Jihad recruitment and training in prison is a serious problem, and it’s a worldwide problem:
- Austria: Muslim migrant prisoner threatens to behead fellow inmate and forms jihad terror cell in prison
- UK: Muslim prisoners chant “Queen is the enemy of Islam and must die”
- UK: jihadists are ruling prisons, “vulnerable” infidel prisoners paying jizya
- UK: Muslim prison gangs beating prisoners who won’t convert to Islam
- Belgian taxpayers forced to compensate jihadi prisoners who were isolated
- British prisons are being dubbed “jihadi training camps
As Islam grows in Russia, a pattern has emerged that is similar to what has been observed in Western societies. This pattern is consistent with the frequently used Islamic supremacist modus operandi:
1. Play the victim card, even when you’ve victimized innocent people (and that’s why you’re in jail, not at a holiday resort).
2. Make demands, presenting them as if they were a human right.
3. Demand special treatment for your faith and special accommodations for yourself, as if the prison staff were dhimmis (as they would be under the hegemony of Islamic law)
4. Make a loud outcry in the media and with anyone who will listen about why you’re upset when you’re not given the special treatment you demand.
5. Begin a process of dawah, intimidation, and jihad recruitment of other inmates. Turn your incarceration into an Islamic mission.
It’s a process which has happened in the West, and Russia isn’t immune. But it doesn’t look as if jihadi prisoners have it quite as easy in Russia as they do in the West under leftist leaders. Not yet, anyway. Last June, Islamic State prisoners were “liquidated” as Russian authorities ended their jail siege: “Jihadists had taken guards hostage and demanded to be released with getaway car.” But Islamic supremacists and their sympathetic leftist water carriers don’t want you to think about the unspeakable suffering of the victims of jihads, and that of their families.
Also, Russia is no different from Western countries when it comes to the demographic jihad: “About 15 percent of Russia’s population of 143 million is Muslim. They represent the fastest-growing demographic amid a population decline.” This will eventually give Muslims in Russia and in other countries that are being demographically overwhelmed a larger voice, as they continue to work toward the Sharia goal of global dominion.
“As Islam grows in Russia, Muslim prisoners struggle to practise their faith,” by Mansur Mirovalev, Al Jazeera, March 17, 2025:
After arriving in a frigid Siberian jail in November 2023, Nariman Dzhelyal ate nothing but bread and gruel.
The bespectacled, bearded Crimean Tatar community leader is a devout Muslim. He said most of the meals he was served contained pork, the consumption of which is forbidden in Islam.
“I just took bread, it wasn’t of good quality, and ate it with tea,” Dzhelyal, who had been sentenced to 17 years in jail for “blowing up a natural gas pipeline” and “smuggling explosives” in a trial Ukraine called Kremlin-orchestrated, told Al Jazeera.
He denied all the allegations against him.
Within days after arriving in the drab town of Minusinsk, his diet got marginally better.
Breakfasts were tasteless, unsweetened gruel, suppers contained fish, and only one of the lunch dishes was with pork.
But diet is by far not the biggest problem tens of thousands of Muslims face in Russia’s notoriously cruel penitentiary system.
For almost a century, Soviet and Russian jails have been described as a dark underworld governed by unwritten laws.
Hardened criminals known as “crowned thieves” or “the black caste” still sport elaborate tattoos, speak a sophisticated slang, and maintain a strict, ruthless hierarchy with themselves on top.
The jails they control are known as “black prisons”, where wardens collude with “crowned thieves” and turn a blind eye to drug smuggling, card games and extreme violence.
“Red prisons” are the ones where wardens hold sway. Here, career criminals have accused prison officials of inhumane conditions including torture, solitary confinement, malnutrition and rape.
But in the past two decades, a third force has begun affecting Russia’s prison population as tens of thousands of Muslims have been convicted of “terrorism”, “extremism”, or other crimes…..

I think China has adopted the best approach to crushing Islamic insurgency. And, yes, I do understand that the PRC is a cruel and brutal regime.

Not to downplay the islamization threat in Russia, but there’s one thing majorly different about Russia. It’s not a homogeneous country where all ethnicities are equally spread out throughout the country. There are muslims, but they are mainly concentrated in select areas of the country – Tatarstan, Bashkortorstan, Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan and some other areas of the Caucasus. Those areas are majority muslim, and as a result, the number of muslims present in the rest of the country is <5%
In this Ukraine war, Putin had been pampering various muslim minorities as he encouraged all those non-Russkie populations to donate troops to put into the Ukraine meatgrinder. But once this war ends, what will be his next move?
All that said, I wouldn't worry too much about Russia. We saw how both Yeltsin and Putin dealt w/ the Chechens in both the 90s and the 00s, and all Russian muslims got the memo. Also, even the non-Russian -stans in Central Asia have to date avoided falling to islamic regimes like Turkey, despite 30 years of independence. Soviet culture is still strong in countries like Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Chances of Russian muslim provinces like Tatarstan going full islamic is even more remote. Also, according to Pew, 76% of Russians have a positive view of muslims in their country, which is starkly different from people in other countries, such as in Israel, India, and other countries. Reason being that there is a world of difference b/w the political environments in say, Samarqand (Uzbekistan) and Herat (Afghanistan)
If anyone tried, I don't doubt that Putin would crack down on them just as viciously as Xi cracked down on the Uyghurs

I’m actually heartened by the news that they’re not receiving the special treatment they always demand, given the praise and special care muslims have been receiving from from Putin of late. The complaints about food are common wherever they go; free food in hotels, even.
“black prisons”, where wardens collude with “crowned thieves” and turn a blind eye to drug smuggling…. and extreme violence” Sounds like their own religion; no wonder they have a problem with this outside the law system; it’s not theirs. UK citizens told us muslims run entire blocks of chicken restaurants that are fronts for drug ops there. It’s not the drugs, it’s the fact that they don’t control them.
