NEW YORK (WABC) — The Trump administration has cancelled $400 million worth of grants and contracts to Columbia University for “the school’s continued inaction in the face of persistent harassment of Jewish students,” according to the Justice Department, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education and the General Services Administration.
The Administration says that on March 3, the Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism, which is comprised of components from each of the federal agencies, notified Columbia’s administration that “that it would conduct a comprehensive review of the university’s federal contracts and grants in light of ongoing investigations under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act,” according to a press release.
At the start of the Israel and Hamas conflict, Columbia was a hotbed of protests that would often turn violent with at least one building being overtaken by demonstrators.
Columbia, according to the Administration holds about $5 billion in federal grant and contracts.
“Freezing the funds is one of the tools we are using to respond to this spike in anti-Semitism. This is only the beginning,” said Leo Terrell, Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights and head of the Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism. “Cancelling these taxpayer funds is our strongest signal yet that the Federal Government is not going to be party to an educational institution like Columbia that does not protect Jewish students and staff.”…

The reason for that is that they felt that by giving themselves that title they would appear to have some kind of valid claim on that land.
Indeed , there never was a “Palestinian state.”
Furthermore, Those mislead and sadly ignorant people on the different university and college campuses who always chant “Free Palestine” is a nonsensical statement and don’t even know it. The reason why this is so is because there is a real “Palestine” to free in the first place.
For there is not nor was there ever a genuine land that is “Palestine.” That is a modern myth.

This is a great day and so long in coming. This is where we can bring reform to academia and confront campus anti-Semitism by hitting it in the pocketbook. And who cares if Columbia goes broke? This could turn out to be one of Trump’s greatest accomplishments. I think along with Tom Homan, Leo Terrell may be one of the shining stars of the administration. Keep it going.

Antisemitism is like a disease which can be controlled by two methods, one, eliminate the carriers and two, control the exposure, a kind of quarantine where carriers of the disease are kept away from the healthy population.
Loosing $400 million should help administration officials take antisemitism seriously and also serious about removing antisemitic troublemakers.
Today, eggs are at a premium because the Biden USDA did little about solving bird flu for almost two years short of killing entire flocks. That would be the equivalent of shutting Columbia University forever.
Columbia University needs to fire the antisemitic professors, permanently expel antisemitic acting-out students, and require entrance essays and interviews designed to find antisemitic attitudes before acceptance.
Will that happen? No. The universities will settle lawsuits and make minimal compliance using OPM – Other People’s Money. What other business can yearly have 15,000 to 30,000 prepaid orders that take a year to deliver, cost half a year’s salary, and more than half of the products are of no benefit? Could this be the ultimate legal scam operating on the government model?

Although as it is, the Department of Education seems to be in the process of offloading its work to alternatives, be it the states for education, Treasury for student loans, DOJ for the legality of DEI policies of schools and so on. It would probably go away anyway, but at least the schools get financially dinged once for their antisemitism, and then be made to look at state education departments for their funding

All colleges and Universities should be required to make public record the funds donated and held in their endowment funds, or contributions from foreign countries or persons. Islam has bought a huge amount of influence in our higher education system.
