At a New York City March 19, 2025, “emergency protest for Gaza” held outside the Trump Building on Wall Street, a protester held up a placard stating “Bring Back October 7,” alongside an inverted triangle, signaling support for Hamas. Sheikh Mohammed Badawi, the director of the Muslim American Society (MAS) Youth Center, stated that fighting oppression “by any means necessary” is a duty. Within Our Lifetime leader Nerdeen Kiswani led the crowd in the chant: “U.S. imperialist, number one terrorist!” The event culminated with a march to ICE headquarters in Manhattan in protest of Columbia University activist Mahmoud Khalil’s arrest.
The event was advertised on the social media accounts of the MAS Youth Center. Within Our Lifetime activist and MAS Staten Island staff member Abdullah Akl led several chants at the rally and introduced Sheikh Badawi. Another speaker at the protest, Within Our Lifetime activist Fatima Mohammed, delivered a commencement speech at CUNY School of Law. One of the participants at the rally was wrapped in the flag of the U.S.-designated terrorist organization, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).

Wenn der Staat diese Personen nicht über Abschiebung loswerden kann, da sie den US Pass besitzen, sollten diese Leute niemals nach ihrem Studium irgendeine Anstellung in einem seriösen Unternehmen bekommen. Da diese Braunhemden sich als Aktivisten verstehen und in der Biden-Ära auch immer schön in diversen, von Steuergeldern finanzierten “NGO’s” untergekommen sind, wird sie jetzt hoffentlich eher eine prekäre Zukunft erwarten.

“The Trump administration has accused Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University student and anti-Israel protester, of failing to disclose his employment with a United Nations Palestinian relief agency on his visa application, alleging this omission warrants deportation.
Khalil, a 30-year-old green card holder who is married to a U.S. citizen, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on March 8. In a court brief dated Sunday, the U.S. government outlined its arguments for keeping Khalil in custody while his removal proceedings continue.
The department says Khalil fraudulently applied to change his immigration status without fully disclosing his “membership in certain organization,” which could be grounds for deportation.
Among those organizations was the United Nation’s Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). The relief agency was infamously stripped of tens of millions of dollars in federal funding after Israel claimed that 12 of its members took part in Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel. The DOJ says Khalil did not disclose that he was a political officer of UNRWA from June 2023-Nov.. 2023.
The DOJ also says Khalil did not reveal he was working at the Syria office in the British embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, when he applied for a visa or that he was a member of Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), which led anti-Israel protests at the Ivy League institution.
