Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been working hard to show that he really does have cards to play after all. But does he?
During their contentious Oval Office conversation Friday, President Trump told the pint-sized Ukrainian Churchill and/or dictator, “You’re not in a good position. You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards.” It was unclear whether or not Zelenskyy understood the idiomatic expression, as he answered: “I’m not playing cards. I’m very serious, Mr. President. I’m very serious. I’m the president in a war—” Trump interjected: “You’re playing cards. You’re playing cards. You’re gambling with the lives of millions of people. You’re gambling with World War III. You’re gambling with World War III.” Zelenskyy then proceeded on to London, where he made a great display of having cards to play.

One of the things that has been remarked on about his “cards” retort is that he’s unfamiliar w/ English metaphors. Which is why he’d have done well to have done the official work via an interpreter. A lot of other foreign leaders are reasonably good in English, but if there is a different official language in their country, they prefer using it, so that interpreters can minimize the chances of any misunderstanding
The real problem w/ Friday’s meeting was that before he met the Trump team, he had a previous session w/ Senate Dems & Neocon Republicans. They gave him rotten advice: that he could manipulate the Trump team into doing what they all wanted. That might have been achievable by a more astute statesman, which Zelenskyyyyyy, of all people, ain’t! On top of that, he had been advised to go in a suit, and he ignored that advice
Ukraine’s best hope now is to look for a different leader. There is a Ukrainian leader in exile in London, his name is Gen Valery Zaluzhny, a former army chief and a potential rival. Maybe he could be elected and work out a deal directly w/ Putin, ignoring the West entirely. As far as the US goes, we can do our deals directly w/ Russia, and start trying to loosen the Sino-Russian alliance

Usually, in international diplomacy, foreign leaders from countries where English is not the major language (eg India) go w/ their country’s official language, and use the skills of the interpreters to soften the blows. Of course, both sides have interpreters, so that if one leader is bad mouthing the other in his language, the other party’s interpreter can tell his boss what’s actually being said

Putin is a dictator in an authoritarian regime AND the aggressor in this war. He cannot be trusted to give the correct time. The Ukraine is a democracy with a democratically leader. Largely agree w/ you, but one correction: Putin is not a communist, despite being ex KGB. If he were, he’d be leading the CPRF – Communist Party of the Russian Federation, which succeeded the CPSU once the latter was banned in 1991 throughout Russian territory. His party United Russia is a patriotic party w/ protectionist economic policies (although they have free market capitalism at home). Communist parties, like the CPSU during the Cold War and CPRF now, are globalist parties who believe in a world government run by an international communist party

Contrary to your narrative, Zelanskyyyyy is not Winston Churchill either, contrary to how many Western leaders have portrayed him. During WWII, Churchill formed a national unity government, so that despite other differences they might have had, for the purposes of this war, they were united. Unlike them, Zelanskyyy banned all opposition parties, as well as any media that didn’t endorse his moves. Instead, he banned them, and shut down the independent media, and cracked down on the Eastern Orthodox Church. Why have we heard nothing of what Russia is prepared to do to reach a peace agreement? It looks like Trump has promised them a good part of the Ukraine and a big welcome back into full membership in World affairs. Russia likely won’t go after the rest of the Ukraine for at least 3-4 years. It’s a real good bet that Putin won’t stick to any agreement for very long — just long enough to get Russia’s strength back probably. This should act as a good deterrent for China’s vis-a-vie Taiwan. Not.

Ukraine badly needs a new leader. It doesn’t have to be from a pro-Russia party: it could come from an anti-Russia party, like Poroshenko or Timishenko, but who at least know what predicament they are in, and what they need to do to end the war. They need to negotiate not w/ Trump but w/ Putin, and they can maybe pull back on the 2014 decree that made Ukrainian the sole official language of the country, outlawing Russian. That would make a more persuasive case for them getting back Kherson, Mariupol, and maybe even parts of Donbas

Ukraine has been fighting NATO’s war for them – at a considerable discount – Trump’s figure of $350m is demonstrably a complete fabrication.
They have had one hand tied behind their backs throughout – if they had had free rein to return Russia’s missiles in spades, things would be looking rather different in the war zone, I suspect.
Russia is the big winner – much vodka drunk in the Kremlin, no doubt, and, as a consequence, the world becomes a more dangerous place. No worries, the USA can live in total isolation – until the first ICBM lands on Washington.

