Cardinal Dolan hails Ramadan as ‘season of penance for our Islamic brothers and sisters’

Cardinal Timothy Dolan is the Roman Catholic Archbishop of New York. He is all wrong about Ramadan, and foolishly so. It is not a season of penance. It is a season for Muslims to redouble their efforts to please Allah. The highest form of service to Allah, according to Muhammad, is jihad, which principally involves warfare against unbelievers. A hadith has a Muslim asking Muhammad: “Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward).” Muhammad replied, “I do not find such a deed.” (Bukhari 4.52.44) So what better way to increase one’s devotion to Allah than by waging jihad? Every Ramadan, therefore, we see an increase in jihad attacks.

Dolan also calls Muslims the “brothers and sisters” of Roman Catholics. In fact, that is not how Muslims regard Christians. Is Dolan aware of these Qur’an passages? (Spoiler: no, he isn’t.)

Qur’an 98:4-6: “Nor were the people of the book divided until after the clear proof came to them. And they are not ordered to do anything else but serve Allah, keeping religion pure for him, as hanifs, and to establish prayer and to give alms. That is true religion. Indeed, the unbelievers among the people of the book and the idolaters will remain in the fire of Gehenna. They are the most vile of created beings.”

Qur’an 5:14: “And with those who say: Indeed, we are Christians, we made a covenant, but they forgot a part of what they were reminded about. Therefore we have stirred up enmity and hatred among them until the day of resurrection, when Allah will inform them of their handiwork.”

Qur’an 5:17: “They indeed have disbelieved who say, Indeed, Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. Say, Who then can do anything against Allah, if he had willed to destroy the Messiah son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on earth? To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He creates what he wills. And Allah is able to do all things.”

Qur’an 4:157: “And because of their saying, We killed the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, the messenger of Allah, they did not kill him nor crucify him, but it seemed so to them, and indeed, those who disagree about this are in doubt about it, they have no knowledge of it except pursuit of a supposition, they did not kill him for certain.

Qur’an 4:171: “O people of the book, do not exaggerate in your religion or say anything about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and his word that he conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from him. So believe in Allah and his messengers, and do not say Three, Stop, it is better for you. Allah is only one God. It is far removed from his transcendent majesty that he should have a son. Everything that is in the heavens and everything that is on the earth is his. And Allah is sufficient as defender.”

Qur’an 5:116: “And when Allah said, O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to mankind, Take me and my mother as two gods besides Allah? He said, Be glorified. It was not for me to say what I had no right to say. If I said it, then you know it. You know what is in my mind, and I do not know what is in your mind. Indeed, you, only you, are the knower of hidden things.”

Qur’an 19:35: “It is not fitting for Allah that he should take to himself a son. Glory be to him, when he decrees a thing, he says to it only, Be, and it is.”

Qur’an 9:30-31: “And the Jews say, Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say, The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the statements of those who disbelieved before. May Allah curse them. How perverse they are. They have taken as lords besides Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah, the son of Mary, when they were called to worship only one God. There is no God except him. May he be glorified from all that they ascribe as partners.”

Qur’an 9:29: “Fight against those do not believe in Allah or the last day, and do not forbid what Allah and his messenger have forbidden, and do not follow the religion of truth, even if they are among the people of the book, until they pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.”

He also praises Muslims for taking Ramadan so seriously. Is he aware (spoiler: no) of how often Muslims (and non-Muslims) are punished for not observing Ramadan? Observance of Ramadan is all too often a matter of fear, not devotion.

    • I think its RAMADAM and open season on those non-muslims around the world. So if you don’t follow the slug Moe you need to be prepared to defend yourself. Keep your powder dry and your guns close at hand. Or if you can’t have a gun a baseball bat will help.

    • You are right, he is an idiot, but there are too many R.C. priests who talk a load of unadulterated nonsense about Islam, make ridiculous excuses for Islam and Muslims and never condemn Muslims for their barbarism against Christians.

    firstly, he’s speaking about things which, evidently, he has not looked into via someone (non-mozlum) who knows what islime is all about. Nor even the pretend fast when mozlum gorge themselves all night, and complain the day following if they see some infidel eating, drinking or even speaking about such things.

    The little girls…nine years old….being required to go all day without food, even a cup of water…and the thoughts mozlums have toward those who don’t go along with this child abuse.

    How any person who claims to follow Christ can look upon this worship of satan as a ‘good thing,’ and to call the sons of demons ‘brothers and sisters’….is beyond understanding.

    He should offer a mozlum kid a glass of water during this month of unholy, evil, demonic worship, and see what the kid’s father does.

  11. Almost every day there are articles here about Christians in Africa being slaughtered by his islamic brothers and sisters. I hope he continues to eat during ramadan because I’m hoping he chokes on whatever it is. The catholic clergy sure has gone off the rails.

    • The mission of the Roman Catholic Church is to:

      1. Proclaim the presence of Christ and serve Him where He is to be found.
      2. Evangelize the world and claim it for Christ.
      3. Communicate the divine life to mankind.
      4. Serve as an agent and forerunner of God’s Kingdom of justice and peace

      Right now, I give them an F grading on all four.

We’ve been told that the sammies are mohammedelicious, fit for a prophet, and to die for!!

  16. Come on people, what do you expect with the Pope bringing Islam into the Vatican City as guests, Islam tells lies and the church believes it….what a shame.

    The current Pope my be going out the door but read that they want an even more liberal Pope, why not turn Vatican City over to Islam and get it over with?
