New in PJ Media:
Is there only one judge in the entire United States?
The clearest indication that the Signal “scandal” is the left’s latest attempt to discredit and destroy Donald Trump and his presidency is that there is already a legal case on the incident, and that it has been assigned to none other than U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, who has been in the news lately because he happens to be the same far-left judge who is doing everything he can to make sure Trump can’t deport criminal gang members.
Wow, what a coincidence, right? The same judge who, as Matt Margolis reported here, “participated in what appears to be nothing more than a Democrat strategy session masquerading as a legal conference in Sun Valley, Idaho,” has been assigned the case in a lawsuit that a group called American Oversight has filed, “alleging,” according to Fox News, “that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and others violated federal records laws by discussing Houthi attack plans in a Signal groupchat.”
Like Jack Smith’s failed prosecution of Trump over his supposed mishandling of classified documents, which involved the FBI’s unconscionable raid at Mar-a-Lago, this latest get-Trump nothingburger involves the alleged misuse of classified information. Fox notes that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard “emphasized during a Wednesday House Intelligence Committee hearing that no classified information was shared in the chat.” But as is always the case, that doesn’t satisfy leftists when they think they’ve hit on a way to get the walls closing in on Trump again.
Even the New York Times concedes that “administration officials have noted that it is up to the Defense Department to decide which details of its own work are classified. And since the head of that department, Mr. Hegseth, has declared the information not classified, it therefore is not, they have contended.” However — and you know that when the New York Times is talking about something the Trump administration says, there is always going to be a “however” — the Times then quoted a certain Mick Mulroy, whom it identified as a “former Pentagon official in the first Trump administration.”
The learned Mulroy says that material Hegseth posted in the Signal chat “is highly classified and protected. Disclosure would compromise the operation and put lives at risk. Next to nuclear and covert operations, this information is the most protected.” The Times did, however, have the minimal decency to add that Mulroy may not actually be the last word on this matter: “The administration has vigorously resisted that assessment, pointing to the Defense Department’s role in determining what material would be classified. ‘There was no classified information as I understand it,’ President Trump said on Tuesday.”
There is more. Read the rest here.

If that is true then the “journalist” Mr. . Goldberg from the Atlantic rag “magazine ” who stated that these where in his opinion “state secrets” and Mr. Goldberg put them on line for the world to see ? Should he also be investigated for putting serious facts he was accidentally shown went he was put into an on line chat he had no business being on ?Should he made his presents known when he was listening in on what he though was a private meeting between high ranking government officials? Could this be just a group of men talking about how well the operation went that they all worked on ?What underling added Mr. Goldberg to this chat is the question everyone should ask?
Rarely says
It was BEFORE the operation. Even “left wing” republicans have asked for an inquiry.
The assigned judge, Boasberg, has done nothing but applied the law although right wing nut cases deplore that when it interferes with whatever Trump’s agenda is at that moment. Whether POTUS or not Trump must follow the law.
WPM says
The question is why this judge was picked twice in a short period of time for cases against the same person .The question is why was the reporter who though this information was a “grave” security break release all the information on line for everyone to read ? What law was broken a “reporter” releasing information he believe was a risk to national security ?What was said that hurt the operation ,someone should resign who put this reporter in the chat .Trump was not in the chat , Trump did not release the information that was in the chat .Was this like Benghazi where American soldiers and diplomats died ,was this like smashing and destroying evidence like Hillary Clinton did as secretary of state did and she said her excuse was what difference does it make now? Was there a .massive cover up of this so call break of “important ” information of an operation that no Americans died and the mission was accomplished what they set out to do?.
Rarely says
Firstly, the DOD declared that it was not classified information so the Atlantic could publish it. Even if it was classified it was released after the fact so there was no risk to the operation that had taken place. Thirdly, the uncategorical refusal of the administration to acknowledge ant error or problem and the disgusting attack on the reporter required him to release part of the exchange to prove his point.
The real questions to be asked are (1) what were they doing discussing an ongoing operation on an open app and (2) how the heck did a reporter get into the chat.
Total incompetence. So, circle the wagons and attack the reporter with everything you’ve got and then have it all looked into by the people at fault in the first place.
So much easier to admit the mistake, ensure it won’t happen again and slap a few wrists. End of story.
It has nothing to do with what should have happened to Hillary Clinton, FDR or Abe Lincoln.

Just another witch hunt by the DEMOCRAT leadership to distract from their doing nothing for the American people and tax payers.