Yes, a typo – I meant that the $350bn quoted by DT was a fabrication, other calculations say less than half that sum, although, I agree, still a great deal of cash. The trouble is, if DT signs over the most productive part of Ukraine to Russia – he will never get his money back. I’m sure DT considers the whole mattera business transaction. It seems strange to me that he wants ‘peace at any price’ in Ukraine, but vows extermination of Hamas in Gaza.

If you’re talking about the resolution where the US and Russia voted on the same side, Israel too voted no, as opposed to abstaining. China, interestingly enough, abstained on that Ukrainian resolution. Maybe they see the US and Ukraine coming apart, and think Kyiv could be a good target for belt/road projects
Israel has nothing to fear from Ukraine. Zelanskyyy may be Jewish, but Ukraine has a horrendous record of antisemitism – probably worse than Poland and Russia. In the early days of the war, Israel walked a tightrope, both for the sake of remaining Russian Jews as well as to avoid a direct faceoff w/ Russian troops in Syria. Now, Israel has no reason to fear the latter, but by voting for Russia, it might influence Moscow to be less supportive of Iran going forward

Well, Ukraine has not been supportive of Israel at all in the UN. Russia obviously isn’t, and has its dealings w/ Iran. Incidentally, Russian activities, rather than votes in the UN, have advertently or inadvertently worked to the advantage of Israel:
⮞ As a result of the Ukraine war, Russia had to pull away not only their own troops, but also Syrian fighters out of Syria to back them. As well as military hardware from Syria and Iran that were otherwise available to Hizbullah and Iran
⮞ Israel previously had to alert Russian troops in Syria to avoid colliding w/ them, while hunting down Iranian targets. Once Russia pulled out, and especially after the Assad regime imploded, Israel was free to destroy all Syrian military assets w/o fearing any blowback from Moscow
So Israel doesn’t get Russian votes at the UN, but Russian actions end up benefiting Jerusalem. In the meantime, there is nothing Ukraine itself does that is of benefit to Israel, but Ukraine doesn’t even vote w/ Israel at the UN either

I don’t know what outcome is to be expected if the war continues but giving Russia everything it could possibly want and more before negotiations even begin seems a pretty weak way to negotiate.

WWII brought the USSR, what, 50 million deaths (cf: USA deaths = around 405,000 and little mainland infrastructure damage) from a western invader?

Putin’s ‘fear’ of Ukraine becoming part of NATO was just an excuse to invade what he considered to be part of his diminished empire.
NATO is, and always has been, a defensive organisation, it’s prime purpose to discourage agression from what was the USSR, and it has worked pretty well up until now. .

The paid for and controlled NWO media, world-wide, has led a frenzy of Putin/Russian hate along with the celebration of the Ukrainian fighting spirit with flags and demonstration parades. They continually glorified Zelensky; painted him as a self-sacrificing hero; idolized him as the new Churchill. Reminded me of the short-lived Confederate celebrations at the beginning of the Civil War; and some of the short-lived war-glory at the outset of WWI. Yahoo! Got mit uns. Putin also saw, before invading Ukraine, how the Democrats (the NWO cabal leaders) demonized Trump by accusing him, even still, of working for Russia. This began with Hillary Clinton (bleach bit biddy) and the Steele dossier showing that Trump conspired with the Kremlin to win the 2016 election; Adam Schiff had absolute proof that Trump was guilty; 51 American intelligence officials, including military generals, published that Hunter’s laptop “had all the earmarks” (lying without lying) of Russian disinformation. Demonize Russia and get Trump. Putin knew this was all a lie.
IMO, Russia, especially Putin, is not willing to go along with the NWO agenda; neither is Trump – both love their countries and are not willing to destroy them for Globalist control. So, demonizing Trump and Putin in one blow is a NWO attack on Russia and the USA. Parts of this may all have been on Hillary’s hard drives and phones.
The NWO leaders think they can turn the Russians and the Americans with their money, power, and treachery. But how in the world do they think China (unless they control) or the Muslims (unless Allah controls through them) can be part of their NWO?
