Back in November, the US and UK “launched multiple airstrikes against targets” at the Houthi stronghold in the Yemen capital of Sana’a, and in “other regions” across the country. It was “in response” to the Houthis’ “operations against Israel,” and their hijacking of the Red Sea. But the Houthis still escalated, and now are facing strong American retaliation. “U.S. airstrikes kill ‘key Houthi leadership’ in Yemen, Mike Waltz says,” NBC News, March 24, 2025:
U.S. airstrikes targeting Yemen’s Houthi rebels pounded sites across the country into Monday, with the group saying the one attack in the capital killed at least one person and wounded more than a dozen others.
The American strikes entered its 10th day without a sign of stopping, part of a campaign by U.S. President Donald Trump targeting the rebel group that threatens maritime trade and Israel while also trying to pressure Iran, the Houthis’ main benefactor.
So far, the U.S. has not offered any specifics on the sites it is striking, though Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz claimed the attacks have “taken out key Houthi leadership, including their head missileer.”…
“We’ve hit their headquarters,” Waltz told CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “We’ve hit communications nodes, weapons factories and even some of their over-the-water drone production facilities.”….
As is to be expected, leftist appeasers such as Chatham House are cautioning that US attacks on the Houthis (which are going to continue indefinitely) “will not bring Iran to the negotiating table – but could provoke worse violence.” Chatham House advised “coordinating” with “regional allies in the Gulf.”
The leftist strategy of appeasing jihadists has been tried and proven ad nauseam to be ineffective and dangerous, hence the escalation of the Houthis, Iran and Hamas under the Biden administration. But leftists never learn.
As for “coordinating with regional allies,” this has been ongoing with Israel, but those same alleged allies have also been condemning Israel since October 7, even blaming Israel for Hamas’ savagery, as Israel is slammed as an “occupying” state. Israel has now learned that it needs actually to occupy much more territory. One possibility is taking back land in Gaza that it mistakenly vacated in the vain hope of peace; otherwise, there will no longer be a Jewish state.
The idea that Westerners could provoke jihad aggressors by retaliating against their barbarism is foolish. Being an infidel is what provokes jihadists, as well as the very presence of a Jewish state. So unless you’re willing to convert or be subjugated to Islam and surrender the state of Israel to Islam, jihadists will remain provoked. The Houthis and Iran et al need to be sent a strong message to stop their attacks, or else. The Trump administration is finally sending that message.
The barbaric Houthis terrorized the Red Sea, interrupted shipping, slowed down shipping supplies and murdered innocent people.
Between November 2023 and January of this year, the Houthis had targeted more than 100 merchant vessels, sinking two and killing four sailors. They also launched attacks against US warships, although none have been successfully hit.
Jihadists do not respond to negotiations with infidels; nor do they respond to appeasement. They only pretend to, as they play Westerners for fools to squeeze more money out of them and do more damage. They view Western appeasers as weak, and take weakness as a signal to escalate their jihad.
Iran has already been given a last chance choice by Trump, who stated:
I hope that Iran, and I’ve written them a letter, saying I hope you’re going to negotiate because if we have to go in militarily it’s going to be a terrible thing for them.”
Jihadists are the ones who need to stop provoking the West and Israel. Leftists have it backwards.

The Houthi leadership announced about a week ago that they are at war with the US. As far as I can tell, the US has not formally responded to that statement, but it continued its bombing campaign. It is also my opinion that declaring war against the US was not in the Houthi’s self-interest..

Sadly there is no diplomatic end to the war with islam. So we should destroy any Islamic group or country that attacks us or our allies. If we don’t the blood thirsty islamic leaders and followers will continue to attack and kill us. Its quite simple when it comes to islam Kill or be killed by the jihadist.

The left always says that military action will increase the likelihood of more violence. When the left has its way – the terrorists use the time to prepare for and conduct increasingly larger violent operations. I think the best we can hope for at this point is so completely destroying the Houthi infrastructure that perhaps President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi and his forces can resume control backed by the Saudis and some kind of peacekeeping force. Once that is done, then we can worry about the humanitarian issues.