You should worry about **your*** Canadian rulers “following the law.”
You understand very little, if anything, about American Law, the Constitution, and why Americans think and feel as Americans in the U.S. as they do.
Rarely says
You keep boasting about everyone having to follow the law … except…
You boast about the three arms of gov’t balancing each other…not.
Yu boast about having a president and not a dictatorial king…not.
Do you really have a constitution?
Hoi Polloi says
So where are you on Austin’s failure in Afghanistan which led to 13 deaths and $Bs of weapons left behind, Hunter’s deals and cocaine, JB’s corruption, BHO’s corruption, Letitia James’ created case as a personal practitioner of mortgage fraud, Harris’ hubby’s abuse of women, all the ongoing gender bending in schools past the EO, the refusal to allow the National Guard to surround the Capitol Building and all the extreme corruption in those cases, the corruption in Ukraine, the unprosecuted BLM peaceful arsons and murders, all the fraud and corruption that DOGE is exposing, the extreme tariffs Canada has historically leveled against US goods, or the open border and fentanyl Canada has allowed to flow freely or trafficked children through that border?
This signal info was a mistake that must be dealt with, and has been. It’s nothing up against what I listed and people who can recognize that are attacked by you as right wing nut jobs? Thank you; you know we wear that proudly in the face of what I’ve listed. Canada has bigger problems precisely because, like the EU, it just wants to attack Americans.

HP
What excessive tariffs? What fentanyl? Total imagination.
If your referring to the dairy industry the tariffs are AFTER a huge tariff-free amount — an amount that has NEVER come close to a tariff level. Canada has health laws regarding dairy products that Canadian producers must adhere to as do imports.
Fentanyl trafficking to the US is less than one half of one per cent of what enters the US from Mexico — hardly a worry. More illegal drugs and guns go the other way.
It’s a total sham that only idiots and the grossly uninformed would believe.
Children trafficking? First I’ve heard of it. Where did you get that?
Where did you get the idea that Canadians wanted to attack Americans?
What other idiocy can you think up?

No, I have not been “boasting” about anything My “boast” is in Jesus Christ, not in man-made laws or governments.
I haven’t written about the *three* branches…..you must have me confused with someone else.
And, no *I* don’t have a Constitution…I have a ‘constitution’ which experiences ill health quite often. And I have God’s Laws and Truth.
You are always telling us here how things should be, how biden was so great, how Mr. Trump is breaking laws.
What do you have, rarely right?

I am no fan of Biden and I do like some of what Trump is trying to do BUT he seems to stray from the rule of law a tad and is often a stranger to the facts.
Hoi Polloi says
Just checked fentanyl stats and you’re quoting far lower Canadian border stats than I see. NAFTA has been abused to allow China to avoid limits by shipping first to Canada and Mexico. Dairy past an agreed limit is subject to a 200% tariff. There are indeed other tariffs and disputes. Refusing to help police a border when you’re allowing those who enter Canada to cross into the US is an attack. We’re allowed to see it as such. Children are being trafficked due to the lack of oversight. You’ve got mountains to say about one informational breach. The rest?

The Federalist reported that for The United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the source of many of the cases interfering with President Donald Trump’s authority, one-third of its 15 judges (15 counting Chief Judge James Boasberg) are foreign-born, that those handing down these questionable rulings were appointed by BHO & JB and, more importantly, that Chutkan, Mehta, and Reyes (all names we’ve heard in these tales of lawfare) had no experience as judges when appointed by DT’s adversaries. It appears that court was purpose-built.
somehistory says
I read that a few days ago, HP, but then couldn’t find the article again. Thanks for posting it.
Hoi Polloi says
Yw.
Keys says
Yes, Hoi Polloi and somehistory, I also read the “foreign-born judges” statistic in a couple articles.
Also, consider this from a poster on Breitbart:
“ Wondering what would possess a federal judge to order planes in the air filled with illegals who are gang criminals to turn around??? How about the Judge’s wife being the founder of an ABORTION NGO funded by USAID??? and his daughter, Katherine, whose employer is Partners for Justice, an organization that provides legal support to criminal illegal aliens and gang members. PF receives 76% of its funding from government grants. The organization actively opposes deportations, mass incarceration and laws targeting violent gangs like Tren de Aragua (from Venezuela and deeply invovolved in human trafficking, drug smuggling and violent crime). PF takes credit for eliminating 5,000 years of prison time for illegals since 2018.
Shortly after investigative journalist Laura Loomer connected these dots, Katherine Boasberg deleted her Linkedin and Instagram accounts in an attempt to scrub her connections from public view.
This connection raises a major ethical red flag. The Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges states that judges must disqualify themselves from cases where their impartiality could be questioned. Specifically, it states that a judge should step aside when a close family member has an interest that could be substantially affected by the outcome of the proceeding.
Loomer’s reporting makes it clear that this is not just a minor ethical issue—it’s a serious conflict that could impact national security. The judge overseeing these deportation cases should not have any personal connections to groups that stand to gain from his rulings. And yet, here we are, with a sitting U.S. judge making decisions that align perfectly with his daughter’s professional interests.”
——————————————
My question to these DC judges who want to make sure their interpretation of the law is followed is this:
Why did you not “rule” and “order” when the Biden Administration let hundreds of thousands – millions – of unvetted illegal alien mobs in to the country while claiming the “border is secure”; even arranging for them to be bused in to American cities in the middle of the night at tax payer expense; and even flying them in from foreign countries; and even providing an “app” to assist them ?
somehistory says
Thank you, Keys. You have written a lot of important stuff on this issue.
Hoi Polloi says
Agreed. There are so many issues with this Judge. Funny how anyone who sees the legal issues is considered to be lacking respect for the law by TDS sufferers. We need a serious judicial system overhaul.

