The coach of French RC Champigneulles’ reserve team (Meurthe-et-Moselle), Mohamed Bousbaa, has stepped down following what he describes as an Islamophobic incident. In solidarity, more than a dozen players are boycotting training sessions and matches.
The incident dates back to a tournament where Bousbaa’s wife and son, both Muslim, were served sandwiches containing pork. He claims the act was deliberate, orchestrated by club members with whom he had ongoing tensions.
«Not even a simple apology! I ordered two sandwiches from people who knew me but didn’t like me. When my wife and son took a bite, we realized they had been served pork», he told L’Est Républicain.
With the club remaining silent and taking no disciplinary action, Bousbaa decided to leave. He criticized the management for failing to address the issue, allowing it to go unresolved….

I wonder if the coachs opinion about oct 7th was. I doubt he raged about the slaughter of women, babies, the old, burring people, kidnapping in the name of Hamas. But a sandwich of lunchmeat served up by contentious players- now that’s reason to resign in disgust. I imagine when muslim nurses or doctors served up their claims of killing or desiring to kill Jews, why that just rolled off his back. But Lunchmeat- that’s a road too far.
I wish we could see these insults rolled out in the proper context to shame this religion of slaughtering and demeaning all others from this idiocy

On serving pork to a Muslim: what a person chooses to eat is entirely up to them. If they are in doubt they should ask about the food ingredients. So in this case the wife and son of the coach should have asked. It’s on them.

Islamophobia is a made up word with no meaning. A phobis is an irrational fear of something. It is not irrational to fear an ideology that would have the adherents kill you. Not irrational at all. People need to start waking up to the true nature of Islam and it isn’t pretty.

While they are at it they can ban wine because alcohol is also not permitted in Islam .If you have dietary restriction be they religious or allergies when food is served at events should you be cautious and ask what it is made of or when in doubt not take and eat not knowing what it is ? I have a sister in law who is vegan she always eats very little at family gathers and never complains about what others eat. If someone “does not like you” at an event why are you taking food from them ,if you do not know what you are eating why are you eating it? Was the sandwich a BLT , some kind of sausage , a mix lunch meat sandwich , what kind of idiot if he wants a avoid pork would if a mystery meat sandwich was served would not ask or just forgo eating it?

Her own ignorance is the prime factor, not Islamophobia. If she is attending a NON-islamic event she should have the wisdom to question what is being served if they are prohibited from eating certain foods or have allergies she have asked for something else or simply NOT eat.

I have always thought religious food (and drink) restrictions are nonsense and serve no purpose. Not only Muslim ones but also some of the fringe Christian ones too. The latter adopted no doubt to give their idiosyncracies more gravitas. The body breaks down food into its constituents, proteins, carbohydrates and minerals for the body to use.and it does not care what they are called. The one thing that will scupper the Islamic desire to convert everybody is that the infidels will not give up their chosen foods and drinks. Good luck with making over a billion Chinese give up pork for example!
