This is not integrity, it’s dishonesty.
Even by the convoluted standards of politics, Gov. Josh Shapiro and Democrats are playing a strange game after the arson attack over Gaza on the governor’s mansion.
Gov. Shapiro has refused to discuss the motive for the attack even while Democrats, including supporters of campus Hamas activists like Halie Soifer, who heads the Jewish Democratic Council of America, blame Trump for an attack by one of their own people. This bait and switch depends on Shapiro keeping his mouth shut even as Dems attack Trump for not saying enough about the attack by a terrorist supporter.
What does Gov. Shapiro think about an attempt to kill his family over Gaza? Don’t ask him. Is it a hate crime? It would be inappropriate for him to comment on the matter.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said it would be inappropriate for him to label the fire last weekend at his official residence “a hate crime” — and didn’t think it was helpful for outsiders to do so either.
Speaking in an interview that aired Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Shapiro said, “I know as a former prosecutor how important it is to follow the evidence and apply the law and to do so without fear or favor. In this case, I’m the victim of the crime. I’m not the prosecutor. The prosecutors will weigh all the different evidence, determine what the motive is.”
This is not integrity, it’s dishonesty.
Hate crimes charges would most likely be federal. Shapiro is a state official and even if the charges were brought by the state, there would be no involvement by the governor’s office. State prosecutors are fully capable of investigating the attack even if Shapiro were to condemn the perp’s stated motive.
Instead, Shapiro keeps dodging and weaving, treating the whole thing as some sort of universal problem.
“This is, sadly, a real part of our society today,” Shapiro told Stephanopoulos, “and it needs to be universally condemned, George. I don’t care if it’s coming from the left, from the right. I don’t care if it’s coming from someone who you voted for, or someone who you didn’t vote for, someone on your team or someone on the other team.”
This one ain’t coming from the right. If it were, Gov. Shapiro would have condemned it by now.
Everyone knows that this ‘both sides have problems’ stuff, whether it’s true or not, tends to come out when it’s your side doing something wrong.
Society has issues, but in this case, Gov. Shapiro is trying not to talk about what happened because condemning antisemitism and support for terrorism within his own party is a career killer.

As many fellow Pennsylvanians like myself know only too well, Governor Shapiro is certainly more clever than an utter doofus like Governor Walz of Minnesota, but as Eleanor of Aquitaine, played magnificently by Katherine Hepburn in the “Lion in Winter,” stated to a certain someone, “You’re clever, but I wonder if you’re right.”
Shapiro comes to mind here. Most certainly. Yes, one can be very clever without being right. Obama is someone else who I think serves as a fine example of this truth.

Reminds me of Bill Clinton back in the 90s. Except that Clinton had more spine than Shapiro

Absolutely.
And those very clever people can do more damage than the brain-dead crazed leftists.
Come to think of it, Gavin “hair gel” Newsom is very intelligent and clever – but very wrong and destructive.

For at least a hundred years the US Jewish vote has gone democrat. They voted against Eisenhower, twice. They voted against Reagan, twice. They voted against Trump, twice. We see a big deal being made regarding antisemitism coming out of US institutions which are staffed overwhelmingly by democrats. That is an intramural cage match between the democrats and is why I am electing to stay out of it. They get what they vote for.

Democrats always blame others for what they themselves do. Adult Democrats cannot be held responsible for their own actions. That would be unfair.

This!!!! And Spencer and company won’t touch this FACT with a 20-foot pole. American Jews are their own worst enemy. And if they’re unwilling to stop acting like petulant Marxist fools why should I give a damn?

Democrats have moved on to the more important issue of defending murderous foreign criminal gangs. You can almost hear them singing The Internationale as they storm the barricades seeking to free the oppressed…murderous foreign criminal gangs. Someone needs to tell Jewish democrats that their party just isn’t in to them now that they have a new and super important cause to support. Right on cue the Che Guevara brigade has leapt in to action.

Daniel here writes about Jews being their own worst enemy all the time. I daresay people are very touchy about being branded antisemitic, but there should be a qualifier about who’s making the charge. When I raise the question about antisemitic Jews, halfwits like Rarely deny that they exist
I am a 95% Israel supporter (only things I oppose Israel on is its alliance w/ Azerbaijan, which has had adverse effects on Armenia) and their mandatory Covid regime (which arguably, much of the world had, and which is of course their internal matter). I support Israel annexing completely Judea, Samaria and Gaza, settling Jews there and expelling Palestinians – at least the Jihadist ones – to the muslim country of their choice
At the same time, I have a pretty dim view of US Jews, thanks to the fact that most of them range from Liberal to Leftist, despite the majority of their fellow travellers hating them

To your point, nearly all the American Jews that I have interfaced with in the medical profession have been either classic liberals or outright leftists.

In one of my previous jobs, which did have a number of Jews, I did encounter some Right-leaning Jews
All Russian Jews

Infidel,
Thanks for your reply.
Good to know that there are some Right-leaning Jews out there – it’s just that I have not seen many of them in my profession.

From that table, I see that had the US been a country comprised of just those Jews, it would not have been Israel’s ally. Which is ironic, and honestly, a shame
In the meantime, muslims, who really excel at scouting political parties to support, make their support fluid, and available to anyone who’s willing to earn it. They surprised everyone by flipping to Trump last November, and now, here he is, preventing Israel from bombing Iran, forcing ceasefires in Gaza and so on
The best thing Israel can do for itself is just distance itself from American Jews, particularly the ADL. Maybe make Jonathan Tobin its policymaker on relations b/w Israel and the US Jewish population

Shapiro is a self-hating Jew but, more than anything, a crafty, clever politician who remains
neutral to avoid “offending” anyone. Reason: He knows where his campaign fund$ come from
and will do anything to protect that.
This is how he became a PA State Rep, and then Attorney General and now Governor.
Political whore pussy boys like Shapiro never have self-respect.

I wonder why? He has no chance of being the Democrat candidate for POTUS in 2028, for the same reason that Kamala didn’t select him, and for the same reason that Joe Lieberman came third when he ran in 2004
Best thing he can do for himself is move to the center, try & be as bipartisan as possible for 2 terms, and then find something else to do at the end of it all, or switch parties

Shapiro…the guy who’s girlfriend managed to stab herself 40+ times? That guy is wrong. Sum ting wong. This is like the hammer attack on Paul Pelosi on steroids. Whatever happened I’m sure it was nothing more than a disagreement over a parcheesi score.
No one wants to consider a political party completely devoid of any humanity but rationally, people who choose to yoke together for political power are a unique class. And to unite for a the primary purpose of abortion makes them a political party of murder. That sounds hyperbolic but it’s just the facts. I’m probably the last person to figure out these people have one agenda and it’s how to efficiently k!ll the unborn, the poor & elderly and get paid doing it. Shapiro is in that private club where you take your beating and never say a word. No matter the size of the bruise.