Yes – but certainly less broken under Pres. Trump.
But you knew that already…

This is the same Jeffery Goldberg who made up the suckers and losers hoax about Trump reason for not visiting the D-Day cemetery at a ceremony in I believe 2019 ,Goldberg sited 4 ” people who where anonymous” who Goldberg refused to name them . Meanwhile the 19 people not all Trump fans some European leaders who where around Trump that day before ,during and after the event said they did not hear Trump say that. This leak was a mistake ,why and who put Goldberg this muck raking “reporter” who specializing in spreading rumors ,nothing burgers and in the case of sucker and losers lies in a group chat. There seems to be proof he was on this list for at least 10 days and never communicated to others in the chat he was there ,is that journalism or is that spying? If Jeffery Goldberg was convinced these discussions where a break in national security why did he release all of what was said on line ?Why does this judge not question the person who release this information in full to be view by everyone on line?

Exactly. He has form for dishonesty and hoaxes, and he should have notified that he’d been mistakenly included. I can’t spend money that I know the bank mistakenly credited and this is no different. National security would be any patriotic American’s first priority and most of us would notify.

Yes, WPM, the blabber should not have blabbed, but sent back a message to the sender, letting the group know that he had been included. Then he should have kept quiet.
the blabber is a trouble-maker of the worst kind. If he had been included on plans by hamas, hezbollah or iran to do this or that, he would likely have kept quiet.

“Bondi calls for 3 DC judges to be removed: ‘Cannot be impartial’”
“Attorney General Pam Bondi argued several judges ruling on Trump administration cases need to be removed from their positions because “they cannot be objective” in their decisions.
District court judges have halted many of President Donald Trump’s executive actions, highlighting the legal battles taking place as the new administration aims to shrink the size of the federal government. Three of those judges are Washington, D.C., district judges: Beryl Howell, Ana Reyes, and James Boasberg.
Bondi targeted the three specifically during an appearance on The Ingraham Angle on Thursday, though she suggested more than just those three should be removed from their posts.
Responding to a statement from Howell accusing the Department of Justice of “a strategy designed to impugn the integrity of the federal judicial system,” Bondi said, “Many judges need to be removed, Judge Howell included, Judge Reyes, Judge Boasberg.”
“These judges obviously cannot be impartial. They cannot be objective,” the attorney general added. “They are district judges trying to control our entire country, and they are trying to obstruct Donald Trump’s agenda.”
Howell and Boasberg were Obama appointees and Reyes a Biden appointee.
All three have, to varying degrees, met the ire of Trump and his Cabinet, who have seen their judicial orders as overstepping:”

Many have failed to recuse when they should have. The ABA should also be held responsible for its oversight failures. Then there’s the law that imposes monetary penalties when an injunction that was granted is found to have no basis that can be applied. Given all the bail-free releases of violent repeat offenders as well, our judicial system clearly needs a complete overhaul.

“BREAKING: Trump Appeals Deportation Case to Supreme Court”
““This case presents fundamental questions about who decides how to conduct sensitive national-security-related operations in this country—the President, through Article II, or the Judiciary, through TROs. The Constitution supplies a clear answer: the President,” Acting Solicitor General Sarah Harris wrote, according to NBC News. “The republic cannot afford a different choice.”

Judges presided over what was labeled the Jan 6 insurrection. Fast forward to today and Judges are presiding over their own manufactured insurrection. No one is above the law. Forget impeachment, arrest them.
Sedition in the United States is defined as the federal crime of advocating for an uprising against or overthrow of the government through speech, publication, or organization. It involves conspiring to overthrow or destroy the government by force, opposing the authority of the U.S. government, or engaging in subversive acts.

This folderal has a silver lining. One thing the SCOTUS has wanted to rule on is the jurisdiction of the lower courts. Specifically nationwide rulings from a local district court. The Justices that have stated an opinion say they do not like the fact this encourages Judge shopping. The rulings these judges are issuing are going to go down in flames. The jurisdictional problem is the real meat of this issue.
