes, a disturbing pattern emerges — one reminiscent of the grooming gang scandals in the United Kingdom, where the victim is always a non-Muslim girl. These fanatics never target any girl from their community, which establishes the communal angle of these crimes. In yet another shocking case, on March 24, nine schoolgirls in Surajpur, Chhattisgarh, filed complaints against their school principal, Mohammad Rauf, accusing him of molesting a total of 19 Hindu girls.

These incidents underscore the growing communal tensions and the urgent need for more decisive legal and social interventions to ensure justice and safety for the Hindus. But neither the judiciary nor the alleged pro-Hindu government is taking any effective measures to safeguard the community from Islamic jihadis in the country.
